Great group of well deserved players from our area.  The Texas Sun Devils 17U(2015) team had several of these Super Gold local players competing this summer in Perfect Game 17U wood bat world championships in Atlanta ,Georgia. There was 308 teams in this tournament from 20 plus states. The TSD made it to the final 8 left standing before losing out. They are now in Fort Meyers , Florida competing in the 17U metal bat world finals.  As of yesterday they had won all there pool play games. I want to say to all the parents of local kids that the opportunity to play in these type of tournaments  is well worth the time, cost and effort you and your son put into it.  You get to see your son compete against his age group players from all over the United States.  I know that almost every D1, D2 and JUCO coaching staff from Mid America to the East Coast was attending, scouting and watching the players at the Atlanta tournament. I also know that almost every MLB scouting team was there  taking notes, etc. With that said if you have a young baseball player who you believe will have the skill set to play at the college level some day,  be sure and get them to these type of tournaments when they get into high school. TSD local players are Chase Shugart-BC, Aidan Anderson-WOS, Grant Anderson-WOS and Ford Proctor-Kelly,  plus players from Lake Charles, Sulphur, San Antonio and Lufkin. I do know that there are several other baseball  organizations in our area that take teams each summer. Find the one that best fits you and get there, you won't regret it.
