1. What's up with removing the dates from the field house wall(facing the field) under the tradition of excellence? I thought that was pretty cool, who's bright idea was it to remove all of that? Also heard they removed all of the playoff pictures from the hallway. I guess we're now ashamed of our accomplishments.
 2.
After meeting Coach Price tonight, I am hopeful that he will be the person to build upon all athletic programs at HF.  He appears to be willing to evaluate what he has at HF first, and develop an improvement program from that starting point.  I was disappointed in the turnout of parents tonight.  Around twenty to thirty parents were there.  There may be a complaint from some people that the meeting was not well advertised, but, I know quite a few people who knew and chose not to come.  Apathy is one of the big diseases at HF that Price must cure in order to be successful.  I wish him luck and support as HF moves forward.
BH was like HF as well, when Don took over the football program was in the tank. If the kids will work hard and not listen to all the jumk on these forums, they will see success soon.
 3. I'm not sure spring ball is all that helpful...but if that's what he wants to do, then have at it. I am glad we are getting a tunnel, now we can be exactly like every other team we play...hope we have the smoke to go with it...this should inprove our proformance dramatically...after all, who doesn't get excited about running through a tunnel? Really, this could be the turning point in our program.
 4. Congrats Coach Price!!!  If the folks at HF will allow him to work, he will bring back your winning tradition! He is not a politician, he will not walk around pretending to be something he's not...or smile all the time. He is friendly, but serious, and contrary to popular belief, he does love kids.  He will teach the kids more than just football...he'll teach them great life lessons. Some of us over here at the hill may end up being HF fans........well that may be to tough...lol. Really, good luck to HF, hope for good times for yall!
 5.
tnt-mom, You hit  the nail smack on the head....It was time for a change, Price is gone and people need to move on.....That era is over, and hopefully a new chapter opens where everybody is judged on their talent lelel, and not where their parents are employed.....The house cleaning isn't over yet I'm sure......Welcome Coach Gage, and good luck....From what I've seen and read wish my son could have played for you, sounds like good ole fashioned work ethic and common sense.......Nice also to see that he wants the kids to able to have other interest, hunt, fish, actually be normal teens and boys..
Can't we all just get along( little Rodney King lingo) I would hope we are past this stuff now. I supported Price...but he's not here anymore...so now I support Gage, and will give him 110% of my support. If he doesn't produce in the next couple of years, then that will be different. We have to give him a chance.
 6. I'm not concerned as much about our defense, as I am our offense. I was in one of our local restaurants, and over heard two guys talking about how great our offense was going to be next year. I'm glad everyone is pumped up, so am I, but I can't figure out how we are going to run the wishbone, when we don't have any real running backs? I just don't see any big, fast, powerful running backs to make the wishbone successful. Plus don't we need three or four of them? Then where do we get a option QB? Does anyone know any of these answers? I'm excited, but a little nervous also.
 7.
I haven't lost my mind bh34.  I said MOST of his wins came in 3A playing some weak teams.  Pulll the record book and look at the number of wins we had during those years.  YES, we did have some great wins, ten of which came the first year we were in 4A (2006) and had a tremendously talented team of seniors......Don Price had nothing to do with the fact that we had the Pattons, Fisher, Vara, Swart, Cox, etc.  That was probably the best senior group of talent we had seen in a long time. What I couldn't stand about Price was his sour attitude.......talk about someone needing an extreme personality makeover! Kudos to Poole for getting exactly what we need at BH to turn things around.
I said I'm done defending or talking about Price...Thought he was a great coach...but it isn't getting us anywhere...we are in a new era...so I'm done. Can't wait until August!!
 8.
Price's record was so good because during the majority of his career at BH we played some pretty lame teams in our 3-A District.  We would have had wins no matter who our coach was.
Trueblue, have you lost your mind? We beat some pretty good 4a teams in preseason through those years...I wonder why we couldn't win (consistently) in that same sorry district with the coaches that were here before Price? Everytime I try to move forward...you guys keep pulling me back! Okay...now I'm done talking about Price!! Welcome Coach Gage!!!!! Welcome Coach Gage!!!!!  Welcome Coach Gage!!!!!
