all those students have been vetted by ccp…only students who have the right connections in the ccp and will do what they want….(intelligence) are getting to come.

Bad move. IP theft from the Chinese has been rampant. They’ve been caught stealing research from MD Anderson for years, and again just days ago.

Not sure how the Trump camp can think this is a good idea. SMH

It’s all about the Deal, Deal. If not that, it’s Nobel. I’m still miffed about Intel.

How would people feel about President AOC or Mamdani taking a large ownership stake in United Healthcare? He’s just opened the door, and made it a lot easier and acceptable.

That’s why people should always think about the worst that could happen. Not just right now.

Let’s assume arguendo that this is correct. They are here to spy and have been vetted for such.

According to the article there are already 270,000 CCP students in the US. Let’s go with the intelligence gathering numbers. Some students may just be well connected and are actually here to learn with no intelligence gathering assignment.

So being conservative we can put the current number of spies acting as students at 150,000. That leaves 120,000 actual students currently in the country.

I am thinking that spies are not going to be in Groves trying to find out the current prices of Blue Bell ice cream at HEB. More likely they are going to be in cities with perhaps technology jobs, government contracts or obviously research universities since they are students.

Cities the size of Kountze or Nederland are going to have research universities or any likely government contracts. Restricting this intelligence gathering to cites with over 100,000 people (like Beaumont), the CCP students have 346 US cities to choose from.

Under our current situation with only slightly over half of the CCP students acting as spies, each of those cities already has over 400 spies. So Beaumont, TX has 400 Chinese spies masquerading as students. If all of the 270,000 students are spies as you suggest, we currently have almost 800 CCP spies in every city in the US with over 100,000 people.

So under your scenario, Beaumont could currently have about 800 CCP spies but it could balloon to over 1,000 if Trump strikes a deal.

Really?

If the current 270,000 trained spies are getting the intelligence…….

EDIT: Tpyo

I don't think any MAGA would agree with this.  I do trust Trump.  So, is this a ploy of some sort?  Who knows.  But if this is real, I would suggest contacting your Congressman and Senators about this.

The bottom line, if true, is that any student from China is required to spy when in the US.  I don't think anyone can reasonably doubt this!

Just a Google search. 600,000 students seems like a lot.

Chinese universities are rapidly improving in global rankings due to massive government investment and research output, while U.S. universities remain strong but are improving at a slower pace. Key differences include the heavily standardized, high-pressure Chinese admission system versus a more holistic U.S. approach, the greater government control in China's education system compared to U.S. university autonomy, and lower tuition costs and living expenses in China.

Key Differences
  • Admissions:

    • U.S.: U.S. universities use a more holistic approach, considering grades, essays, extracurriculars, and other factors for admission.

  • Government Influence:
    • China: The government heavily influences higher education and research through initiatives and directives.

    • U.S.: U.S. universities have greater autonomy, though they are overseen by government-appointed accrediting agencies and have governing boards.

  • Cost:
    • China: Tuition and living costs, including food and dorms, are significantly lower than in the U.S.

    • U.S.: Public and private universities in the U.S. typically have much higher tuition and living expenses.

  • Curriculum and Focus:
    • China: The curriculum is often focused on deeper learning in a narrower set of subjects, with less emphasis on optional courses.

    • U.S.: There is a greater emphasis on creativity and a broader, more flexible curriculum, often with a wide range of optional courses.

  • Campus Environment:
    • China: Campuses often have a more controlled environment, with gates and walls, and the academic atmosphere can be more structured.

    • U.S.: Campuses are generally more open and diverse, and the culture emphasizes meritocracy and cultural inclusivity.

Recent Trends
  • Rising Global Reputation:
Chinese universities have seen a dramatic rise in global rankings due to focused government investment in scientific research, leading to higher research productivity.

  • Quality of Education:
While U.S. universities continue to improve, they are doing so at a slower pace than many Asian universities, particularly in China.

  • International Recognition:
Chinese academic qualifications are increasingly recognized internationally, with many universities offering programs taught in English to attract international students

My last post on university comparisons was to really ask the question…..why doesn’t China (and other countries) educate their own? We have more Indian (not native) students than Chinese and India hasn’t been much of a friend lately. Why come here? As of late, I question the “higher learning” of our schools. I’ve posted videos of college students who can’t tell you how many moons earth has, and the higher learning schools are woke and antisemitic, so exactly what is the attraction for over half a million students?

I’m a Trump supporter, but this throws up some red flags. Funny…..libs never question their leaders.

I like many of his policies. But, a few of these lately have been head scratchers. He's become too desirous of a deal, and is giving up too much of the farm to try and get one. He's already postponed the banishment/sale of TikTok after everyone saying what a security threat it is, and passed a law to ban it. Now, he's willing to accept students--at research facilities no less--when he knows they're asked to spy. All in the name of some deal the Chinese will never live up to anyway.

As the supposed King of the Deal, he needs to recognize when the best deal may be no deal. Get your personal ego out of the way, and think longer term.

That last bit you stated says everything.

Our whole relationship with China is weird. We owe them close to $trillion and they sell us rare earth materials to build bombs to use against them. Visa students count on the census, so let’s see where they go. Probably some more gerrymandering to be done.

It's difficult for you because you're not thinking like the Chinese. They play the long game. They--and I'm quite sure continue to--believe we will implode. (They may be correct.)

  1. They have an abundance of rare earth minerals. We do not.
  2. They have a shortage of technical talent.
  3. We have a shortage of rare earth minerals.
  4. They sell us the rare earth minerals. We develop the tech.
  5. They can easily buy, bribe, steal, and/or copy at a much quicker pace than internal development.
  6. They have a labor force than can easily ramp up production, and almost unlimited funding to do so.
  7. They want as much tech from us as they can get before our implosion.
  8. They are counting on our greed, short-sightedness, and laziness (compared to them) to be our downfall.
  9. They aren't concerned with a military confrontation because they know it won't come to that.
  10. To them, we are a very young culture.
  11. They play the long game. Our system dictates we play in basically 2 year cycles.

I know they have more rare earth materials than we do, hence why it’s weird to sell us materials that we use for military purposes. It’s not difficult to see the irony.

XL TACO. So much for being hard on immigration. Who needs a wall when you have open skies.  Trump made a big issue about china and about COVID. What a joke.  How do you go from warning to putting 200% tariffs on China to opening our borders to allow there kids to attend our colleges while at the same time removing other nations from our colleges.  How does the Make America Great?   I believe this con man is running on fumes and is looking for an exit ramp.  Either way midterms have already been decided.  His MAGA cult are getting fed up with his antics.  Marjorie is pulling her hair out.

illegals < Spies

So, what if the Chinese students come here and many are found to be spies, do you agree to deport them, or do you defend them with constitutional rights like Abrego Garcia? You can’t have it both ways, but you will try. MS-13 is labeled as a terrorist organization. Terrorists =/> Spies. I say deport them all.

Why are you questioning me? I already said this makes no sense. MAGA is not falling apart. It’s simply a questionable move. Why do spies scare you when terrorist don’t? Chinese nationalists came across Biden’s open borders in droves. No concern then. You hypocrites kill me with your fake outrage.
