Much respect for Silsbee. My Grandfather graduated from Silsbee back in 1943 were he was a starter on the basketball team. He is 91 years old now and still fondly talks about his days playing in Silsb

This will be a game where both teams are looking for answers after talent graduated. While both teams are wanting the win, both teams are looking for improvement from the two scrimmages. Silsbee may have an edge in the skill positions and PNG may have an edge in lineman. Both teams are looking for an improved defense. Silsbee will travel to the Reservation against a very hostile crowd and play in one of the most lop sided stadiums in SETX, where most will say the visiting team is down seven points when they get off the bus. What questions will get answers and what improvements will get improved. How will the Silsbee new coaches and new offense and defense react. Two teams with great tradition and history are playing in week one is just one game of several great week one games in SETX. I think there will be a few points scored in this opening season game and of course I'm a homer and pick Silsbee in a good close game. Silsbee 33 PNG 31. TigerNation!!!

they are gonna find out that PNG has a better defense than they have been led to believe, the linebackers wont be arm tackling they will be looking to take someone out! Lejune will have several chances to put some licks on someone for sure. Should be a good game just hope the weather isn't as bad as predicted. I would love to see Johnson come out and establish himself both passing and rushing, if Mczeal and MCgown can get it going should be interesting, not to mention #12, he looks to be a very good receiver himself. Hughes should have a good game and hopefully the backup for him will get some touches also, heard he was pretty quick himself. I am ready for the Soph QB to show us what he has, if we can eliminate the turnovers I think we have a good chance to win the ball game.

      Sure.  You reassign an employee and they leave voluntarily instead of being fired and being open to litigation.  The outcome is the same, but you are making my point.  The superintendent and AD and principal are all empowered to make personnel decisions.  Instead of accepting the decision made, you talk about lawyering up, no one else was reprimanded, railroad job.  I am old enough to remember when high school sports taught life lessons...accountability being chief among them.

      I know absolutely nothing about the situation, but I do know head coaches of sports other than the AD have actual teaching assignments, and I know from my wife having worked in the sped department of multiple schools that it’s not uncommon at all for coaches to shirk those duties.  It could very well be that this was the case at BC.  Or not, I don’t know.  Just bringing this up to point out the fact that, although many coaches only want to worry about coaching, they generally have several other responsibilities at the school.  some of them neglect or ignore these duties entirely.  If he’s been written up for other issues before, it’s a dumb argument to say “he was punished for this and others were not”.  If he had a pile of write ups in his file and they did not then it makes sense that the punishments were different.

      He wasn’t fired, he was reassigned and people get reassigned all the time. If he was actually fired, then you would have a point, but he wasn’t fired. Based on the information presented here no way this would stand if they fired him and he lawyered up.

      I heard the assistant was going to get this job and assume it was referring to the old Vidor coach, Nate Smith.  I always thought he did more with less at Vidor and can't help but think he shares some responsibility in Vidor's recent success.
