  1. Dayton wins by at least 21. King had a hard time stopping BH, we had one of our better offensive nights against them. If King had a hard time with us, they are going to be in trouble against Dayton. Once again to much Green and Dugat. King does have a good offense and Dayton will have to play well to shut them down, but if Dayton brings their game no way King can hang with them.
  2. Dayton, by a bunch. Finally getting to see Dayton last week, I say Dayton wins the district and goes at least two rounds in the playoffs.
  3. Congrat's to Dayton, you have a really good team. Dugat & Green are two of the better players that I've seen in awhile. Dugat just flat out, out ran our defense, he changed directions over and over and our guy's just couldn't catch up. Our "D" was in the correct position most of the time but it didn't matter, we just don't have the speed to keep those two corral-ed...and the offensive line's not bad either. WHY CAN'T BH GET JUST ONE PLAYER WITH THAT TYPE OF TALENT???? I can't remember BH ever having someone with the overall talent that Dugat or Green have...Oh well, you have to play with what you've got. BHFAN, I agree, I think our kids grew a lot from this game. I think all of them gave everything they had, so they shouldn't hang their heads...but use it as a learning experience. I won't say great job to the kids, but I will thank them for giving their ALL...and not quitting, even when it was hopeless. Once again Congrat's to Dayton! I hope ya'll go far and represent our district well.
  4. Common BH fans, you have to give Dayton Their props. Dayton has a very good team and deserves our respect. I am pulling for BH to win, but what I won't do, is act like Dayton are just some push over team. How can anyone compare a 1970 Friendswood team and say that has one ounce of bearing on this game at all. Now, do I believe that Dayton has won this game before it's played? Of course not, that's crazy to say that about any team or game. I just think we should have respect for a team(any team) that is as good as Dayton. Our kids better respect Dayton, if they don't, it will be bad for the Eagles. The Eagles better dig down deep and be prepared to play 4 quarters of football with as much mental and physical energy as they can muster. Anyway, I'm pulling for the Eagles of course, I just want to keep things in a proper perspective.
  5. Let me try and bring some perspective to the situation. First off; all the teams we've played so far, are much faster than we are. We've put in a new defense, and it's taking a while to get the kinks worked out. I thought our defense, at times, played well Tue. The only problem was, when King would get a step on us, we couldn't catch up, they just ran past us...I'm sorry but you can't coach speed. If the kids missed their assignment, they just aren't fast enough to make any misstakes like being out of position. Even though we gave up a lot of yards, for the most part it wasn't from sustained drives, it was big plays. I thought at times we played great defense...and we have several starters out, and our bench just isn't deep enough. Our offense during the first two games, was not clicking. Tony didn't look comfortable and he threw way to many interceptions, and fumbled a few times. Our line didn't look very good either, and caused him to rush his passes. The other problem is WE HAVE NO RUNNING BACK! Our O was better last year because of Little. Now I think number 34, when he realizes that if he lowers his head and hits the hole at full speed, that he can gain 4 yards a carry, when he figures that out he will be good. Right now he is just to young, remember he is a soph and as you can tell you can't expect him to carry the load...which is why Carmona runs so much. Plus, that is the nature of the spread offense, the QB must be able to run. I don't know what every one it talking about, saying we need to throw the ball, I think our passing yards surpassed our rushing quite a bit on Tue. I thought our receivers did a great job. Our offense was only about 100 yards less than Kings, 384 yards of offense is respectable...I think we had more first downs also. We all have to understand, the teams we have gone up against this year are better than the teams (with one or two exceptions) we've played in years past. All our kids need is, a little confidence and it will make a new team out of them. I know our kids are working hard, and I also know that our coaches are working hard. I promise, there isn't another coaching staff that works any harder than ours does. I don't agree with everything they do, but I know they want to win and work hard to make sure the kids are put in the best situation to give them that opportunity...what I mean by that is, putting them in the best alignment that plays to their ability. I guarantee, if we had some of the other coaches, before Price took over, we would be getting beat like you can't imagine. We could still have Greg Mc, what ever his name was, who never prepared for any game...his famous line when watching the other teams film was...their playing right into our hands, and that was the end of the preparation. Come on Eagles! You can get it together!
  6. If Bh doesn't commit 5 or 6 turnovers they can win, if they do it won't be good. Heard Ponder may have moved back to the offensive line, that may help some. Get your heads in the game Eagles, these games count. Don't start a trend of missing the playoffs. Forget about Lumberton, PNG and forget about IKE, go out and play Eagle football!!!
