It makes most of the 1000s of squabbling posts meaningless compared to what really matters. Good to know those/us that disagree can lift each other up in prayer when needed. Thank you for those sentiments, mat. Quote
Porter Posted Tuesday at 09:28 PM Report Posted Tuesday at 09:28 PM There are Republicans angry that Trump didn't say nice things about Mueller upon his death. These Republicans have always been about some sense they have of honor and dignity. As long as Democrats are polite about destroying you, or Trump, or even Republicans, these Republicans will be proud to say nice things about them. This was the Bush way. The Romney way. Better to lose with grace and give up your country than be impolite. The American people do not respect the Swamp the way these Republicans do. That's the difference. This is the Trump/Establishment divide. Simple as that. Michael Berry Reagan 1 Quote

Do you Trump fanatics out there wish for, or celebrate your “enemies” deaths? This kind of hatred is tearing our country as well as our international standing apart. It is literally coming from the top. When will enough be enough? If someone came after you relentlessly using known falsehoods, you probably wouldn’t give two 💩’s if that person croaked. And I’m sure that’s how the majority of people feel, whether or not they admit to it. Trump just has the cajones to come out and say it? Quote

I take no joy in anyone’s death, nor do I ever wish for anyone’s death. If you’re right, and a majority of people are Christians, is it any wonder church attendance is falling in this country? Jesus teaches forgiveness and compassion, two things I can’t find in one plank of the Republican platform. You think we’re not going to pay for electing a blasphemer to lead us? Read your Bible. God can use anyone. In Numbers 22:21-39 God used a donkey in to rebuke Balaam, who was acting against his will. The donkey saw an angel of the Lord blocking their path and, after being beaten for stopping, was given the ability by God to speak and defend herself, ultimately saving Balaam's life. If he can use a Donkey, he can use Donald Trump. Of course Trump does act like a Donkey sometimes. Maybe you should read your Bible. Matthew 7:3: "Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?" Quote

What could he do that would make you say “hold on… that’s too far and I can’t support this guy.” I think that there are a lot of people here who have no such line. There’s nothing that they can imagine that would ever cause them to stop supporting Trump unequivocally. I don’t know what that line is for me. I don’t really support him, per sé. I didn’t like him before, I absolutely can’t stand him now, and he’s doing a really good job of setting the Dems up for retaking power, which is terrifying. That said, the far left (which is somehow just becoming “the left” and driving party policy) is so indefensibly insane that I’d still take Trump over the alternative. I was fairly liberal in my early 20s. By the time I hit 30 I was what I considered a “radical moderate”, meaning I had strong beliefs that aligned with both sides. For the past decade I’ve considered myself a libertarian, but with no realistic traction in that party I vote right. The ONLY shot the right has of keeping control after the outrage Trump has continually sparked is the fact that the left has become absolutely goofy, meaning moderates and swing voters can’t just write off the right because of Trump’s behavior (and if we’re honest, shaky second term). If the Dems would get rid of all the kooks and took a hard look at Fetterman and modeled themselves after him they’d win EVERY branch in a landslide and might stay in power for the next 50 years.
