Other names to look at are Chase Angelle and Jordan Darnall.
Angelle may be the most improved player in the district, especially on the mound!
Should a MVP be given to the player who has the most impact on a teams success or simply the player with the best stats. Look at the teams and see how you think a team would perform over the season without a certain player on their roster. If you took Statum away would Orangefield still be as successful as a team. If you took Hicks away how would Bridge City be. I know that the MVP is the stats guy, but I want to know who everyone thinks the different MVP of each team should be. Should one of those guys be the district MVP even if he did not have the best stats overall. Just more to get chat going.
Nice Post! If you take Statum away from Orangefield, then I think they are still successful, but not as successful. Its hard to replace someone who is hitting over 500 (in my opinion best leadoff man in the district) and undefeated on the mound. To me the district MVP should be given to the best overall player in the district. Hard to argue Statums numbers!
Statum and Bellow, silly question. ;) ;D
This is a silly question. Statum and Bellow. Statum hit over 500 and undefeated on the hill in district with two wins against BC!

Tejas did you know that Cameron Yoe did not even make the playoffs? You are right we will see against Cuero but please don't come onthe this post where so far everyone has been positive amd try to stir up stuff. Orangefield and Bridge City are two fine baseball teams and the list you put are also good but let O'field have their day.
You have your opinion and I have mine. Orangefield has a good team, the best they've had in a long while, but I look for a team that has been there, done that to make it to Austin. Jasper and Carthage are the first that come to mind. Orangefield don't have horses on the mound to play at Dell Diamond. Congrats to the Field on a great year though.
I sure am glad 3A plays at Disch-Falk and not Dell Diamond then! Have you seen Statum or Angelle? Two quality left handers. I think they can hold their own in a 3 game series. -
You still have that Spurs CHAMPIONSHIP shirt? You're starting to sound like that poor crybaby Cuban!! Keep dishing out that money Cuban, maybe one day you will buy a championship!! GO SPURS GO
WOW. two excellent teams that will maybe meet again on up the playoff bracket ladder. I think the final result in this next game will again be-- who gets the most HRs.
Could be, however not many HRs are hit at OF. Out of the 23 OF has hit this year, I think only 5 or 6 were hit at home. -
OK now I'm going to put where these young men are player next year. So let me hear your guys college.
Hey Critter Statum is going to A&M, I think you had UT on the first page.

Good Luck Coach. You did a great job on improving girls basketball at Jasper. Hopefully you will bring your girls from Palestine down to the Orangefield Tournament next year.
If OF has that many potential MVPs then none of them are truly MVPs because they have too much talent around them. ;D
I never said they all should be MVPs. Others were asking so I posted stats.