  7. Does anyone know if the season is over? I wondered since BH may not be able to start school until Oct. Places like BC are in real bad shape, heard they were 100% under water...WOW...that's horrible!
  8. You'd think being one of the ritchest schools in the state would have come out a little better than that lol That was pretty low at a time when all the schools to the east are in bad shape. Yes, BH was hit hard, heard it may be Oct. 9th before they resume. Anahuac was hit very hard and parts of it's community destroyed. I have a friend over there that saw a man today, just sitting where his house used to be. Prayers to everyone in south east Texas. Yes, we will all recover!
  9. The game was scheduled because of the problem with Smiley and Forest Brook. Our schedule was set and then they combined Smiley and Forest Brook to make North Forest, that left us a game short. Price called many teams, but it was so late in the year everyone had their schedule set. Longview had something happen to their schedule as well, and couldn't find another team. Longview called BH and Price committed to play. Believe me, Longview was not his first choice. I admire him for stepping up and accepting the challenge. You are so right thought Smiley and Forest Brook stuck it to everyone. Now they are a 5A playing in a 4A district for at least two years. Maybe we could merge with Dayton. Just kidding, I don't think that would work out for either side. ;D It's funny how two 4a schools can merge and end up with a 4a school...is that even mathematically possible? Good luck to Longview with your season.

  11. This has got to be a joke, you must be one of the kids that the 7th grade coach made friends with. There are a couple coaches that Don let get away, they both played on the 1999 team that went 3 rounds deep(Arnett and Saunders). The coach you are talking about is a complete joke of football coach. First, he knows nothing about the game, and second he was very unprofessional. He was a B team coach 2 years and an A team coach one year. Thy only reason he was succesfull is because during the individual practice time the other coaches did their job so well it made his wonderful B team look decent in the games. My projection is that he will not be at his new school for more than a year when they figure out what they got. I agree stranger. Saunders and Arnett left to coach with little Price at commerce, they went to get more varsity experience. They weren't let go.
  12. Congrats to Lumberton ya'll played a good game. Good luck with your season. I thought our defense made improvements this week. I know the score didn't indicate that, but when you give the ball away near your own en zone two or three times, you can't expect the defense to hold. They had some not so bright moments, but I think they improved over last week, they just can't stay on the field the whole game. Our offense is another story, no blocking, no running and no passing. The reason Tony has to run so much is, who else is going to do it, come on, we have no running back! We also can't have 6 or 7 turnovers, Tony threw at least 4 or 5 interceptions, and we had at least two fumbles...and a bad call on a laterial. Of course it's hard to throw a pass with 5 defenders in your face, but a couple of interceptions, he threw right to the defender. Our offense has a long way to go! The play calling wasn't the problem, it was the turnovers...everytime we start moving the ball, a penalty, fumble or an interception. The only problem that I have with our coaches is, when these guy's fumble, throw interceptions and jump off sides, they need to pay a high price for that mistake. The way you cure mistakes is, make it not worth it to committ them. I think when you don't have a lot of talent(and we don't) you have to be even more disciplined than normal...you can't afford any mistakes. Look, we are still in preseason, and playing a tougher preseason than we've ever played, we are young and we have changed up the defense, and still have played two good teams pretty well. If you take away all of the turnovers from both games, things may look a lot different. Don't get down Eagles, keep fighting!
  13. Can't look ahead to much as we have a game tonight, but it is going to be a good oad trip!! BH sputtered last week and almost came out with a victory! I'mhoping to see something better tonight or it will be a long night in SFA Who did Longfview play this week I haven't seen any scores? I think they lost to Allen. Not 100% sure about that though. I think if BH can make it somewhat competitive, then it will have been good preparation for the district. BH seems to play up to their opponent, but not sure if that will help much. I just want to see our kids give a 100% effort, and it will only make them better, no matter what the score.
  14. Your right about the fight song being the shorter version and up tempo...I had forgotten that. I'm with 32, ya'll do a great job, I just wished ya'll would play more...especially when we are on defense. Keep up the good work!
  15. Thanks for the correction, I guess the info I recieved was incorrect. I know we do have at least one freshmen and several sophmores on the team.
  16. I think this will be another good game. BH is very young, still looking for a Rb, and working on their new defense. I think BH will improve every week, and I think we are better than last years team...except for the running back position. BH just needs to find their rhythm, and not get down on themselves early in the season. I think Lumberton got a taste of success last year, and liked it, so they should be very tough this year. Did Lumberton graduate a lot of starters last year? Should be another good match up.
  17. I think thats been our school song for 80 years. Not sure why, but someone at some point made it so. Anyway, it works for us.
