purple reign Posted November 11 Report Posted November 11 College station will make the long trip to Angleton to take on the Wildcats after finishing the regular season a week early on Halloween at home against Weiss, a game which I watched. They would not have won that game without forcing 4 turnovers by Weiss in the second half, all of which they turned into points. They are not a very big team but have a 275-pound kicker. Rushing seems to be their forte although they do pass some and they run a lot of QB keepers. They used 2 QBs in the game. Angleton will have to protect the ball to have success. They seemed to have trouble stopping the pass, but Weiss had a number of dropped passes in the second half. Angleton, after losing their QB will probably mostly run too. I assume we will see a lot of wildcat plays and hopefully may get some special teams scores. It will be interesting to see what jV players will be called up. Congratulations to the Angleton JV and freshmen teams for finising as 10-0 district champions. OlDawg 1 Quote
Guest AledoAlumni Posted November 11 Report Posted November 11 Is y'all's QB out for the year? Also, even though CS has had a down year by their standards, they played in a good district and will be prepared. I think this will be a very good game. Quote

Broken collar bone I believe I read before the La Porte game. Quote

Coach Brittain has refused to give a progress report saying it is a violation of law to do so with a minor but I assume he's out for the season. He was having such a good season as a senior that I don't know what this will do for his college recruiting. It's a shame that the 2nd string guy, Trey Gardner, is also out for the season as he could use the experience as he will probably be the starter next year. Quote
purple reign Posted November 12 Author Report Posted November 12 The game will be streamed on NFHS. Massey Ratings predict: Angleton 41, College Station 35 Quote

I've searched the Austin Statesmen and some Pflugerville papers but nothing. I watched Weiss play Beaumont United a few years ago. Fans traveled well. Quote

All the Central Texas writers are picking La Porte to win. It's understandable, Weiss football program isn't even 10 years old yet and La Porte is a power house program. Our fans have traveled well this year, but idk how many will make the 3hr trek to be honest. Quote

It sometimes takes hours to get across Houston during rush hours. consult Transtar to find the best route: This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up Quote