 9. I've supported Don Price through the years and did not want to see him go...but that was yesterday...today we have a new coach and from what I've heard will do an excellent job, so cudos to the board. I'm not sure he will be able to run the wishbone here, but if he is as good as he is supposed to be I'm sure he'll make the proper adjustments. Don is gone...he's not coming back...so lets put it behind us and give our new coach 100% of our support!!! I'm perdicting a district championship next year...Go Eagles!!!
 10.
I heard there are more than 80 applicants, so there is definitely interest in the job.  I don't think it is true that he was offered the job because the Board has to approve a person and they just met tonight.  Could it be that some people are out there trying to spread rumors just to make BH look bad because they are Price supporters?
Get off that crap...no one is trying to make the school board look bad because we supported coach Price...they do all of that on their own. We've now hired a new coach and I wish him well. I hope we kick some tail next year. It's time to move on and give the new coach 100% support.
 11. I want to wish our new coach much succuess on his new job!! I will be there pulling for the Blue every Friday and look forward to the new era in the BH athletic program.
 12. The assistant coaches have nothing to do with what's happening. I know for a fact that there are coaches that would have been very happy with Evans, so you can't tell me they've been trying to hurt the process. The problem is, coaches for many years now, have all known how BH treats their coaches, and a good coach wants nothing to do with it. See our school board and Super thought they'd be able to buy one of these great coaches, but all these coaches are doing is playing them to get more money out of the school their at now. So everyone knows our first and second choices turned us down, so who's next? Great coaches don't like to be considered third, fourth, fifth...etc. There are many coaches that won't take the job if there's not a unanimous vote from the school board, so being last on the list won't set well with them. If it happens that another one or two turn us down this situation will not be good, which is exactley what me and others were afraid of. We that support Don, wasn't that we thought he was the only coach in Texas that could win at BH; but Don is a good man who always tried to do the right thing and wanted the best for the kids, and proved himself here by bringing back a winning attitude, in all sports. It's not that easy to find a coach that has all the qualities that Don has, they're out there but they are few and far between...in my opinion. Hope this turns out okay for the school...we're still waiting to see.
 13.

Are you kidding me??? People are actually questioning the coaching?  They must be new Dayton fans because if you were around BS (before stewart) then you would never ever question it... Trust me!
Yep a random guy told me after the game that the coaching could've been bettter in the 4th Qtr. He wanted payton at Qb. I was thinking,.... dang, Andres ran for a first down and the kid made a play by the looks of it and the ball got knocked loose. Oh well, some people will never be happy. I think the broncos.... especially that sophomore laden offense (1st year on var. sophs at that) overachieved this year. I'm proud of 'em. Look at what one "fan" posted on chron.com. snowbunnyassassin wrote: Congrats to the Brenham Cubs. Now I understand they are a bunch of kids. But come on Coach Stewart you cannot expect a 5ft 2 QB to lead us to state. With 4 min left of the game why didn't you put in Payton as your QB. Let him run the time out and he can also pass the ball better than Herrera. Don't get me wrong I bet the kid is a outstanding student and a outstanding citizen of Dayton. I bet he is a role model for the younger kids in Dayton. I bet he aspires the children in the community so they can believe in themselves and become anyting they want to be. The man isn't built to be a QB. But I will give Herrera credit. He did step up he did accepted the challenge to become the starting qb for Dayton. He had some really big shoes to fill and my opinion he did a outstanding job by guiding his team to the 4th round of the playoffs is no easy task. Instead you stuck with this QB and in the last 4 minute of the game he found away to fumble the ball, fall on his back for a safety, and threw a INT. The week before when we were playing El Campo. The defense were destroying our offense you put in Payton and their defense couldn't stop the Bronco offense. The same thing was happening in the first half until you took out Herrera and put in Payton as your QB, Brenham couldn't stop the Bronx offense but for some reason with the last 4 minutes of the game you refuse to change your ways refuse to call different plays in the playoffs and guess what complacency kills. Our goal in Dayton shouldn't be win district, and go into the playoffs. our goal should be to win STATE! not just next year but to win State every single year. I do not know why the paper in Dayton doesn't call you out. I do not know why 99.9 doesn't call you out. And 99.9 that annoucer that covers the Broncos is GARBAGE, hot GARBAGE!!!!. I guess he didn't notice andres running like crazy from the 2nd qtr on and when he got time, making some nice throws... those LB's of Brenham were quick!!! Gotta give them some credit.
