Close one. Porter was amazing. Willed his way for tough yardage all night even though the defense was totally keyed in on him. Then that TD catch was super clutch.

I saw at least 2 holding calls at critical moments that I thought were questionable. Not saying they were bad calls. Just saying I didn't see what they saw

Newton wins tonight if they don't shoot themselves in the foot on 3rd downs with false starts. Coach burnt 2 timeouts when hh didn't need to. Newton had they're chances but could get out they're own way.

Yea running the same offense from the 90s, have to be more creative man smh. Never really cared for their basic offense just because when the time comes to throw and the clock being your enemy they are in trouble.

To be fair Wall wasn't a rushing team Newton played a good game defensively special teams penalties and turnovers really hurt tonight

You could tell Wall was a well coached team. This will usually be the deciding factor.

Great season, good year for the eagles, good job coaching. Proud of our coaches and players. We get a lot of kids back next years, we knocked on the door, next year we will kick it down.

Newton had no business losing this game. Even with Wall having 9 or 10 in the box, they still were chewing them up running around the edges. They just ran straight up the middle too often.

And even with all that, they out gained Wall by 2 to 1 probably. Trick play and a blocked punt for a TD early and Wall held on for dear life the rest of the way

Yea that's basically it there. They got up by two scores early and their defense was good enough that Newton couldn't score quickly enough before they ran out of time.

I can’t say I followed Newton closely through the season but I expected a win considering their blowouts. Too many miscues for them to overcome. With a freshman QB, they should be dangerous and more balanced for a few years. Great season.

That sucks. It would feel a lot better to beat one of those (especially Gunter) in the state game.
