West fork and Splendora are both teams getting mentioned in “top 10 5a football” posts. Huffman will prove they just had a slow start. West Fork will be a playoff team. Splendora will not. Losing to WF can be considered a quality loss. Losing to Splendora cannot be considered a quality loss. But definitely losing to Liberty is a terrible loss on anyone's resume. However, vidor defense is hit and miss. We will lock down and teams some weeks then just inexplicably allow 42. The LCM game is a head scratcher for sure, but from what i hear the LCM tight end (44 i think?) single handily wrecked the game, kids a monster. I see this game being similar to a few games vidor has played; similar to lumberton and navasota going to be body blows all game; and a close game in the late 3rd turns into a vidor win due to vidor being able to just GRIND down huffmans d line like weve done to just about everyone except lcm and HF. No. It takes all 11 to beat vidor. Wing t is tough to keep cradled Great coaching, gameplan and execution by all 11. Quote

Huffman has shut down opposing team’s offense you are delusional to think they would let up 56 points to a ok at best vidor team. Quote

PolkHighLegend Posted yesterday at 07:01 PM Report Posted yesterday at 07:01 PM Man there is a lot to unpack here. I'm literally laughing out loud reading most of these comments. Clearly a bunch of new Huffman trolls but mixed in with a really inflated opinion of their team. I'm a fan of Huffman. Unfortunately I'm a bigger fan of the truth. The truth is Drayden Bacon (the RB) is probably the best player in the district and can single handedly win a game for you. The younger Bacon (Dailen) is probably the fastest kid in district and can run by any DB out there and his hands are improving. Both are D1 talents. Huffman has 2 linemen that are D1 talents in my opinion. One has several D1 offers and the other should. After these 4 kids, the well is pretty dry. #13 is very well rounded football player. Everyone else is just a guy on the team. They are so far below average on defense it's crazy the OCs haven't exploited them more. Why do you think they went to a 5 man front? Because they can't stop running water with 4. Obviously teams should be picking them apart in the air, but no teams in this district can pass the ball so they are getting away with it. Vidor is a bad matchup for Huffman. I feel they will wear them down and run away with it at the end. I think all these Huffman players need to get off their phones and worry about the game and not a blog. AggiesAreWe, Robhoggins, Arch for MVP and 4 others 6 1 Quote

Going to be an interesting game Friday for sure, its homecoming so if you are going and never been, get there early Vidor has alot of construction going on at the school rn so parking is a little sporadic, and DONT LEAVE STANDS AT HALFTIME lol Quote

Seems like if there was a way around it other teams would have tried it Quote

The only problem was they they couldn't play defense themselves. Vidor sees nothing but 5,6, or 7 man fronts all year. This will be no different from for them. I want Huffman to win, I really do. I just don't think they have a chance in hell of slowing Vidor down. And you better hope QB1 makes it back or it will be a blowout. Arch for MVP 1 Quote
Porter Posted 21 hours ago Report Posted 21 hours ago 5 hours ago, FootballLover2 said: This game will be a clear Huffman domination. Vidor is not a team Huffman will struggle with. After the change to their defensive scheme they've seemed to turn things around and Huffman's offense will remain explosive for the whole season. Vidor's defense just doesn't match up well against the Falcons, and their little gimmick offense will struggle the way Huffman has been playing. Huffman has proved that they can turn things around vs an offense like that in their game vs Shepherd, they just didn't come out with the same fire as they did in the second half. I think this is an easy W for Huffman. Sure would suck to lose to a gimmick offense. Lol Quote

No reason a Houston area school shouldn't be considered at the top of this district every single year. The athletic pool to choose from is WAY deeper. And technically should maul this vidor team. But this vidor team is better coached and scrappy. This Huffman team is poorly coached and slower minus 2 or 3 guys Agreed forum follies trying to stir the pot. Also agree with Huffman they're a Houston school in a very weak district they should be at the top of this district. LCM is young and scrappy will probably win it the next few years. Vidor getting their groove back and a well coached team. BC is better than their record and will be better next year with Chambless at QB and a huge senior class. Rest of the district is pretty weak. I've just sat back and laughed at most of this thread but since this is the 2nd or 3rd time I've heard this mentioned, can you please explain how Huffman is a "Houston school"? Like what does that even mean and specifically how should that directly translate to having a better football team? AggiesAreWe and Mr. Buddy Garrity 2 Quote

I can throw a rock twice from my house and hit the Liberty County line. Are we in Harris County? Yes. Would anyone from Huffman claim to be a Houston area school? Hell no. They'd probably be fighting mad lol. Most folks here live on a minimum of 2-3 acres. That's about as far from "Houston" as it gets. I still haven't heard an explanation as to why this means Huffman should dominate the district in football. But I am genuinely curious to hear it. I look forward to picking the explanation apart. setxathlete14 1 Quote

Houston area talent pool. (Harris) county population wise you out number almost every school in this district by a significant margin? Pure guess there on numbers but thats my gist there. Edit: short Google search Harris County has a population of approximately 4.84 to 5.09 million residents, making it vastly larger than Orange County (about 86,500 residents) and Hardin County (about 58,800 residents) combined.
