rupert3 Posted June 4 Report Posted June 4 Hader came in several times with no save opportunities. What a difference a year makes. Quote
rupert3 Posted June 5 Report Posted June 5 Opposite of last night lose 3-0. Not much to talk about except Gusto just didn't have it. We left too many on base. Quote

Lol Astros pretty vague on pitcher’s returns. Need Javier, Garcia, Arrighetti, France…..I know Blanco is next year with Tommy John. Quote

Statistically speaking, Houston is the best team and currently playing the best in the AL West. baddog and rupert3 2 Quote
baddog Posted June 6 Author Report Posted June 6 Dubón guns down 2 runners @ 2nd base from LF. Unbelievable! rupert3 1 Quote
rupert3 Posted June 7 Report Posted June 7 Overcame a late night game and 3:30 am flight to win 2 games in one day. Two different teams Quote
baddog Posted June 7 Author Report Posted June 7 Angels beat the Mariners. Astros now 2.5 games in 1st place. Quote
baddog Posted June 7 Author Report Posted June 7 Okert comes into the game with bases loaded and 1 out. He gets 2 Ks to end the threat and the inning. I call that major league pitching. Astros win 5-3 in 10. Brown with a ND. rupert3 1 Quote
rupert3 Posted June 7 Report Posted June 7 Hader win Sousa save great comeback from tie wasted Hunter Gem 3 games up baddog 1 Quote
AggiesAreWe Posted June 7 Report Posted June 7 Brown had a so so start. Had 5 BB and a hit batter in 5 1/3. Did have 9 k's but struggled with control today. Still only gave up one run. Had over 100 pitches in that 5 1/3. That's very un-Brown like. baddog 1 Quote
rupert3 Posted June 7 Report Posted June 7 Umpire had a crazy strike zone but for both teams. So hunter had a so so game. He pitched well enough to win but didn't. Still nice win. 8 over 500 good enough for 4th in MLB I believe. Quote
baddog Posted June 8 Author Report Posted June 8 Sousa got screwed big time on what should have been a called 3rd strike to end the game. That slider clearly got inside the box. Oh well, already have the series, go for the sweep tomorrow. rupert3 1 Quote
baddog Posted June 8 Author Report Posted June 8 Mariners lose again. Astros lead by 3.5. rupert3 1 Quote
baddog Posted June 8 Author Report Posted June 8 I’ve never understood why a pitcher can’t throw to first base after fielding a ball. Did he throw a slider? Okert not so good today. Quote
rupert3 Posted June 8 Report Posted June 8 No aweep this time 4-2. Had a couple of chances later but not Okert loses Quote
AggiesAreWe Posted June 8 Report Posted June 8 Astros kinda mailed this one in. Gave Altuve the day off, sat Rodgers and played Whitcomb at 2nd, used Pena as the DH and had Dubon at SS and played Melton in LF. Houston was 1-8 with runners in scoring position (Dubon 0-2, Melton 0-3, Smith 1-3) I thought Walter did a good job starting, giving up 2 runs on 6 hits thru 6 innings. Quote
baddog Posted June 9 Author Report Posted June 9 Never thought I’d be saying this, but Myers is my favorite player right now, then Peña. Those two hustle every play and every hit. Mariners win so it’s back to 2.5 lead. Quote
