1. Anyone heard of dove populations throughout the state? Dove season opens Sept 1, as it always does. And does anyone know of a good dove lease in SE Texas?
 2. Ive never seen a black cat,but wouldnt mind putting one on the wall. 8)
 3. Huffman could very well upset the Trojans this year but we'll have to wait and see.I believe that Liberty is still favored over Cleveland but they were last year too and look what happened.Deel has been able to pick up a very good DC and with this addition Huffman might not want to be thinking past them.I think the district top 3 will end up as follows.  1) Coldspring  2)Huffman  3)Liberty. This should be some exciting football.Oh and the darkhorse is definately Cleveland,if they can be consistant they could beat anyone in district.
 4. I'd be happy with third and if we could somehow slip by Huffman that would be really great. But fact is coach Deel is coach Deel and has always found ways to flub up a important game. :-[
 5. They needed to do something. Now maybe that third spot in district and the playoffs are a little more realistic.
 6. When did the Ant Mound take the BH off their helmets?
 7.
There are plenty of volleyball stat programs out there. Do not let people talk you out of stat keeping just because they cannot tell what a proper assist, block or an attack is. Most spectators do not know how these stats are supposed to be recorded causing a "padding" of stats. Check apple and download any of the programs suited to your needs.
No one was trying to talk anyone out of anything, there is a need of honest statiticians. While it is true that many spectators dont know these things there are many that do especially those who may be refin' a game or already keeps stats or has family members that also coach. The "Padding of Stats" exists  and those who say it doesnt either condones it and or does it themselves.

I remember HD playing Bmt Kelly and they had a great running back and that's what they were calling him.
I dont know about being called that but he reminded me alot of Earl Campbell.Dexter was more like a bull dozer as well as fast.
 9. The .17hmr is fast light round. Its fun for squirrel and rabbitt, however windage becomes a problem past 100 yards when the wind gets up higher than 10mph.You should be able to get closer than 100 yards on these critters.
 10.
Yea Bronco , i saw yor post on that thread as well . If i remember correctly it said the animal you are refering to only grows to approx 8 to 16lbs . The cat i saw was bigger than a german shepard . Very large cat . I had heard about panthers and cougars being in the river bottoms , and was very skeptical myself . This particular day changed my belief on the subject very quickly . I know what i saw , and now have no doubts they are there . If i would have had a rifle i would have killed the cat . To much livestock and children in the area for a predator like that to be around . Like I said though , I'm sure the high water in the river bottom at the time had a lot to do with the animal being that close .
I was driving in Kenifick about 3 or 4 years ago and saw a cougar crossing the road.It was a cougar and nothing else. This is the second Ive seen here in SE Texas. The first was many years ago when I was hunting on Arizona Creek near Batson. This one left prints in the mud and Jerry Freeman who was the club Game Warden confirmed it was a cougar.
 11. Unless your an official statician, stats are worthless.Ive seen time and time again where the 'coaches pets' get the better stats and those who may not be a star doesnt get the stats they deserve and the "star" is often overrated. This is because many coaches 'pad' their stats. This has been going on forever and in all fairess needs to stop.
 12. There are alot of great names on these posts and most Ive never had the pleasure of watching but the ones that I did have the pleasure of seeing in action were: Dexter Hebert of Kelly,Troy Hansen of Barbers Hill,Reggie White of Liberty,DeAndre Hardemen of North Shore. All of these guys could pick em up and put em down.
 13.
where did fitz go?
He went to some school in Lousyanna.  :'(
 14. The big question is,who will be Liberty's next HC/AD after this season? :o
 15.
It's has to be coach Brian Barbay in Coldspring!
Im not from Coldspring but I would tend to agree with this one,at least for the last couple of years.
 16.

Liberty???
Seriously ???
Why not since all those who drink the Deel Kool Aid think they can beat ya'll or even compete with CS or any other team outside the district.Might as well think outside the box.

The kind of numbers he put up was worthy of at least honorable mention on the all district team.Unfortunatly Deel is not respected by the other coaches in the district because of how he treated former Liberty coaches that are respected by them. Therefore he could get the votes.  If Daniel was my offspring I'd move him also.
Daniel did get hm this year and the year before he made the all district team. Also it is not uncommon for new ads to come in and "clean shop". Also if coach deel was as disrespected as you say why did jake vaught Ryan Melton, Luis Hernandez Randol wiggins Jon Lacefield and Denton Orand among others all make the all district team. The reasons the fitzwaters gave for leaving are that they are moving closer to their daughter who attends Louisiana tech. Not because of deel if that was the case there are alot of closer places that they could move instead of switching states
I was told he didnt make HM,and only speculated about reason for moving, but what a stated about the respect part still stands.Barbay will run up the score up on him if Liberty cant stop him.The other coaches arent going to not vote for deserving player.Fitzwater deserved HM no more no less.

 19. Looks like Title 9 to me  ;D , What about volleyball, and softball?
 20.

Hudson is one of the better athletes to come out of Liberty. Will start for the Panther Football and basketball team as a sophomore.
You guys had never even uttered this kids name until today.  Now all of the sudden Daniel leaving doesn't matter because you have this stud Sophomore waiting to take his job!?! I really hope it works out, but I just cannot beleive that Liberty will not suffer because of Daniel's departure.  All I want is to hear one honest Liberty fan say that Daniel leaving is a big deal.  All of you have acted as though you won't miss a beat!
It is a big deal!!! We're screwed!!!I figured with Fitz we would go 5-5 and maybe squeeze into the playoffs if we could beat a surging Cleveland team but now 3-7 at best. But I'll look at the brite side,no more Deel after his contract expires.
 21.
What has slack done? He'd didn't make playoffs in a 5 team district. No disrespect towards slack he is a great guy but he is to inexperienced. As to what you were saying about deel I will admit he has made some mistakes, but the yer before last he took a group of seniors who didnt win a game from 7th to there sophomore year and got 3rd in district. Now that is not a huge accomplishment, but to take a group of kids who have never won 3 games in one season an get third than that is good coaching during season and off season. Yes they did not beat anybody worth anything this year, but it was an improvement. You cannot seriously expect a coach to come into a program that was getting 3 wins a season and start beating everybody in the first few years
He has been here more than a few years. He has had the talent to go farther than he has.The talent Liberty has had over the past three years should have taken them two or three deep into the playoffs. Its not the talents fault. You cant blame Stewart just like you cant blame Bush any longer for Obama's failures.I remember when I was a little kid and watching Kenneth Skidmore go into Barbers Hill.He beat up on everyone in his few years including then #7 state ranked Liberty. It can be done.
 22.
I am well aware of the reasons he left initially, hence why I was shocked when I heard he was going back.  Is he a teacher?  Elementary PE?  What is he going to be doing at Liberty?  Futhermore, I am surprised he couldn't get an assistant job with one of the schools in the surrounding area.  The guy is a good coach, just wasn't ready for the position the HDISD board put him in when they hired him at HD.  Sitting out a few years doing anything but coaching isn't getting him ready to be a HFC/AD again someday.
Right now sitting around unemployed wouldnt be a good thing either, for him or his family. There are alot teachers out there unemployed that still should be teaching. He is a decent coach and it was unfortunate why he left Liberty the first time.He will be at the Middle School doing a great job there. Will he get back to coaching football?Only time will tell.He is still relatively young so I think that it will be more than likely.