I think Dayton, should fire Stewart!!! He ran all the wrong plays, didn't adjust on defense, played all the wrong players at all the wrong positions, and he waisted a ton of D1 talent. I hope ya'll take Barber Hill's lead and send him packing!!! Really, what has he done for Dayton? So, he has taken ya'll to the playoffs for the last 100 years...he's never won a State Title!!! He's worthless!! I think it's time for ya'll to make a change and get a fresh perspective on your athletic program. We have it all figured out at the Hill, so if you'd like to have a program like ours...follow our example.
 14.
Never underestimate the wisdom  and the energy of an old coach. The blitz is still a good defensive strategy and I have been called "BLITZ" Byrd. What a great run we all had at Barbers Hill. We all had a great time day in and day out. You guys that have never coached high school kids - you are truely missing a blessing. The kids at Barbers Hill are great kids, hard workers, and they will get after you. Thanks to all you Barbers Hill guys, Coach Byrd
Coach Byrd, wanted to say how much we're gona miss you(or least I am). I thought you did a great job with the defense over the years. Wish you would stick around awhile, but know your probably ready to relax awhile. God bless in what ever you do!!
 15. Keep it up Broncos!!! We are pulling for ya over here at the Hill.
 16.

kindafunny, that may be one of the most ridiculous statements I have ever read on here.  Believe me, every kid has been coached.  And a question for you...how do you coach a kid "as if they have the ability to be a D1 player"?
YOU encourage, inspire and teach with positive reinforcement! :)
You can't coach natural speed. You can't coach natural athletic ability. Great coaching can improve players, but... If you line up and around 5 of the players on the other side of the ball are just quicker than your guys, and maybe have a little more talent, odds are you will lose. Just ask PN-G when they faced Brenham. You people in Barbers Hill just pushed out a great coach. Just seeing what Barbers Hill has in it's system now from 7th to 11th grade, Barbers Hill will be competitive in football, but a deep playoff run is probably not in the opting for a long time, regardless of the coach. Good luck in finding a new coach, if he knows the parents he is going to be involved with, he might just look elsewhere.
Amen!!!   Kindafunny...you are just that...kinda funny. I'm all for inspiration and pushing the kids to be better...we all are, that's what football is all about. What we're talking about is, there's no way to take a guy 5-10, 200lbs and make him 6-5, 300lbs, or a guy running a 5.0, in the Forty and inspire him so well he runs a 4.3 Forty. I believe kids can play larger than they are, but sometimes that doesn't matter when the guy in front of you is bigger, better and faster. If you ever watched Kenny Robbins play, we haven't had a offensive lineman even close to his ability since he graduated. There is a difference between high school good and College good...Kenny was college good.
 17.
