Thinking about takin the boat to Sabine pass sunday. Anyone heard how the fishing is? Last time I was out was a couple weeks after Ike. We did well on Reds on the LA side of the lake, near the cut of that bayou. Really would like to find some flounder!

If he keeps the staff it would be one less "change". Most people do like like change. If the players trust the staff and he can win over the coaches, it will be a better transition.....IMO

Come on people, I'm a supporter of Lumberton NOT PNG, but give the coach a break. How do you become a HC without someone giving you a chance? I'm sure they looked at his accomplishments in his current position and looked at his leadership skills. Good Luck PNG!

I think in 2-3 years they will be hard to stop. I think next season will be the learning curve! P.S. In the mean time you can come watch Lumberton ;D In all seriousness, PNG has a great tradition and football program, I'm looking forward to seeing it come back!

Good post. Although I am mainly a freshwater fisherman (who uses a 22.5ft CC boat), I do like to get out in salt water during the summers when not at the lake. I think(wish) more people would post information like this on the forum so we can stay proactive on these issues. So many things gets passed and we the public find out after the fact. And I will send that email!

wait a second........... When I hear comments like, "but if it was my daughter, I wouldn't care if he was white, black or any color in between" or "A young girl was sexually molested and all they focus on is underage drinking??"....why do we assume the guys are guilty. Is it possible the girl made up somethings? The case was heard by a grand jury and they decided not to go forward. If you recall, remember the rape case at Duke concerning the lacrosse players. We find out the victim made up several stories.........those guys will have that follow them for the rest of their lives. Not fair! and to the comment, "if it was my daughter"...........I would teach her never to put herself in a situation where she could get hurt.

Adults providing minors with alcohol is getting to be a big problem everywhere , that needs to be dealt with. Between 1980 - 1985, we had party's at TJ all the time. Not at the school obviously, but at peoples houses. Most usually had an adult around and beer or kegs. Does anyone remember the armory party's off 9th avenue..........was a blast!! Never had those kind of issues. Its a shame............

I think what your body becomes use to is important possibly. Back in the day, my Father worked at Gulf refinery outside, while my mother worked at a bank. In those days we had no AC, just an attic fan. My Father would find the house a nice cool 80-85 degrees, while my Mom was hot because she was used to AC at the bank. Kids these days (as posted by Shermdog) do play inside(x-box) much more than they play outside. Back in the day, I had to play outside.

How can you trust board members to do their job when they can't even arrive on time? I always tell my associates, I can train you to do anything, however you have to show up and have the desire! It does not look like they can "show up" on time or have the desire!

Maybe they view those projects as being a higher priority. What makes their decisions ridiculous and what business is it of an outside group/newsrag to determine such? It would be great if folks played a more active in their school boards and fully understood the entire picture. I would be curious as to the parental involvment the schools receive. Because it is a public meeting and this is a public forum. Everyone has a right to comment.....as did you. And I respect your opinion! If I were running a school board and knew we had some tough decisions to make, I would hold a "town meeting" with all the parents and ask for suggestions. This way you may get a few supporters or possibly find out whats important to the people who pay the taxes. I agree education is first and WO-S has its issues, but 6 people should not make those types of decisions without at least a warning. as the say: IMO :-X

Well written article. If there is not more to this story, this coach got shafted and is setting a standard for any other coach. The question is, how far do you push a kid? If you don't push them and get them strong, they may get hurt in the game right? What happens if a kid gets paralyzed? I have coached(assistant) youth football. Have I been 1 bear crawl away from jail time? How far do you push now??

If there was prizes or money involved, it would be fairly easy to be a big event. Not so much to start but if you start getting enough entries, sponsers start coming in. I'm in fresh or salt. There are several areas local that support both fresh and salt. Need to decide approximately when......spawning season is getting close.......and I'm all over that at the lakes.
