Good win for the Cards. Cards drew first blood by returning the opening kickoff for a TD, but HF returned the favor. Their RB 24 was wrapped up and taken down, but somehow managed to roll off of our defender and break free for a long TD.  I'd also like to say that both teams seemed to play a clean game between the whistles. The Longhorns just seemed to be undersized and outmatched in this particular game, but they never gave up and had some good moments, particularly the play of their 24 as well as their mid-range passing attack.

For us... The cards didn't play very disciplined football last night. It's the first game of the season, but we still had too many procedural penalties last night for a group that's this senior-heavy. It won't be as easy to make up those five-yard setbacks as the competition gets tougher. The RBs for BC have speed across the board. The score was 49-15 when the skilled positions on offense were benched before the end of the first half. Classy move by Coach Dubois, but I hope we have time to settle into a mid-season groove before that two week break in late September.

Great start to what I expect to be a good season for the Cards. I felt like we needed a win like this over HF if we expect to contend for a playoff spot.

Pew Research released on Apr. 30 a report exploring support for presidential candidates sorted by religious affiliation. The poll found that 55% of Catholics support or lean towards supporting former President Donald Trump in a head-to-head against Biden. Conversely, only 45% of Catholics support Biden in the same one-on-one pairing. The 12% margin of support in favor of Trump marks a significant shift from 2020, when he held an extremely narrow lead — 50% to 49%. Biden currently leads among Hispanic Catholics with a narrow 49%-47% split, but the close contest marks a major shift rightward for the demographic. In 2020, a similar poll from Pew Research found Hispanic Catholics preferred Biden to Trump with a staggering 67%-26% split.
    • You said a lot there. Truthfully, that is the root of the issue. Who cares what a kid thinks about how coaches are running a program? Kids play, coaches coach. For some reason, parents have this backward in a lot of places and its wreaking havoc.
    • He's already stated he's a huge Clinton fan.
    • If the red hat fits, wear it.    It helps the rest of us figure out who the morons are before they open their mouths and make it obvious.
    • Coaches can't be in the dugout to coach, but the coaches are setting the schedule. The coaches are organizing it. The coaches are setting the lineup in advance. The coaches are determining who is pitching and how many pitches they are throwing. Fall baseball is like 7 on 7. The coaches may not be calling he pitches or the plays, but they are in "control" of the situation and they are present and "observing."
