  1. GCM defeated Sterling 7-4 last night in the makeup game from Tuesday for their first district win of the season. Great pitching from Easton Brunson and Blake Smith for GCM. Same two teams playing again tonight at Sterling in what is the last meaningful game between these two schools, at least for the foreseeable future.
  2. I would agree about GCM. Most of their games have been close, usually decided in the last inning or two on one play, like the walkoff passed ball last night. They had the potential winning run taken off the board in the top of the 7th on a questionable running lane interference call which looked like an E-3 to me instead of interference. At least that's what I think that's what the call was...the cold 20+ mph wind blowing straight in from CF sometimes made it hard to concentrate on the game. Their tough schedule front loaded with the top four teams in the district in the first four weeks certainly didn't help either. Now they get the opportunity to play spoiler against PNG on Friday at home and Sterling next week, which should be all good games.
