Some nominations for this week's award:

1.  Mark Serna (West Brook) -- The senior OF went 13-23 (.565) with 5 2B and 1 HR and 14 RBI.  He also scored 7 runs.  That's right ... 13 hits this week alone and 14 RBIs this week alone.  Remarkable production.

2.  Todd Wallace (West Brook) -- the junior C/RHP went 8-12 (.667) with 4 2B and 1 HR with 5 RBI.  He also won a game on the mound for the Bruins.

3.  Johnny Dishon (Bridge City) -- the senior OF went yard 3 times this week, including a grand slam.

4.  Jeff Stringer (Bridge City) -- the senior LHP no hit the previous #1 Nederland Bulldogs in their own park.  Flashing an upper 80s fastball and very hard breaking pitch, he was, in fact, unhittable.

I am sure there were other very good performances over the past week; however, these guys excelled.  Best of luck to all this coming week.

Ryan Ellis from Jasper.  Complete game vs. Kelly, 11 innings (yes, 11 innings), 4 hits, 1 walk, 12 k's, 0 ER, won 2-1.

WOW thats amazing just hand him player of the week right now. Who cares if you go 14-17 with 11 HR's and 40 RBI's...if you pitch 11 innings thats awesome.

Yea its amazing but who would you pitch a good pitcher 11 innings he might get the job done but why not let his arm have a break. Not a good idea
