Get a little better at blocking and tackling. Improve on catching the ball and running the ball while also making some gains passing the ball. If they can do this, they should improve. spidersal Posted February 23, 2025 Report Posted February 23, 2025 They better get tremendously better on defense. They haven’t played good defense in the past 7-8 years. They need some coaches to teach secondary players how to play. Those positions have been extremely bad. LB’er play hasn’t been much better. Also have to get the OL much better and find a QB and receivers. The new coaching staff will hopefully teach for improvement Quote

spidersal Posted February 23, 2025 Report Posted February 23, 2025 The Bulldogs had a good defensive end that some called a LB’er, however he was a defensive end. One of the LB’ers was decent, but the smaller one was not good(I don’t know if I ever saw him make a tackle). He started but looked like he was afraid of contact. He must have started after the one they said was good got hurt in the 1st game and was out the remainder of the season I am sure they had some good moments but nothing great. Certainly didn’t play well vs Texas High, Huntsville, Montgomery, Silsbee, or Lake Creek. The defense was pretty poor in those games! Rez 1 Quote
outanup Posted February 23, 2025 Report Posted February 23, 2025 Definitely need to improve defensively. With that said, we didn't have the jimmy's and joe's in the trenches imo. I think we will see improvement as Rich will have a full year and whole offseason to implement his philosophy. Got some good ones coming up through the pipeline, but this season will see a bunch of youngsters and a new qb. Growing pains. Quote

The construction is far away from the new school lol there was a photo posted… I wanna say the old cafeteria will be transformed into a very large open weight room, dome gym into a indoor practice facility… band/drill team is getting their own field to practice on which will be on the corner of spurlock and 18th.. I wish I could find the picture the school district posted a while back… Quote