Barbers Hill’s Price: ‘I still want to coach’ By Dave Rogers The Baytown Sun Published November 28, 2009 Don Price, the second-winningest football coach in Barbers Hill history, said his school district induced him to resign by agreeing to a $153,000 buy-out of the final year and a half remaining on his contract as coach and athletic director. The resignation of Price, whose 12-year record of 99-35 is second only to the 118-35-5 mark Lloyd Kelly set as BH coach from 1953-1967, was announced by the district Nov. 18. Price said he intends to leave the school he’s served since 1992 at the end of the fall term. “I’ve really enjoyed being here,” Price said. “The kids and staff were great. That’s what we do it for.” Price said the buyout offer grew out of talks with BHISD superintendent Greg Poole that began the week of Barbers Hill’s final regular season game, which was played Oct. 30. Price, 57, said he was told the school board was unhappy with the state of the Eagle athletic program and had created a position for him as assistant to the district’s assistant superintendent of planning and operations at his current salary of $98,800 per year. “I still want to coach,” said Price, whose Eagle football teams won six district championships, the last in 2006. Barbers Hill’s football team won Oct. 30 to qualify for the playoffs, joining the other four fall sports at the school – team tennis, volleyball, boys and girls cross country – in advancing past district play. Price’s ninth playoff football team in the last 11 years finished the season 5-6 after a 21-7 bidistrict loss to Port Neches-Groves Nov. 13. Despite never having coached a player who was recruited and signed by a NCAA Division I-A school, Price was 85-19 at BH after the 2006 season and had an overall winning percentage of 81.73, which at the time, ranked second all-time among Southeast Texas football coaches, according to Texas high school football historian Joe Lee Smith. Only Alex Durley, who led both Beaumont Hebert and Beaumont West Brook to state titles (and was 97-13-3, 87.17 percent), was better. After going 10-1 in 2006, Barbers Hill’s first season to move up from Class 3A to 4A, the Eagles missed the playoffs for the first time since 1998 when they finished 6-4 in 2007 and 3-6 in 2008. Currently, Price’s overall winning percentage of 73.88 at Barbers Hill is good enough for 21st all-time in Southeast Texas and No. 9 all-time among those who coached 10 or more seasons in an area that runs from the Louisiana border to Livingston and nearly as far north as Lufkin. Coaches below Price on the list include Dayton’s Jerry Stewart (72.19 percent) and Bum Phillips (70.12 percent), who coached at both Nederland and Port Neches-Groves. More than his football team’s success, which included five 10-0 regular seasons (1999-2001, 2005-2006), Price is proud of the success of the entire Eagles athletic program and especially points to the 2006-07 school year. That’s when Barbers Hill was moved up from Class 3A to 4A and, with a high school enrollment of 963 in a classification for schools ranging from 950 to 1,984 students, won district championship in 14 of the 15 sports in which it competed. Girls basketball has reached the playoffs each of the 11 seasons Price has been athletic director. The boys track team has won district 10 years in a row and girls track has won district eight of nine years. The softball team has been in the playoffs nine years in a row, including a trip to the state tournament in 2006, and the baseball team has been in the playoffs eight years in a row. The spring tennis team won eight straight district titles. During Price’s tenure as AD, Barbers Hill implemented a volleyball program in 2001 that has qualified for the playoffs every year, reaching the state finals in 2003. Under Price’s tenure, Barbers Hill also implemented middle school academic tutorials, middle school cross country and tennis programs and high school swimming. “I was never an AD who was just a football coach,” he said. “We tried to have an overall program that offered every player in every sport the opportunity to compete at the highest level. “I took my tenure as athletic director very seriously. I think if you compare it to the history here, it’s unsurpassed.” A native of Nederland, Price grew up in the same neighborhood with current Dallas Cowboys coach Wade Phillips, whose father, Bum Phillips, went on to coach the Houston Oilers and New Orleans Saints. He ran hurdles for the Lamar University track team and began his coaching career at the University of West Georgia. He returned to Texas and was an assistant coach at Troup, Hawkins and Joshua high schools before a two-year stint as head coach at Maypearl. At Troup and Hawkins, he was on the staff of Kenneth Skidmore, who brought Price to Barbers Hill as his defensive coordinator and head track coach in 1992. Price’s overall record as high school head coach is 105-48-1. His wife, Cindy, is secondary curriculum director for BHISD and she has a law practice in Mont Belvieu. “My second year as head coach here we went 12-1 and played in the Astrodome,” Price said. “I learned right then it didn’t silence my critics. “I learned right then to focus my energy on my kids and my coaching staff. I couldn’t worry about the rest of the stuff. I don’t have the time.” --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks for the post, don't take the Sun, so I missed the article. Glad Price got to have his say!!! Bh has had some D-1 talent, Kenny Robbins back in 1989 or 90. He was the last Football player to be recruited by major Universities.  