15-6a Spring Tx Brawl Aftermath

Head coaches from Spr Westfield/Spring gm brawl suspended 1 game along w/5 Spring fb players & 6 Westfield fb players for up to 3 game suspensions.Westfield w/tall task Sat @ 2 pm vs unbeaten Klein Collins.

Needless to say I don't know the details, but on the face of it, this punishment was needed and appropriate.

This is typical Spring School's student behavior at football and after games. It's good to see the Spring Administration take control of this situation.

Not anywhere close. Probably only lasted 30 seconds . Westfield beat Spring by one point in district play last year then beat them by 5 in the regional final, it's a tough game between kids that know each other well. Spring is an upstart team that was tired of getting bullied by big brother and probably felt like they got shafted on the call.

If the things that have gone on recently around the state on football fields hadn't happened or the teams weren't as high profile then there probably wouldn't be as big a fallout from this incident.
