Well hello and welcome to all the Hippos that have heard and are interested in a little SETX football thanks to the upcoming contest on the gridiron between the Hutto Hippos and the Crosby Cougars. After reading a brief history of how your town got its mascots name, we too in Crosby have a similar story to how our mascot came to be. You see during the building of our little oasis to the east of Houston the area was filled with Cougars that roamed the land and preyed upon the areas population of Broncos and other equastrian habitat. So the local townsmen and Barrett Station inhabitants feeling sorry for the Bronos corraled them (as usual) and moved them a little further east into the pastures of Liberty County and allowed the Cougars to dominate this piece of real estate and named it Crosby. So as we fast forward to present times, Crosby embarks into unchartered waters (no pun intended to the Hippos) we are extremely excited upon the upcoming matchup between our two communities. So as you explore this website and sift through these threads to gain a little insight on your upcoming foes, be aware of some of the so called experts that will try and deter your impressions of these Coogs. You will read such nonsense on past failures such as: no past playoff success, too many stats not enough wins, or an act like you've been there mentality. Be aware of such threaders as a mouse (rarely seen in these parts now as he is repairing his brakes that got beat the heck off by WO-Stark), a few Indians (should be considered low risk as they are now confined to their reservation), an occassional Dawg or two (tread lightly with these for they tend to moderate a time or two), a liltex (whose harmless and he will try to extract a meal or two so hide your frogs), and then there is Buddy (he'll be there lurking around reporting on your next weeks opponents opponent and how a team in West Texas is doing). So welcome to the site as there is a wealth of knowledge to be gained from such threaders as cougar 44, 88, 02, footballer5408, Northern Lights, 9210, Proud Dawg, and yours truly as well. One last thing, you will read such sayings as #CodeRed or CC TAKEOVER take these to heart and remember them as you will bear witness firsthand what that hype is all about.
