Expand Get real, Baytown doesn't want to be Barbers Hill, where your HFC just got fired because he refused to give your Supt's son playing time the kid didn't earn, and the whole town is OK with it. No thanks on the GCM job offer, BTW. If I enjoyed no-win situations I coulda just stayed with my 1st wife and had that with a lot less work.

Expand But those two good-sized subdivisions are also being built right behind GCM, so unless the proposed high school rezoning goes through to "fix" the enrollment numbers to put all three schools at 5A again, those new houses might keep GCM in 6A. Everyone knew going in that football in that district for GCM was going to be rough, but I think some of the other sports have done better. I'm looking forward to baseball season this year with our new 6A friends. I'm just glad Kingwood is our furthest away game and there's no long trips to PA, PNG and Nederland on a work/school night this year. Goslin 1

I have watched BH since they were 2A and heard the same rhetoric each time they move up. BH will struggle as they enter 6A, but give them 5 years and as their enrollment grows to match the schools they are playing they will be competitive. I don’t think they could ever be North Shore or Summer Creek, but they were able to compete with Summer Creek and beat CEK when they were in the district with each other. You can’t look at the schools as they sit today BH will grow like they always have. Goslin and Separation Scientist 1 1

I literally couldn’t have told you the coach’s name until he left. I just know they have got a good base of kids and solid facilities, a lot of money, and a lot of growth. They’ve got a lot of obvious problems and their leadership is an embarrassing dumpster fire, but I still think they’ll be competitive in less than 5 years after joining 6A. We’re talking 6 to 7 years from now. A LOT can change in way less time. BHFAN 1
