KMcFarland
I was benched on March 31st for the LCM game. At that point I had 7 HRs, 3 triples, 7 singles, 9 walks, 3 HBP, got out 15 times, and struck out 9 times. I had 25 RBIs. (Plus a 3-run HR in our scrimmage) My parents have every one of my at-bats on video. After that game I asked our coach what I needed to work on. Her answer was, "you need to work on your hitting."I was benched for the next four games. In the 5th game to not start (against BC) there was an error at home that resulted in 2 BC runs scored, then I was put in the game. I started the last two games of district also. I'm glad to see all the girls who received All-District honors. I've had that for the last 3 years and it's okay to not receive it this year. What's more important is that we've enjoyed not only 4 years of competition, but a lifetime of it. I, along with many of the other class of 2015 softball players have been playing since a very young age. We've all crossed paths at some point, if not actually played on the same team. It's sad to see it all end, however, I am moving on to continue playing my sport. My new coaches are incredible people, and having Dot Richardson in my life every day will be amazing. Coach Richardson is the most dynamic person I have ever met. She is inspirational to say the least. This experience re-affirmed to me that God is in control. My position and opportunities are God-given. And His plan is not always my plan. I'm still not sure the lesson in this experience, but I will one day. Congratulations and good luck to all the girls playing in the All-Star game. I hope to be able to keep up with everyone who is continuing to play at the next level! I'm ready!! #getmetoVirginia

crush16
Such a humble approach to the situation by a teenager. It has been a pleasure to see you play the past four years. Hope the next 4 brings even greater accolades.
