Lamar Baseball 2026

We will learn of Lamar's destination in about 2 hours. Changes to the projection have occurred. The Arkansas projection of the 16th seed did not hold up and Mississippi State was named as a site and is likely the final host seed team. Baseball America has the Cards in that regional. D1 Baseball has them now going to College Station.

Interesting if it holds up...both sites have Oregon State in the Oregon Regional. What a miracle that the seeding could work out so perfectly to match these 2 (yes, sarcasm on my part).  Note: the tournament will have seeding for the top 32 teams for the first time. 

The most sought after ticket could be Arkansas at Nebraska in the 2nd day if that projection holds and both win the first day. Site distance for Arkansas may make them the "favorite" for largest visiting team fan numbers in the first round. 

If the D1 projection holds Aggie fans should be happy at the opportunity that sits in front of them. Will hope Lamar can pull an upset, but the other 2 are Cincinnati and Boston College. Both had quality season, but A&M should be a massive favorite overall. The bracket matches up with the Alabama Regional and Arizona State could take that one. If so, Aggies could host a Super as well. 

Almost all above is likely meaningless, as the odds of all 64 teams falling in the projected slots makes the word unlikely an insufficient term.

Very impressed with how some people absorb information. I can’t even keep up. I’m more of the type….will I get to see Lamar play on tv? Lol

On the contrary. I’m not easily impressed. I simply have trouble keeping up with my own team, much less the magnitude of info involving all teams. Even when I read some of the outcomes and seeding/hostings, it’s confusing. I haven’t been to Lamar’s stadium since the Golden Gator years. I was in attendance when the San Diego Chicken was there….SRO.

I had season tickets for the Gators.

Loved Wednesday night games. 50 cent 32 ounce beer night. Draft beer in a 32 ounce souvenir cup (had to purchase the cup for $3, but refills for .50ct) . My kind of night. Think I ended up with over 20 of those cups. lol

I remember the Chicken games. Was there for both appearances.

I stood by the fence between 3rd base dugout and the HR wall. At that time, I didn’t realize the future famous players that were on that team. I am a Lamar fan too, just not in attendance.

Lamar in the College Station regional as the #4 seed.

A&M is #1 seed, USC is #2, Texas State is #3.

Lamar will play A&M in first game.

LU vs. A&M is scheduled for Friday night on the SEC Network at 3:00 PM.  Thought it a bit odd that A&M as the host would play the early game, but I assume the network set the time for broadcasting purposes.

I just hope Lamar doesn’t get beat as bad as they did during the regular season. They will probably go 0-2 but it is great to see them get into a regional. It has been a long time coming

We all know the odds are stacked against Lamar, but you still hope they win, unless you’re an Aggie, but that understandable.

Uncle Spidey you may get your wish. Davis is speculated as 1 of 3 finalist for UH job that could be filled tomorrow. He was on staff at LSU at the same time the present UH AD was on the LSU athletics staff.

We shall see.

Baddog, that is not a negative post. Hoping they don’t get beat as bad as regular season isn’t negative. Also the post said that it is great to see them in a regional. I would love to see them win, however that is not likely. They will not beat A&M or USC and Texas State is very iffy.

Speculation is getting stronger. Davis will likely be named today. Portal opens Monday. Let the new hire speculation Lamar begin soon. I have 2 favorites.
