I know that, I didn't mean anything by it, I was simply stating that it takes a toll on the kids when they turn around and the fans are leaving.  That is all.
My post wasn't toward you I had just been thinking about this thread since earlier.  How people always complain when their fans leave and then others say the kids don't care.  When in reality some of them do care.
 2. Port Neches Middle School are the Warriors and Groves Middle School are the Braves.

 4.
From a parental stand point my kids aren't ALLOWED to quit. PERIOD! I firmly believe in a such thing as COMMITMENT! No its another thing to say I'm not going to play next year, but to just quit (for whatever reason) is unacceptable. My step-son played his 7th grade year and midway through the season he started talking about quitting. I told him "if you quit then I'm going to take your phone for the rest of football season" needless to say I didn't have to take it. I said /did this because I felt/feel that if your team (that you made a commitment to, and they were/are depending on you) has to lose something, then he was going to see how they felt and lose something as well. Its not always about wining and losing, sometimes its about life lessons like manhood, character, responsibility etc.
+1

Logan was their top reciever for this year. He is suppose to focus on baseball. Hate to hear this and good luck to these young men.
As a WOS fan, if we had anything to do with these young men  quiting, I sincerily apologize. I think that the PNG fan`s  should get some of the blame because they walked out on these kids in the third quarter.
This is nothing new it happens at EVERY HS, College and Professional football game across America.  PN-G is not the only fans that leave early.  I personally do not leave until after the final seconds click off the clock.
 7.
If you start something, you finish it.  (period) Life lesson is "don't quit." Win or lose, keep going, No matter how bad the coaching is or isn't, keep going, No matter if you don't see things happening the way you think they should, keep going, No matter if you want to quit (no matter how "bad" it is), keep going, and in the end if you do, you will be the winner, no matter how the results played out.
This is the one thing that I have constantly told my kids. I also add give it your all no matter what.
I apologize. Please don't take it the wrong way. I like and root for PNG (expect when y'all play Central), but it sickens me at times.
No need to apologize.  Sometimes it sickens me also what some of our fans say.  But then that can be said for quite a few fans.
Don't knock it until you try it.  I have sat in the stands at a couple of Bulldog games and actually found my self standing and cheering for them.  ;)
No. Smoking Baby just finally figured out the Dayton jokes have gotten stale. ;D
Smokin realized that no one on this board cares about the mound OR Dayton.  He's gotta get someone stirred up and who better to pick on than the NDNs. I love to give it to the NDNs (as much as the next Bulldog Fan) BUT I have ALWAYS said this about the Purple Pride in serious conversation.... They have such a unique tradition that I HAVE NEVER seen anywhere else. Their fans follow any team BETTER than any other I have ever seen.  You have to admire their loyalty to their school colors, I have NEVER seen people more dedicated to wearing "purple" on Fridays no matter where they live (presently). You gotta hand it to the Indians, some of the people hate you, the others want to beat you and a few want to actually be like you (but can't) BUT only one can be your rival......and I am sure glad it's us, from a Nederland Bulldog. How many high school football rivaliries are known only by initials......MCM????  That's says it all.
This is an awesome post.  Nothing like MCM!!  Even with the rivalry we always cheer each other on in the playoffs.  Yes I have purchased the dreaded black and gold shirts before for my kids.  Don't tell anyone.  :o 8) ;D  I even have pictures of a former Bulldog football player in a purple playoff shirt.  :o
 13. Prayers going up for this young man and his family for a speedy recovery.

Turf would be nice particularly how the field conditions at Tiger Stadium has been over the past few years. It gives you a lot of options, playoff games, etc. Tiger Stadium field condition is very good, did a lot of work on it this past year. But one monsoon and a game played in it would destroy it for another year. Silsbee was to get turf a few years ago. Had a cost study done and had a company come out and measure for turf. But then some other financial issues came up in the district and it had to be shelved for the time being. Now just waiting on a rich donor to buy it for us. ;)
That would be a great addition to an already nice stadium.  Should draw some of the East Texas playoff games as well.  Not to mention that freaking Butch Stadium is COLD when the north wind blows.
That's t he wind blowing because BH usualy 'sucks'.
;D ;D ;D
 15. The PA News covered the Nederland Scrimmage.  I only know because I saw a picture of the front page of it. The sports section isn't really my section unless my hubby tells me to read something.
 16. Last year after we lost to Big Ned we did our normal trip to Pizza Inn on Magnolia to meet some friends.  A couple of them said that Faircloth better be careful or he is going to lose his job if he losses to Nederland again.  I spoke up and said that was a stupid thing to say.  He of course went on and on about  how people are not happy that we have lost to Nederland twice.  Big whoop does that one game make or break his coaching career?  Maybe to some but not in my eyes, I look at the BIG picture of things.  He has done an awesome job in my book and I hope he stays here for a very long time.  But there are some people who will say that he is gone if he loses again.  I sure hope that is not the case.

[Hidden Content]
My daughter saw him and told me that she wanted to run in the Olympics.  She is 8 and loves to run.  I just pray she keeps that passion for running.
 19.
Had this conversation with the girlfriend tonight.... What happened to Gabby Douglas in the event finals? You would think that the lady who wins the All-Around Gold would fare better.... I personally think she is mentally and physically exhausted.... To compete at the Olympic level that many consecutive days with that kind of pressure has to be getting to her at only 16 years old.... She has had a great Olympics, but people won't remember it as well as they should because of the beam and bar finals.... Aly Raisman on the other hand has been phenomenal the entire time!!!
I also think it is her age and the pressure and exhaustion.  Aly on the other hand is the team captain for a reason.  She is mentally tough and knows how to champion her teammates.
