MAYFIELD Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 we have a transfer? we have a transfer? the kid from clear lake he playing jv right now he is #8 Quote
olddadt49 Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 I have heard that he is good and may only need to learn the system. Quote
Proud Dawg Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 Too many people pushing the panic button already. We have to catch the ball. If we can't tackle better, it won't matter who the qb is. Got one more game to figure it out. Sure hope the coaches get it lined out. Quote
MAYFIELD Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 #8 has 5 picks and 5 fumble so far on jv, does have strong arm and does not move well put him where the talent is tho does that change Quote
Michele Posted September 8, 2014 Author Report Posted September 8, 2014 I don't think anyone is panicing. I know Neumann will get things worked out. I would like to see our back up QB get in there and use Sage elsewhere. See what happens. Quote
Michele Posted September 8, 2014 Author Report Posted September 8, 2014 lol...not yet my feathered friend :D Quote
El Guapo Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 Ned takes Clear Lake. No need to panic just yet because 22-5A as a whole is pretty weak this year so Ned will make the playoffs Quote
Baller 93 Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 Nederland needs to go back to the old offense. Put Smith or the transfer @ QB and put Seay at WR & Secondary. Seay is their best athlete he needs to be used both ways. No point of having all these QBs on the team that can't play D and just sit on the sideline and watch. By going back to the old offense we can work the ball on the ground to keep the clock moving and mix in some passing at the same time. Straight execution offense just positive yards every play. Too many times against Dayton, Nederland got no yards or lost yards on 1st time. Does anybody remember the last time Nederland changed to the spread? I do and the first year was a long and disappointing year and after that it didn't get much better. Nederland has won the past 3 district championships since getting out of the spread and going under center. I don't want to hear the personnel excuse, because look at Vidor they got small, nonathletic kids playing line every year and still run the same offense. Mr. Buddy Garrity 1 Quote
Gabe Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 I agree on sage. He can do the qb job and be great at it but even if Smith started, seay as wr and rb at times makes most sense. Now....why did my man no. 1 get booted? Not for story, just personal knowledge Mr. Buddy Garrity 1 Quote
Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 That transfer is on JV for a reason. Quote
MAYFIELD Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 That transfer is on JV for a reason. Well Mr. G , i think they should give #7 his chance, I can guarantee you he is as good or better that is their at Nederland. Now I hope they don't try and misuse him like they have Seay. Time will tell where this is all going tho. Mr. Buddy Garrity 1 Quote

I thought you wanted him to play QB, that's what they are doing with Seay, this is a confusing comment?? To this point in Sages career he has been used to the best cause of the TEAM and been a key to two of the three consecutive undefeated district crowns... How is that misused? football04 1 Quote
MAYFIELD Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 i thought mayfield was just hurt? Naw they called unsportsmanlike conduct and ejection Quote

How is that misused?misused as in not having him in his natural positions on offense and defense? I think thats what he meant. Quote

To this point in Sages career he has been used to the best cause of the TEAM and been a key to two of the three consecutive undefeated district crowns... How is that misused? He played qb thru his 9th grade, and then they turned him or used him in other areas, now I do want him to play qb. If you read earlier post it's states if the coaches decided to use him in other areas again. I am not saying move anyone, just very confident in Tavian playing where he been playing since lil league, and playing it well. Quote
football04 Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 So what are Seay's natural positions on offense and defense? And what are Tavian's natural positions on offense and defense? It seems like Seay and Tavian are on similar paths, so if Seay was misused, does that mean Tavian is being misused? Very confusing. Quote

Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted September 9, 2014 Report Posted September 9, 2014 I would say natural position is WR and S. Seay is a hell of an athlete but thats where I think he makes the best game impact at, especially at S. Quote
football04 Posted September 9, 2014 Report Posted September 9, 2014 So you think Tavian should be on JV honing his QB skills for next year? Quote
football04 Posted September 9, 2014 Report Posted September 9, 2014 I agree Buddy, and on offense you can use all over nd still some at QB, Mr. Buddy Garrity 1 Quote
NDOMAKONG Posted September 9, 2014 Report Posted September 9, 2014 you answered your own question So Mayfield agrees with Buddy, who agrees with ball04, but doesn't sound like all three agree on the same things... Confusing as noted football04 1 Quote
