  1. The Sundevils 17U are playing the championship game right now at Blue Bell Stadium on the campus of Texas A & M. They are playing one of the many Banditos teams. This Banditos team I noticed had Roger Clemons other son playing on it. I  have been keeping up on Game Changer. This is the Super 25 South Regional. Winner gets entry into some big  "invite only" tournament in Arizona later in the summer. The SD's were up 2-1 in the 2nd. They are the visitors.
  2. I am not sure where you are located but many area HS play a league in the summer. I know that HF, LCM, HJ, BC,WOS Deweyville, Ozen, Anuahac, and many more have participated over the last few years. Contact the coaches at some of these schools and maybe they can help you. The problem is virtually all of them play in the daytime since using the lights costs the schools money. each team is responsible for paying one official at $55.00 each.  Some schools run short of players at times and the communication is limited as far as keeping people from driving 40  miles and then one team only has five or six players show up. I have seen many 8th grade and even some talented 7th graders participate in the summer games. Unfortunately as the kids get older they start working summer jobs, practicing  with select travel teams  and  do not show up which gets others aggravated.  But I know they have been playing each summer for the last several years.
  3. I would like to see somebody research the top 10 era, k's, wins  in the area so far this season  and  be sure and include what grade level they are in.  I see some info. from fairly far away. I am talking the Golden Triangle area. I try and read Max Preps but some  area coaches will not input their stats to that Website.  I can probably name several. White-Lumb-11th., Guidry-BC-12th, Franklin-Kountze-10th, Marshall-Kountze-10th, A.Anderson-WOS-10th, G. Anderson-WOS-10th, Shugart-BC-10th, Howard -PAM-10th,. Anyhow I obviously do not know all the top Pitchers but someone out there does.
  4. OK I have read the previous 90 posts. Now that 3 to 4 district games have been played,  I am anxious to read what the forecasters of 21-3A have to say now. As of today it looks like BC is 3-0, OF is 3-1, Silsbee is 2-1, Buna is 2-2, WOS is 1-2, HF is 1-3 and HJ is 0-3. I have seen some great baseball competitions so far. The one thing I can say is 21-3A has some outstanding HS pitchers but errors and batting have decided several games. So lets step up and give your second best guess on how the 21-3A will finish. By the way I can say OF, HF, WOS, Buna will be battling for the third spot.  I have seen a pitcher get 12 to 14 K's per six innings and lose  2 district games with a 0.00 ERA for the games,  while another pitcher has two K's  and wins 14-1 vs what some predicted to be one of the best pitchers in the area in the previous 90 posts. Baseball is a game of inches and you never know what will happen. We are fortunate to have  some great players, coaches and fans in our district.  But it is fun reading all the fans  telling us what they think will happen.
  5. WOS is looking alright at 1-3 so far with two losses by 1 run and their 10-3 loss to LCM was a 2-0 game until the 7th. They still have two starters coming from basketball I believe. I did see them play vs Kountze Saturday night. The game was won by Kountze in bottom of seven after Aidan Anderson came out on pitch count and WOS was out of pitching. WOS  put in a young man who does not pitch normally. He walked two  and then made a wild throw to first on a pick off play allowing the run form second to score.  Anderson had completed six full innings vs Austin Marshall for Kountze the score was 0-0 at that point.  Two outstanding sophomores performed that night well actually three. Anderson was virtually untouchable with 13 K,s. Marshall was equally impressive but I do not know his stats. I think both young men gave up one hit a piece and the game had a playoff type atmosphere. Kountze brought in E. Franklin another outstanding sophomore for the sixth and seventh innings.  Early in the season most pitchers are on a predetermined pitch limit. Anyhow Kountze in my opinion has an outstanding team of hitters and pitchers and should go along way this year in their district. WOS will improve and 21-3A will have another competitive year for the top three spots.  HS baseball looks to be exciting again this year.
  6. Just curious but why do they need to be juniors?  I know several 2015's who have played 17u ball the last two summers and have looked good , real good on the mound while demonstrating the qualities you are looking for.
