Big Ned needs to play with a chip on their shoulder. Quit allowing teams to disrespect them like they have. It’s time to go out there and play Bulldog football. Play with testicular fortitude. I understand we are young but that wasn’t the excuse in the 90’s and 00’s when sophomores and Juniors lead those team along with outstanding RBs and Big OLines. Even some of those teams were under sized but fought like hell. Every ex player of Neumann’s can still hear him say theirs only one way to do it and that’s kick ass. Then they would go run through a brick wall for him. I don’t think the same thing could be said now. I’m praying the bulldogs turn it around and show the haters that they are wrong

I've watched a-lot of youth football this year in Nederland and in other cities due to family playing. I think people saying they have mouthy assistants need to adjust that comment. I have seen a-lot of mouthy assistants throughout the STFJL games this year. Also including so called "YELLOW BADGES" during games in all age groups. I looked at conferences and BIG SCHOOL has 4 teams in it. I mean everyone makes playoffs and Non Conference means zero. I think they have lost twice this year to WOS 25-24 and HF 23-13. WOS and HF will play each other in small school Super Bowl, HF #15 should be playing JV as an 7th grader and Varsity as an 8th grader for East Chambers. That kid is good. Let's not just say it is Nederland with mouthy coaches though. I've got plenty of video of head coaches and assistants screaming across the field. Doesn't matter who does it first either because two wrongs don't make a right. Good Luck to everyone this season.... I know it took a lot of hard work and effort just to make one happen. so kudos for that!!!

I don’t have a problem with them providing food for people that are taking 3+ hours out of their evenings to help better the community.  
The district provides plenty of people food all of the time.  Why should they provide a spread for the media in the press box at football games?  They are getting paid to be there.  Athletes and other extra curricular participants eat on our dime all of the time.  Coaches and refs at tournaments also.  
If we are going to ask people to spend their dinner time touring schools, I don’t have an issue feeding them.  

I totally agree, it was ugly all game and it erupted at the end. Grown men chasing other grown men and swinging on them. Not one suspension or disciplinary action.

PNG Purple Above .500 still better record than Nederland Gold maybe? possibly?
Vidor Black well poor guys and Vidor Gray was suppose to be the weaker team this year. Per their coaches (Vidor Gray) they were more concerned about the mercy rule because of the red badges watching  the game.
Jasper weakest? last I heard is they are challenging WOS in small school and they got beat 33-6 
 
White scored 1 touchdown in the second half on Nederland black? so i'm guessing when two of the best teams come together you don't expect scoring. Their QB got injured and the backup did well. From my understanding the rest ned blacks backfield is 7 year olds and most of nederland white backfield  8 year old. Makes a huge difference. 
oh well sounds like someone has Nederland Black Envy. Games are won on the field. Also hope you enjoyed your season. 
 

That’s cute I came from nederland too. I just wear orange and white now. Enjoy watching friends boys play and love poking bears on this place. It’s fun. Plus his boys are like family to me. Almost blood.

Might wanna call Vype Magzine too. 2-1 nederland White vs. 3-0 Nederland Black. 
Lets take a look at both teams game by game here. Per outside sources toughest team Nederland White faced was Beamount White. According to those same sources PNG - Purple was young but had the line so they would lose, PNG Gray apparently drew the short straw during the draft but that’s one mans opinion, Beaumont Blue and white would be the teams to beat again in Pee Wee. Vidor Black I’ve heard is a team that could be a diamond in the rough but Vidor Gray is legit and could have beat Nederand Gold by more but coaches an error. Just by looking at week by week scores. Nederand Black seems to be getting better and better. Nederland White won 2 and lost to what seems to be a good Beaumont White team. Even though I heard Beaumont White had 4 to 5 touchdowns called back on holding which if they get that cleaned up. Watch out folks. So who’s my pick for this game. Who cares it’s going to be a great game. I believe it’s going to be a defensive battle. I’ve got a good buddy coaching in this one so I might make my way out to nederland for this one.