BH89-2, If a player is good enough he will be recruited. Its not all done by the head coach. Sure they can help a player and push a player that has potential to develop, but a player that is good enough(like Kenny R.) the colleges will find him in spite of the head coach. I know for a fact that Price tried his best to help many players, and we've had several that have received scholarships as of direct result of his help, and my knowledge doesn't come from Price himself. The problem is to many parents don't live in the real world. They believe their little boy is great because of what he did in Jr. High or on JV. When I played, something that one of our coaches told us right from the start is, 1% of high school players get college scholarships, and out of those, 1% make it to the NFL. He told us to work hard, try to improve, and have fun, if your good enough to get a scholarship Great!  But we should focus on, supporting the team, whether on the field or off, and be content with being a part of a team effort and building memories that we'd take with us the rest of our lives. You know, we had two or three that went to Jr colleges and one that got a four year ride(I can't remember where) but the majority of us never put on a helmet again after our last game...but we do have some great memories. He wasn't telling us not to try to be better, he wanted us to succeed, but he let us know that not all of us ran a 4.3 or 4.4, - 40, nor were we 6-5, 280lbs. I've heard this junk about how Price never tried to get his players scholarships, over and over again. I think to many parents(Not All) are not truthful with themselves or their kids. Its the world we live in now, that even when little Johnny poops his pants at 13 years old, he's told what a wonderful job he did, like he was 6months old. Price, and all coaches are in a no win situation, in my opinion. Old Sarge, I agree. The school board meetings are open to the public, because its our money they are spending. We should be able to know any and all information about whats been done. The problem is, none of us(and I put myself on the top of the list) attend board meeting the way we should...they can do what ever and never be challenged.

And it was the of the outporing of support for Don that totally wrecked the plans of your precious board, for which all we know "you" are a part of. The deeds been done, no changing it now. Just don't try to spin the events to make yourself feel better. I want things to turn out great for BH just like everyone does. But I will not act like I'm happy with what happened when I'm not. The people on your side of the fence are happy, fine! Just don't expect everyone one to be happy with the way it was handled. You have been in here for the past couple of months spewing your dislike for coach Price, calling him names and just waiting for the day to come. Well it's easy to see that apparently someone tipped you off that it was going down because you've been crowing about it for weeks. Well now you can have your "county wide" B-B-Q that you boasted about a few weeks ago, you got what you wanted.  ENJOY!
Go get em Trucked!!! I was there also, they wanted to chop him that night...they just got surprised. Now they got a super that is on their side, so nothing can stop them.
 21.
It's always funny how people take part of the truth and spin it to make their own version of the story.  Barbers Hill district meeting centers on A.D. By Ken Fountain Baytown Sun Published June 7, 2005 MONT BELVIEU – During an unusually crowded meeting of the Barbers Hill school district, several people voiced their strong support for Don Price, head high school football coach and district athletic director. But when Superintendent Wayne Rotan announced that Price’s job was secure following a lengthy executive session, the C.T. Joseph Conference Center quickly emptied. Rumors had flown since last week that Price would be dismissed or his duties altered, and the audience was buzzing with excitement as the meeting time approached. Board president Philip Joines entreated both public speakers and board members to treat each other respectfully. The first speaker was Bruce Mintz, an attorney for Price, who was not able to attend. Mintz said he would make a demand that any discussions of Price’s employment be done during an open session or a public meeting. Laurie Guidry told the board members that “it’s said that the public has to be here because we are afraid that our athletic director’s job is in jeopardy.” “We don’t think you support our athletic director or the superintendent,” she said. “It’s not your role to check references, or to micromanage (the administration).” “Get off their backs and let them do their jobs,” she