​New Jersey was the last state up North to end slavery in 1865......same year as the South.

Slavery did not come up until later..... Abraham Lincoln wanted to colonize all the slaves in South America because he felt they were lesser than white people and would not do well in society. But he gets the credit for freeing the slaves

States Rights.....The Constitution.....and the facts that the South felt like they were not being represented fairly.

So, if we are banning racist things...... Should George Washington come off the 1 dollar bill? He owned slaves. Should Alexander Hamilton come off the 10 dollar bill, He bought and sold slaves for relatives..... Should Andrew Jackson come off the 20 dollar bill.....yup, he owned slaves..... The list could go on and on and we could remove everything with racist ties and forget history...... but when you forget history, doesn't that increase your chance to repeat it??

I believe even though the flag is on Capital grounds, it is on a war memorial. That is history and I see no problem with that. It was already taken off the Capital building in 2000.

​I didn't come here to gay bash or argue. I'm not sure how much softer and polite I would have needed to ask the questions I asked. You avoided my question......Looks like you don't want to discuss this with me. To everyone else...... I ask the same questions....there is no right or wrong answer:) Could multiple partner marriages be next? It is being done already according to PamFam.....Could it extend to gay groups? ​Question, When will it stop? A good question. While I do not think (and hope) bestiality will never be legal, what about multiple wives or husbands? That does not seem that far away. Who determined that a "couple" was the only way marriage could go? I will take that one step further, what if a man with 4 wives, or a woman with 4 husbands.....or 4 gay guys or 4 gay girls moved in next door to you. Would you associate with them? Have them over for dinner? Have we turned into a society where we have to accept everything, even if it conflicts with our heart and morals, or be considered bigots or haters?

TVC....... He was shot in the back......twice......while running unarmed......I get why it was done, and I agree with it......BUT I didn't think a cop could shoot an unarmed man in the back running away......He was obviously not in fear of his life....was it because he escaped?

Good post....... As a Republican, I wish more of us would discuss an issue without bringing up something the left does as justification. The RIGHT is not always right.....we get things wrong. I personally think we stood too firm on Gay rights, but I think we caved on the Confederate flag..... The point is, we are continually ARGUING with the other side, which gets us no where.......we need to be DISCUSSING things......and trying to understand the other sides view.....don't have to agree, just need to understand

​The problem I had Buddy, at least in PA Politics was the justification of Black Racist or racism by referring to the past and Jim Crow and somehow thinking White people miss those years. I'm the poster child of a normal white guy. I work, I have a kid, I fish and hunt, I should go to Church more, etc. I hang around people like me as well as of other races. None of my white friends wish anything of the sort. They do not sit around and plot how to be a racist or do bad things. I guess I just don't understand why someone would think that way......

I was a member of the Facebook page PA Politics-Keeping it real.......I just removed myself from that group. Typically the discussions were about the black - white issues in current events.....Some of the people would participate in a constructive debate, while others would continually put Race before logic......Today was the final straw..... [Hidden Content] Out of that entire group, there was only one that condemned "FINISH THE MISSION, KILL SLAVE MASTERS". The rest brought up Slavery, the racist flag and Jim Crow. They were making excuses for this hate talk. I can't tell you the anger I felt..... I found out there was a HUGE difference between me and them......and it wasn't color......it was I condemn ALL Hate....I don't ignore or give a pass to some groups like they gave a pass to this idiot. Now.....they can continue to look at the past and make excuses for where they are at today, It's a free country(at least for awhile) and if they want to cry in their past, that is their choice.....But the group PA Politics and their city is crumbling around them because they can't do anything about the present or the future because they are too busy crying about the past.....a very dead end group and a bunch of racist..... I feel better.......