Wow nederland picking a nederland team to lose? Interesting here!! Maybe this a game between nederland teams we need to watch for if TOP DOG is a coach for Pee Wee. Very Interseting to me. Hopefully they get a game in this season due to all these tragic and devastating events over the past days. Unfortunately I don’t think STJFL board, coaches, or parents will be worried about football. They are going to be concerned about rebuilding and neighbor helping a neighbor. In my opinion any coach in any organization practicing during this time of devastation is kinda slap to the face to those who lost everything. Especially those kids who live in the hillcrest zone. Technically only two oraganzations that could possibly practice are nederland and PNG but we all know it’s about that $40 dollar Jiffy Super Bowl trophy we all can for the mantle. LOL

Simmons D is always salty. Cinco doesn't get the premiere players because they go to Katy. But They are undersized it seems like and not the biggest or the fastest but they play great technique football and coached extremely well. Very much like a certain bulldog team I know...

We played them in fall of 99 too. Barbay had to start because Sullivan was out. It was in the astrodome and we beat the younger McNown brother. The defense terrorized him for numerous turnovers. 

Larry Neumann was a great coach and motivator of young men and an even better person. I have always admired him and respected him. Nederland is my second favorite team. Even though I grew up in an era were you were supposed to hate Nederland I could not because of the other family members who played there. Nederland has lost a SETX icon. One of the top coaches in this area ever;. He took Nederland to new heights. Yes I know my Nederland history and heard about the Knights of the Neches and so on as my grandfather an astute Indian fan also went to Nederland playoff games and was there when they won state. Nederland will be hard pressed to find someone who could possibly fill his shoes. I see haters on here every year bash Nederland, yet even them agreed that Neumann would get the absolute most out of his kids. Below are a couple of memories I have of Neuman led teams. #1 Nedrland vs Friendswood. I believe this game was in Houston somewere possibly Rice or one of the nicer HS stadiums in Houston. Nederland pinned FW back deep on the kickoff and stuffed them on defense. Then Nedrland proceeded to beat a team they were massive underdogs to. Nederland vs Pearland I believe it was in about 2012. Another shocking Nederland win over if I remember right was the top team in the state. I remebetr watching Nederland beating future NFL QB one of the McCown brothers Luke, or Josh. Nederlands defense intercepted him 5 times in the area round of the playoffs. Seems like a Baycity game were Nederland had beaten them after losing to them before.....  Anyway thought Id share some of my memories of Neuman led teams.

Bring Kevin Barbay home from Florida to be AD and head football coach to guys that coach him. He has proven his self in the SEC but would Big Ned be the job that brings him home. Monte has been without being said the coach in waiting IMO for years. Rumors swirling around that a masters will be needed for AD and Head Football. Also when it comes to facilities and not passing bonds. Honestly we have to look at what businesses we have in Nederand. We don't have big donors or big businesses in Nederland. I do feel like it's time for parents to come together on a bond that is logical for tax payers and does what is right for the kids in the long run. As much as I want turf at bulldog stadium. We need new schools among other things plus renovation of bulldog stadium. It's not a 5 year plan. It's more like a 10 to 15 year plan plus tax increases. 

Does this mean the rumors of Matt Burnett and Larry Neumann becoming Head Football coach at Lamar are about to start happening? What about hometown boy Kevin Barbay at the university of Florida being brought back home to bring Lamar back to the promise land. He was the WR coach when our receivers were top in Southland. only time will tell. Woodard knew his time was up but I hate to see him go after all the injuries this season. O-LINE has to get better. I liked what I saw in the mid-county boys and king in back field just no holes to run into. Also Lamar needs a coach and team to feel the stands at home games. Unfortunately I saw PNG faithful fill the stadium but Lamar didn't this year. Lamar students and alumni we are better than that. I am very intrigued on by this search.