  18. Congrats! PNG. Ya'll played well. I think your offense will be very good as the season goes forward. I thought both teams played with class. Met some PNG fans before the game, they were all very nice people. Take care of Crosby and Good luck with your season. I think BH will get better, remember they are very young...I think we only have 7 SR on the team. Our "D" is new, and will take a while to smooth out some of the rough edges. Plus at one point in the game we had 3 defensive starters setting the bench with injuries. Ponder has a pulled groin, so who knows how that will work out. Stephen Wright is still not 100% after his back injury, so all in all I wasn't that upset with our play. I think we will get better with every game. Our offense needs some work, but it will come around. Keep your head up Eagles, just work on improving every week.
  19. I want to admit that I was totally wrong about how much scrimmages matter. I saw were BH did pretty well against a pretty good Pasadena team, who is 5a. So now based on that scrimmage I am sure the BH will not only win their district, but I'm sure they will win State. I don't think anyone is saying that the players shouldn't play hard in a scrimmage, of course they should. Anytime they are at practise, they should be going 100% no matter what their doing. I think what me and others are saying is, you can't base how good your year is going to be because of a scrimmage. Like BH two years ago, everyone said they were sorry because they didn't do well against WOS in a scrimmage. Then they went 10-0, and played Central very well in the playoffs. How many times have you seen a team do well in scrimmages or preseason and then lose most of their district games, the pro's the same thing. Everyone go's overboard, one way or the other, just based on the out come of a scrimmage. It doesn't really matter now, because next week is the real deal. I can't wait! Good luck to everyone, well, not to Dayton, Crosby, Memorial, North Forest, King, etc..etc..LOL...just kidding! Good luck to all the teams!
  20. I couldn't agree with Aggie more! Scrimmages are good to get the kids used to hitting other people, but their mainly for the coaches to evaluate players. I would say that a scrimmage is more for the players that haven't won a spot yet, than for the first string guy's. I know I hated playing in them, I just couldn't get fired up about playing a fake game. I don't know how you guy's can go watch em. I've seen two in 10 years, and both times, I was about as bored as I've ever been, and I love football. Anyway, I just don't think you can base how good or bad your team is going to be, from the score of a scrimmage. I just think we take them way to serious as fans. Just my opinion.
  21. I don't know what's happened in the last few years, when did scrimmages(in high school) and pre season(in the pro's) become such a big deal. I heard one of the news men talking about how the Texans were now 2-0 in pre season...WHO CARES! IT MEANS NOTHING! Everyone said two years ago that BH was going to be terrible because WOS beat us in a scrimmage...then we went 10-0 and played a very good Central team down to the wire. If you use that kind of logic, I hope we lose every scrimmage. None of us really know what to expect this year, but I'm sure not going to base my opinion by what happens at a scrimmage...on any team...and especially when we know how coach Prices approaches a scrimmage. Once again if you look at it realistically PNG should handle us very well, but I'll never count our players and coaches out of any game. GO EAGLES!
  22. Thanks for the info BHFAN! One reason the "D" may look a little shaky, is the change in defensive coordinator...don't know, but there may be a learning curve to get through. Your right, BH never shows anything during a scrimmage. But we have to be realistic also, BH is still young in many positions, and I heard, they already have, two or three key people injured. Pre season is going to be tuff, but if the kids don't get down, I think they can be competitive in district. Work hard Eagles!
  23. I love BH, and will be pulling for them all the way. Realistically, I think it will be very hard for BH to beat PN-G first game out of the box. BH has some good people back, but from what I hear, don't have a running back yet. Andrew, will be missed this year! If the Hill can come up with a rb, then they may be okay. I want to go ahead and apologize to the PN-G fans, and others we will play this year, for the Hill's, pathetic visitor situation. It's also nice to have to walk a mile to the restroom, and enjoy the heat(in Sept. and Oct.) while you stand in line for the four toilets. The home stands are okay, but the visitors side is a joke! Boy they did a great job of adding the extra seating, how many will that hold 5 or 10 maybe. When is the admin. going to bring BH up to the 4a level, I guess when we go 5a. Go get em Eagles!
  24. I don't think there is anything wrong with our offense. We averaged over 400 yards per game. We had, really just two bad offensive games, Crosby, which our starting QB was hurt, and Jasper. We could have had a better game against CE King, Tony was just off that night. I thought he and our offense did real well after not having any starters coming back this year, and getting a new OC, which I thought did a great job. We have a lot of players coming back and our offense should be even better next year. When you score 20 to 30 pts a game your offense is doing pretty well. Our defense was the problem and will have to get better this coming year.
