He was down with the ref staring right at him.

It happened right in front of me and it was very close, but I thought he was still up as he handed it off, but I can see the argument the other way. Both teams left it all on the field and had multiple opportunities to win. Heck off an exciting game. Dayton will need to clean up the penalties to get where they want to go.

Impressed on how Ned played tonight ( hope their hurt players are Ok)  100% Dayton needs to clean up penalties and grow a defense.

I will say that Coach Rich and the staff have the Dogs playing hard and not giving up. We saw 2 nice offenses and 2 of the worst defenses in district. Looks like the Dogs are going to have a tough road to make the playoffs this season. Hopefully they can beat West Fork and Lake Creek and come in 5th. I would like to believe they could upset Huntsville or Montgomery or both, however after seeing their defense tonight I just don’t think it is going to happen

Huntsville is scary fast, and their outside run is lethal. I don’t think they lose the rest of the regular season. Montgomery is the only one I’m still iffy about versus Huntsville

I thought after the Lumberton and WOS games that Big Ned’s defense was going to be good. Boy I missed that one badly, they are absolutely horrible poor tackling making Dayton’s RB look like an all American He is good, but not that good

So, Dayton got a free TD, on their own kickoff, and a fumble recovery for a touchdown, that’s fourteen points that the defense didn’t give up. Then after being down 28-7 in the third quarter held Daytons offense three times so Nederland could tie the game and make a game out of it. I wasn’t there, but after reading this thread it sounds like Big Ned’s defense did do a little bit of something?

The refs wanted to go home

We have been on the wrong end of one of these also. In OT, in the playoffs, but ours was a little better defined with the one being down. We know how yall feel.

After reading alot of this hoop-la and scutter about this game I got to  put a  plug in for Dayton. First of all Dayton didn't  get any free TD's  you can't punish a team for playing smarter than the other team. Then you have some peeps say  Daytons  RB( Foster) isn't really all that ' it just that Neds defense made him look good. For the record this was one of his down games  he usually puts up better numbers and thats against 5a1 playoff teams. Dayton came into  a hostile environment played hard and  played smart and came out with the win and thats the bottom line. You can cry about a snap shot but in the scheme of things Ned got their fair share of good calls too !