said. Most of the speakers who followed reiterated Guidry’s support for Price. “His record speaks for itself. He’s had 40-plus victories, and many, many winning seasons,” said Kenny Robbins. Susan Fregia, a teacher with the district for 21 years, said that sports” is more than just about winning, and Don Price exemplifies that.” “He exemplifies the integrity and the honor and the hope that I strive to teach in my classroom,” she said. Angel Coon said that she was primarily interested in talking about the basketball program, particularly the girls program, which she said had fallen behind after a period of several winning seasons. “I think the program is at a critical juncture. We need to decide if we’re going to bolster the program, or watch as it withers away before our eyes,” she said. Coon implored the trustees to “do whatever it takes to put in the right people (to improve the program).” Former girls basketball coach Angela Gober, who resigned about three weeks ago, said that she appeared to “squelch any rumors about why I left.” Gober said that unlike rumors that she and Price did not get along, she resigned in order to help her mother, who is in failing health, as she wrote in her resignation letter. After hearing from all the speakers, the board retired into an executive session that lasted nearly an hour. When they emerged, the board unanimously approved a number of personnel changes recommended by Rotan, none of which included Price or a new girls basketball coach. Afterward, Rotan told the audience that he had had discussions with Price about the possibility of creating a new position of girls athletics coordinator, who would directly handle the day-to-day administration of the girls programs. The person in that position would answer to Price, he said. Rotan said that the district’s size did not justify the creation of a separate athletics director position. Rotan said that he and Price were also discussing the hiring of a new girls basketball coach. “I want the same thing everybody in this room does, to have a successful program, Coach Price and I will do whatever it takes to get the best person available,” he said, adding that there were several potential “in-house” candidates. In response to a question posed by trustee Benny May, Rotan said a decision should me made before the end of the month. Following the discussion of the athletics program, the next and last item on the agenda was a budget workshop for the next school year. The nearly filled seats of the auditorium quickly emptied.
What's your point?
 22.
I think Barbers Hill should look for the following in their new head coach/athletic director: 1)   A proven winner as a football coach at least 80% lifetime winning percentage as a head coach 2)  Someone who has shown they can win over time not just one or two years (at least 100 wins as a head coach) 3)  Someone who has consistently taken his football teams to the playoffs (75% of the time) 4)  Someone who has made the playoffs at the 4A level with a small enrollment (50% in the playoffs and a district championship once in 4 years would be great) 5)  Someone who has been an athletic director and had success in all other sports also (multiple district championships in cross-country, volleyball, basketball, baseball, track, tennis, and golf) 6)  A good Christian man with high morals and values 7)  Someone who can direct the district in building projects as needed 8)  Someone who can oversee various events such as district track and cross-country meets, golf tournaments, playoff games, etc. with a high level of professionalism and knowledge to ensure they are handled properly 9)  Someone well respected by area coaches and athletic directors Does anyone think Barbers Hill will be able to find this person?  You just allowed a small group of parents and spineless administrators run him off.  Morons!
I love this post Sarge!!!
 23. Congrats Dayton!!! Keep it up!!! Most of us BH fans are pulling for ya'll all the way!!!
 24.
I can tell you what the inner circle is looking for. I have heard it before. And it has nothing to do about football. I look for Penee Hall to come back as the AD\HC of the girls Basket Ball and for BH to just hire a head football coach who ever it is. The main reason she left in the first place is because she didn't get the AD job when Price got it. Certain people have daughters coming up that are good and successful basket ball players thru the junior high and little dribblers leagues. One group even won nationals. and they want their kids to have the best opportunity and coach to take them back and win state and she has deep roots here even with certain members on the school board. Just my opinion.
96, you understand whats happening also. I'll be shocked if it doesn't take place just like you said. If it were to play out with her as AD, no really good football coach will set foot on our campus. If that system had been in place here for a while, and we had a AD with a record of success, that would be different, but not the way its coming down. I don't believe you'll get a good head coach if the AD is also the head girls basketball coach...no way it happens.

