My daughter has a picture on her phone of the field from when it rained so bad whatever day it was and you could see were a couple of spots of green.  It looked like a lake.

Race is going to be an issue weather your black, white, asian, mexican or another nationality no matter what.  We just have to do and act the right way and over look the others.  We can't change other people if they don't want to.

I don't use the N word and a whole bunch of other words and I sure don't approve of my kids (3 who happen to be 18 or older and one younger) using any of those words either.  But as a parent I know that I can teach my kids right from wrong but that doesn't always mean they are going to do right.  Also who knows where that kid heard the N word from it could have been his parents or it could have been at school or day care or where ever (I work with kids and they say some crazy stuff).  Who really knows.  I sure hope that as a parent I am not judged by all the mistakes my kids have made because they are not angels but they aren't bad kids either they are just kids who made by choices and were punished for them.

As far as the other things that you mentioned that happen not saying they were right but stuff like that goes on in all sports up until HS and probably past that also.  I have seen/heard lots of kids girls included of all colors say things they would not say if they weren't in a game setting or who knows they might but I doubt it.  Doesn't make it right.  I have always told my kids to not do or say something you wouldn't do in front of me.  My kids are far from angels but they know I do not play with that name calling stuff.  In all sports you see kids and even grown men act like fools  doesn't make it right but it happens especially if it is a losing team.  Still doesn't make it right. Also it should be about the kids but lets be honest with ourselves most people like to win.  I mean that is what it is really all about.  We can preach it is just a game but if we are honest with ourselves it is really about winning because no one remembers the 2nd place team.  Does it make it right, no.
