If OField is so great and has so many great players than Why have they been playing close games with 2a school and scoring in the single digits a couple times? I mean this is the same team that got beat by 1,000 against coldsprings right? I mean unless they just got Chris Johnson, Michael Vick, and Adrian Peterson this week stop exagerating! They havent played a great team yet! WE HAVE! And we will be the best we've ever been come friday! All i gotta say for all you orangefield fans doubting the stangs is make sure your boys buckle their chin straps real tight!!!
I don't see any post from any Orangefield fans doubting the stangs!!
 2.
Huckabay has done a very good coaching job at Orangefield in my opinion
I could not agree more!!

 5.

based on thursday night games orangefield will have a hard time scoring against jasper.  both 7 8th and 9th grade teams posted shut outs last night.
Jasper if they lose to Orangefield are in serious trouble...They have only 667 yds. in 5 games..scored 96 points...gave up 178.. 134 yds.avg per game won't get the job done..I'm not putting Jasper down it's just the facts...Good Luck to both teams...
WOW if Orangefield loses to Jasper with those kind of numbers Orangefield is in serious trouble!
 6. I believe this is only the 3rd meeting between these two.  OF won in 2006 33-7 and Jasper won in 2007 24-14.  If OF can establish its running game then they have a chance. (Big surprise huh!!)
 7.

Coldspring 53, Orangefield 6 late in the 3rd.
why.  why even schedule them for your HOMECOMING Orangefield???
Because Huck does not like to play homecoming during district so this was the only game we could have homecoming.
 8.
Great post.  I was at a small business in Beaumont this morning that is selling LU merchandise and those guys for so fired up it was contagious.  There really is a real buzz going on in the community.
I was at this same place yesterday and yes they are fired up!! Good guys, then I found out our tailgates are close, so I'm looking forward to talking with them again.

 10. Former longtime Orangefield girls basketball coach Bill Tennison lost his battle with cancer early this morning.  He was a great asset to the Orangefield community and had a great influence on many of the young people he coached.  After his retirement he continued to attend most Orangefield sporting events and almost never missed an Orangefield girls basketball game or Lamar womens home game.  You will be missed coach!!!!
 11.
Buy a rule book.
lol you might want to take your own advice! You can not break the huddle with 12 men. It does not matter if you run the play or not. It's an automatic penalty
 12.
Update on Jones?
This is just speculation, but it looked to be his ankle.  He walked to the locker room on his own power.  Hope he has a speedy recovery.
 13.
if of even scores 13 on us ima be pretty mad
Well I guess you are pretty mad because not only did OF score more than 13 but won the game!
 14. Looked like an ankle. He got popped by Logan Moss!
 15.
so there was only one score that being vidor on the last play???
Yes
Did he get hurt?
no..he had a 10 game suspension so had transfered but it is now a 5 game suspension.
So he had a 10 game suspension and decided to transfer, then after someone hears he is transferring, it is lowered to 5 games?
 17. Orangefield will be there. I think they are sending two teams.
 18. Where did he go?
 19.

Why would KFDM want to compete with Lamar games?
Good question. One that I cannot answer.
Sorry Aggies  that was more of a general statement and not directed at you.
 20. Why would KFDM want to compete with Lamar games?
 21. Why are these games moved to Saturday at the same time as Lamar games?
 22. I have 4.  My family and friends have about 20 in the same section.  Plus we have a tailgating spot.  Ready for the first game!!
 23. Scales named Female Athlete of the Year Gabriel Pruett Orange Leader ORANGE — Orangefield graduate Aimee Scales never believed she would make first team all-district in three sports her senior season. “I never once imagined I would be Athlete of the Year,” Scales said. Scales is exactly that after leaving behind a tremendous career with the Lady Bobcats. Scales has been named the 2010 Orange Leader Female Athlete of the Year for her contributions. This is the first time in the history of the award that Lady Bobcats won the title in back-to-back years. Allie Beach was the 2009 Female Athlete of the Year. She stayed busy this year, along with every year she was in high school. Scales starred in volleyball, basketball and softball. She never took time off and Orangefield fans grew  to always appreciate the hard work she put in. “It has been a nice honor for my senior year,” Scales said. “I loved playing sports. I really don’t know what I would have done without them.” First Scales took to the volleyball court. This year she was named District 21-3A’s Outstanding Outsider Hitter. Scales averaged 13 kills, two aces and three blocks a game. She had 21 kills against West Orange-Stark, a season-high. “Volleyball this year was my main sport,” Scales said. “I was so happy we had the success we had over the last two years. It felt great to be the senior and have the younger girls on my shoulders. Coach Holbrooks did a great job with us. As freshmen we used volleyball season to get in shape for basketball. That is totally different now. Now we wanted to always be pushing for the playoffs and try to reach some goals we set.” Then came basketball season, a very popular season in girls’ sports in Orangefield. The pressure is always on the Lady Bobcats to not only reach the playoffs but challenge for a district championship. Scales was first team All-District 21-3A and was named to the TABC Academic All-State Team. She averaged eight points, six rebounds, three steals and 2.5 blocks a game as a senior. “Every single person in Orangefield goes to Lady Bobcats’ basketball games,” Scales said. “I always had a lot of fun during basketball season and it was always a great experience. Coach Jost always understood me on and off the court. A lot of people don’t realize how great he is to talk to off the court, he is always willing to listen and help out. “Basketball season was always tough because there is so much pressure on us. We tried to carry out the tradition at Orangefield. Coach Jost made us even better.” Then when some seniors call it a year, Scales went right back to work on a different playing field. Scales turned to softball to keep her going. This year was a good year for Orangefield. They defeated their rival Bridge City Lady Cardinals in district. Even though the Lady Cardinals got their revenge and made the playoffs over Orangefield, Scales was still impressed with the Lady Bobcats’ season. Scales batted near .300 this year and was named First Team Outfielder for the 21-3A All-District Team. “I have watched the softball team get turned around,” Scales said. “We have a bunch of girls who are very talented on the team. They really want to win. I can at least walk away and say I was on the team that beat Bridge City. I will definitely be there to watch the team in the future and know they will keep on improving.” So through the years Scales has seen the good and bad times in all sports at Orangefield. Yet even when the bad was really bad, she would not trade her time for anything. “I really enjoyed all three sports so much,” Scales added. “The best is knowing the community supports you like they do. It really makes a difference and I was blessed to be a part of it all.”
 24. Who knows!!  It looked to be Quinton Evans, who I think would have done a great job, but not sure if he is playing now.  If he does not play, then your guess is as good as mine!
 25.
It seems like everyone is taking the white flight to orange field.
Don't know if I would say that, Orangefield has not grown very much.  I do expect to see OF's enrollment to increase the next few years after the city sewer currently being installed is complete.  I think you will see more subdivisions and possibly apartments being built in the next few years.