  7. Well how was your open day?  My families first weekend  was typical  as most years. The kids both shoot spikes.  The strange part was a nice buck my brother who was visiting killed. We hunt in Newton County near the Burkville area. This buck was a nine point 16-17 wide but was a monster in body size. He was almost what you would say  he was freaky. I truly wish we would have had time to find a certified scale somewhere.  My 30 years of hunting tells me this buck weighed 230 to 240 not field dressed. My dad killed a big one in north Louisiana in 1962 when I was a kid that weighed 226. I believe this one was bigger. His body shoulder to rear end covered a full size pickup tailgate and his massive neck and head hung off.  Anyhow just wondering if any one else has seen any extra huge bodied deer?
  8. It seems a little early for these predictions but as a baseball fan looking in , watching summer ball, travel ball in three states and fall ball I believe B-City is  very talented, Silsbee is a year stronger as well. With that said the third spot will be the battle.  Looks like Buna , WOS, HJ, HF and OF all have a shot. I can say I would not be surprised if there is some key upsets by the time district roles around.  Also with the playoffs potentially being one gamers or coin flips because of students taking  state exams and weather holding all the cards.  A team could  face strong pitching, umpires calls, weather again and anything could happen. It is going to be a great spring for 21-3A baseball but weather has the potential of changing things.  Hope everyone has a great year.
  9. How do we get in touch with you to get a glove?
  10. The 3A,4A,5A underclassman game was 9-2 in favor of the RED TEAM. There was some very good performances on the field. Pitching was very good and like in any game some players stood out. There was three college staff scouting that I saw. I was impressed as usual with hitting by Uzzle and Padgett. Pitchers who were very effective and had mid 80 up to 91 on the radar were A. Anderson WOS, Humphrey- LCM and Lipton -Livingston that I know of( didn't see radar on everyone).  The TASO games are for a great cause and I get to see all 5 games for $5 bucks. I encourage everyone to go watch and support baseball in SETX.
  11. Jacoy Finney (sr) from West Orange Stark plays 3rd, pitches and catches some.  Batting well over 442, 4-Hr's, 22 runs and 23 hits with 16 RBI's in district (6 games) and may be a  leader in the  area with  HR's - 4  and possibly steals 16 for 3A.  Also have to give a nod to the freshman Pitcher Aidan Anderson ( 21-3A district) who has 36 K's in 19 innings,  5-2 record with a 2.29 ERA.  It takes a lot of passion for kids who just turned 14 (if they are a true freshman) to stand on the mound and pitch to 17-18 year old players as well bat against players who are already signed to play D1 baseball in many cases.  SETX has many great players and many more coming up.
  12. Mustangs looked very good tonight.  Freshman Aidan Anderson 13 K's, no walks, gave up 3 hits and picked off one at second and one at first tonight. Mustangs had 11 hits, 7 doubles and 4 singles.  No errors in the field that I recall.  Coach Landry is working them hard daily and they are  now 8-11 over all. Keep it up Mustangs!
  13. WOS is suppose to throw their other #1. The Anderson's are twins and I am not sure who is the actual #1. The one tonight has more K's in the games he has pitched in. He just catches most games.  The game should come down to who can execute at the plate, on the bases and fewest errors. WOS can take this if they play good defense and get a few key hits.  Should be a great game. Also does anyone know the rule ,if there is one, on make up games? I understand the District Chairman is allowing the BC/ Silsbee game to be made up on the 20th. I thought it is suppose to be the next available date which should be tomorrow on Wednesday. Especially since they moved 21-3A Track scratch meeting to Monday.
  14. Someone famous once said " Pitching matters". Now with the new bats it really matters. WOS young team has talent and a strong desire to win. Great job Coach Landry!  If you "Don't Believe You Don't Belong" is the WOS motto this year. Keep up the good work!
  15. Aidan Anderson , Grant Anderson, Chase Rutledge and Grant Lapoint who are all every  game starters for WOS. WOS is very young this season starting one senior and one junior.
  16. WOS should start three to four freshman. The Anderson twins, Rutledge and possibly two more depending on several factors. WOS will be very young in almost every position this year.