If our board doesn't hire a great coach, and we get a guy in here that goes 5-5 the next three or four years, or who gets beat in the first round of the playoffs every time. I will be on here throwing it back in your face. See what I'm expecting with all the great talent we have, is a State Championship for the next three years. It wasn't exceptable for Price to go one or two rounds seven out of ten years, so the bar is set very high for the next guy.
I'm sorry before I even start but you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. The Hill has a lot of mediocre athletes that mommy and daddy think are at least small D1 material and the honest truth is that I can think of maybe 5 since 1995 that would be D1 football players possibly. And thats not a hit on the kids at all. Cause they work their butts of and have for years to be better than teams that out-athlete them. But the truth is that they are not all that naturally talented and never really have been. And when you are playing in District you face teams that are good and bad. But when you get to the playoffs... everyone is good. So natural athletes start to play a much bigger role. And when a team like the Hill who is and has been very fundamentally sound and hard working but just mediocre athlete-wise and they get to the playoffs and play a team like we have in the past (Kirbyville, Central, PNG, etc.) who is also fundamentally sounds but has one or two big name players that are naturally great athletes it is the deciding factor. Barbers Hill in the last 10 years has not had the Athlete-pool do go any further than one or two rounds. That has nothing to do with coaching and it will remain that way with the next coach unless he brings some phenomenal athlete to town with him.
What Big time athlete's does PNG have this year? This always seems to be the case where folks talk down the talent at BH while hyping the coaches. There are plenty of programs that are successful in the state with out DIV1 talent. BH has been beaten in the playoff by teams with no big name athlete's. Now don't get me wrong I am aware that BH doesn't have DIV1 talent, but as a whole I think the kids at BH should be able to compete in our area. The coaches are a big part of the developement of the kids, but BH parents spend tons of money during the off season with special camps and coaching to make there kids better. I know some folks are upset due to coach Price leaving and some (BH34) would just love to see the next guy fail ,so he could flap his wings an say "I told you so". Me on the other hand could care less! Alot of folks have been wanting a change at BH and Price made several changes during the last 4-5 years to try and make BH better, Those attempts failed for what ever reason. The important thing here is the Kids at BH and the schools Tradition! Folks live in BH for a reason and its not the new Sonic ;D Bring on the new coach and lets see what the Eagles are capable of! 10 years is a lifetime for a Football Coach to be a t a school! I hope Coach Price goes to another school and wins 5 State Championships! This is not the end of the world for Price or BH both will be just fine!
Hey, Brave and Bhfan, are ya'll smoking crack? Did ya'll actually read my post?   First off Brave, what do you think I was getting at in my post? Me and you agree 100%!! I know what Don had to work with and understand the great job he did with the talent he had. It wasn't good enough, for some though, they thought we should go three or four rounds every year(I wish we could have also) I understood were we stood talent wise with other teams once we got past the first round, and then throw in some bad luck, like losing Chris his senior year etc.etc. So now the next coach coming in here(using Price as a standard) has to go more than two rounds every year or he should be fired also...I mean, isn't that what we just did? I think you missed the sarcasm in my comments. Now Bhfan, I DO NOT want our next coach to fail!!! I said I hope that I get to eat my words on defending Price!!! I love this school and, NEVER, EVER, would want it to do bad, just so I could flap my wings about how wrong others were. I hope and pray that our board hires a great coach, that comes in here and far exceeds anything Price has done...I want to be wrong about Price leaving!!!  I want... no desire, to come back on here and tell you, and all the others, that I was wrong about Price and he should have gone long ago. But, if we get some nothing coach that takes the program backwards, then I'll be on here reminding you and others of what we lost...I hope and pray I don't have to do that. BHfan please don't turn my words around to say something I didn't say. I said in my post, that I am NOT one of those people that hope the program fails because my guy is gone. No matter what, I will always support our team, and the new coach. If he does a great job, I'll stick up for him just like I and others have done for Don. I have NO personal relationship with Don, so this isn't about politics. I just understand the great thing he has done here, and where the program was when he came and how much it improved under his leadership...even moving into 4a.
