Well im hoping for a change my friend, but i dont think it happens.. and no offense, but kilgore can score whatever they want on 99% of 4AD1 so not a great example but i see your point

The point is Kilgore throttled Vidor 66-6 last year and that it wiuld be worse this year. The program is sinking deeper and deeper.

A coach with a 117-124  career record was able to tell the superintendant  to hire his best friend as his replacement . In order to keep Vidor in the slot-T which averages around 5 wins a year. Low standards

Vidor might as well give up the slot T/wing t thing and just run a normal offense. You can’t run a Liberty Hill-style offense without Liberty Hill’s execution and discipline. Vidor’s never been at that level. They could, but they haven’t yet.

Even ex liberty hill coach Kent Walker (now with blanco) has figured out the slot-T has ran its course. He is transitioning slowly into other formations

The Mathew’s/DuBois love fest has to end! It’s time to play modern football! I’m an option guy at heart, but it’s becoming obsolete in anything above 2A-D1. It may’ve worked at Haley Field. It did…! VISD needs to get serious about football or squander kid’s want to and ability every year, it’s there! Look around the state, there are schools exactly like OUrs playing real football at a very high level, not 5/5 or 4/6 and getting *b*slapped in the 1st rd and calling it a good season. Look, I’ve heard the excuses and I could go on and on…. But right now, there’s not enough canvas in America to cover this circus!

Vidor kids are more worried about taking pics at the end of the game than they are playing.  Good job baby, you just got blown out

The problem isn't the wing -t. The defense can't stop anyone. My thought is that the lack of defense is impacting the play calling on offense. They have to figure out how to stop the run and that has to come from the defensive scheme.

The problem is kids aren’t motivated. Kids need excitement to keep them motivated. It’s only going to get worse before it gets better. Parents, supporters need to voice their opinions, thoughts, and concerns to the administrators and school board. Vidor needs a fresh set of coaches that will lite a fire back in the program. Cause right now…. It’s pathetic.

The Slot-T hasnt worked except for when Vidor had the Quirantes. Its not just the Slot-T, its also the mindset it has Vidor stuck in . The mindset where 4-6 is good enough and the kids arent good enough to run something else. Look at Orangefield, Bridge City, Lumberton etc., teams that switched from running offenses to a more open game plan and it worked out good for them. The Slot-T is a gimmick offense that worked before it became so wide spread, tge defenses have it figured out. Supt. Jay Kilgo got persuaded by Mathews to hire Dubois so the offense would stay the same. Mathews cant let go of the control and is still in charge of the program from my perspective.

Correct a long time ago ..  The excuse for using this offense was alwahys, "we are the smallest enrollment in distdict, it helps us compete ". Now they are the largest enrollment in  district , so why do they still use it ?

How, instead of calling play #4 they call play #2 ?  Or is it they call play #3 instead of play #1 ? The offense isnt working and people are still defending it. That mentality is the problem.

I know for a fact that as of today (9/8/2025) emails have been sent to school board members and the superintendent... and more will be sent.  People are not happy and finally some are starting to speak out. Will it do any good...not sure... but it's better than nothing.
