OlDawg Posted Saturday at 12:35 AM Report Posted Saturday at 12:35 AM Peyton Smith is starting to impress. I've heard he's been working very hard. I'd love to see him involved in the offense more. He received offers from Oklahoma State and Stanford this month to up his total offers to 15 so far, and is actually ranked ahead of Sean Simon right now at #6 overall recruit in Texas for 2028. Sean Simon is currently #8. This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up Quote

tcufrog Posted 12 hours ago Report Posted 12 hours ago Any word on how teams are looking this spring? Will the top 4 come from? LaPorte Port Arthur Memorial Beaumont West Brook Lufkin Beaumont United Who could sneak in the top 4? 6A New Caney, played lots of young kids last year, didn't have a lot of success but will those youngsters develop? I know that they played BH early and were somewhat competitive. Don't know much about them or what GCM has coming back, but either look like they could be in the mix with a little improvement. Will be an interesting race I feel like. 9 teams is brutal Quote
PackAttack Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago Lufkin will have a truckload of sophomores and juniors playing this year. The Panthers get back the bulk of their defense from 2025, however just two or three starters return on offense, two on the OL and at TE. I honestly can't evaluate much from the three partial Spring practices I've looked in on. Lot of young guys and raw talent that needs to get a bunch of experience. If Abseck wasn't the coach I might look at this as a retooling year, we'll see. He is all about building and sure has them working hard. Quote

Not sure if I'll attend Orange & White game as it will be missing some key players that are still in baseball playoffs, and the Area PO's are this week--same time as the Spring game. I’m cautiously optimistic they’ll have the lines rebuilt. I’d love to see the QB more involved in the O. He’s too skilled to just hand off with an occasional throw. Quote
