  1. Good win for the kids. McGaffie(not sure the spelling) is awsome. He was good last year, but I think he improved this year. The Hill needed this win even though it was bitter sweet. I thought the kids left it all on the field tonight. One of those years the ball didn't bounce our way, tuff to take. At least the we got an apoligy for the bad call at the Smiley game...a little to late. Congrats to the Eagles tonight, thanks for your hard work this year.
  2. I don't think the no huddle or the offense was the problem this year. We had NO returning starters on offense and had QB trouble most of the year. Our offense still put up a ton of yards and scored some points. Our defense was the problem, only one true starter and he was hurt for several games, and has just now started playing up to form. Then we had 5 new starters get hurt so all of that combined, you end up on the short end of the stick. With all of that we could have very easily gone 9-1 or 8-2. I think the coaches did a really good job with what they had to work with. The coach can only do so much, the kids have to play the game. Now coach Price taking all the credit for everything I don't get that at all. I've talked to him after several games this year and he always say's the kids are playing very hard. I have never heard him take credit for a win, it's always "the kids played hard". You can't always believe what you read in the papers, reporters are famous for twisting words around. I know the coaches in Baytown have even been mad at the Sun for writting things they didn't say. The problem is we've had some nice success the last several years and it's hard to except going home early.
  3. BH, lost another heart braker again. We gave up a 99 yard kickoff return that ended up being the game. We fumbled at least 6 times and lost 2 or 3, we threw two interceptions, of course one of those bonced off the ground and the ref called it a catch( 146 has a picture of it). Some of the guy's ( I won't say who) looked like their mind was some where else.
  4. I'm not putting down our defense, we do have several bright spots. The defense as a whole is just hurting this year. That kind of stuff happens every so often, it's just part of the game. At least our kids are playing hard and not just laying down. There is no subsitute for experience though and thats were we are laking this year. The offense was what I worried about going into this year, but man those guy's are playing really well. Andrew is playing his heart out, Tony is doing a great job, the line is doing well and our receivers have come around. I read someones comments saying we should put a couple of our offensive linemen on defense every so often, I agree, it seems like that may work. Come on Eagles take care of Huffman.
  5. I know Bh shouldn't have lost to Smiley, under normal conditions. Our defense is having trouble this year. We only had one returning defensive starter from last year and now we have lost I think 4 or 5 new starters due to injury. I think we have a freshman starting at linebacker if thats any indication to how tough of time they are having right now.
  6. Did Smiley through the ball backward or forward on the last play? I heard it went forward.
  7. Congrats Crosby, ya'll have a good team, big and fast. BH gave it all they had, and thats all you can expect from them. I wanted a win as well, but thought it wouldn't happen unless Crosby had a real bad night, they didn't. I hope the boy's come ready to play this week and get back in the grove. Take care of business this week in practice and they will be fine. Congrats once again to Crosby.
  8. Great job Eagles! You didn't get down when things didn't go your way early. You played with heart and desire tonight. You need to bring that desire to every game from here on out. way to go Eagles!
  9. I agree 34'sdad. I can't believe all these people that are ready to jump ship over one game. Everyone knew this could be a slow start this year, and now your ready to give up on them after one loss, unblieveable. 34dad you tell Drew and the rest of the guy's to use this to build a fire in their bellies, and come out and get it done next week, and the true BH fans will be pulling for them all the way. Congrats Jasper, ya'll did a great job tonight. Good luck with your season.
  10. Our kids have a challenge ahead of them this year, they can step up and face it or run from it. I believe and know they will step up to face it and give 110%. I believe the Hill is going to do a lot better than people think. I'm pulling for the Eagles! Go get em men!
  11. Sorry for the bad joke about Joe...lol...just couldn't resist...lol. Believe me, I know how much we need him. Sorry, 34'sdad when I set up my account I didn't know you were on here...lol, hope you don't get grief for anything i say...lol. Luv em Eagles!
  12. Heard through the grapevine that Joe is out for the year...LOL...just kidding. He has a sprained ankle, I heard they might keep him out next week just to be safe.
  13. I've heard that the scrimmage will be a normal scrimmage at first and then they will play a 12 min. game.
  14. BMTSoulja1, I'm a BH fan and I didn't take your comments as a slam, I thought you were giving us props. Thanks, ya'll are a very good team also. You're right we win because we are coached very well and our kids give 110%. Good luck to ya'll this year, and if we meet again I'm sure it will be another tough game. Sorry BH fans, I just tought BMT's post was repectful.
  15. etbu, that statment wasn't aimed at you. I haven't been on here long, but know you support the kids. My comments were for others and not necessarily anyone on this board. I will also agree we may not play in the strongest district in the State of Texas. All of that really doesn't matter. It's about who shows up to play on Friday night. Good luck this year to Huffman(except when you play BH...lol)
  16. I agree 34dad, That's all I heard before last season "Bh is gona find out what it's like playing the big boy's" Now all we hear is how were in a sorry district. No matter what the situation, there would be some off the wall reason why we were being successful. I guess we'll just grin and bear it, and keep doing better than people believe we can.
  17. Everyone knows BH has it's work cut out for em. From what I hear we have some talent moving up to varsity, but it's untested. Those under classmen must step up( but I guess that's alway's true) and learn fast. The offensive side of the ball will be the weakest starting off, not that there won't be talent, just experience. One thing I know about our kids and coaches, is that they will be prepared to play every Friday and they will be giving it 110%. Hey, they have a great challenge ahead of them, just like the team did last year. I believe these kids will step up to the challenge. I think the main thing will be, not getting discouraged early in the season if things don't go their way. GO EAGLES!
  18. It does happen everywhere. It doesn't bother me if a teacher give a kid (any kid) a few points if the kid is trying, doing his or her work, being a good student and so on. Now if the kid isn't doing these things, and just because he's an athelete the teacher gives him points, then I have a problem with it. I had a teacher give me points before, but I was working my butt off also. This stuff in Alabama( if true) doesn't sit well, and isn't right.
