1. Nederland wins this one hands down and with no problems.
 2.
I agree with the 3 previous posters.  People don't have a problem getting up that early an 8am soccer game in Houston or a 9am select baseball game in Houston.  What's the big deal?  You go to bed earlier.  I always looked at it from an advantage standpoint.  If our team was more disciplined off the field and did what they were supposed to do by going to bed earlier, then we would have an advantage on the field at 8am.  Just my 2 cents. By the way Smashmouth, did you notice the thread discussing your feelings being hurt just suddenly disappeared.  Man, that was totally insensitive on someone's part. :)
I bet if it was a Varsity playoff game people would be up and tailgating early before the game.  8)  I know I sure would and have many a times.  ;)
 3. Sending prayers for all involved.  Remember to hug and kiss your kids/loved ones and tell them you love them.
 4.

To all contributors: I just spent a while reading the posts on this site.  While I see a lot of healthy collaboration and information sharing on this site, I also see the dark side of youth sports.  Let me share one of my favorite sayings in the WBBIFL: In youth football, we have to deal with a lot of immaturity and childish behavior, and sometimes the kids act up as well.  This site really makes that obvious.  This season, despite my efforts to make Beaumont the model of integrity, I have had to deal with angry board members (from my own board and the STJFL), and angry parents as a result of my commitment to, and determination to uphold, the rules and bylaws of the STJFL.  Don't get me wrong; I absolutely agree with the rules of the STJFL and the spirit of the organization.  My kid is out there.  I want him protected, and I feel like the STJFL does the best job of that out of any youth sports organization I have ever been affiliated with.  But, protection should go beyond freedom from physical harm.  Protection should also cover the feelings of the players, their parents, and the coaches.  This week, I have seen physical protection upheld, but I have seen a multitude of feelings hurt. By people talking without realizing who is listening. By people making posts on this site that seem to promote a personal agenda while making inaccurate statements or accusations.  By fathers having difficult conversations with their sons.  It makes me sad to see something that I love tarnished by such ugliness.  And we “adults” are completely to blame.  There are no kids posting on this website.  There are no kids in the stands bad-mouthing the coaches that sacrifice their time to make youth sports possible.  There are no kids plotting new and creative ways to circumvent the rules for their own benefit.  The kids don’t feel persecuted; they just want to play.  And we screw that up by running our mouths.  I challenge everyone to use this site for good, not evil.  If everyone can’t do that, well, this is America and we are absolutely guaranteed our right to free speech, so I (and everyone else) can just get over it.  But, if you are a member of the Beaumont association, I beg you, please rise above.  There is nothing to be gained by talking smack on this site, and there is much to lose, starting with your own dignity, and then the reputation of our league.  Please don’t ruin this thing we have all worked so hard to make great.  Actions speak louder than words.  Show everyone what you can do on the field, not in front of your computer. For the kids, Keith Davis President WBBIFL
I agree with half of your statement, what I dont agree with is DADDY BALL. Its everywhere, you have the same kids playing O & D the entire game. 1 kid makes a error, he sits and then the following games that same kid plays his mandatory 10 plays and sits the rest of the game. While the others that play the entire game make errors dont sit the entire game. Some of these kids are old enough to see that and have feelings too. That is another reason why kids dont want to continue playing or dont make an effort to play, they sit an entire quarter of a gmae go in with 00:12 left for 1 play  then sit the enitre next quarter. This might open another can of worms but its true talk. We adults may get on here and talk smack, but the kids have the feelings on the field or sidelines.
I have seen this in select baseball as well.  ::)  A coaches kid plays all the time while other better kids sit the bench. That is DADDY BALL as well.....It's part of life that we will never change. If a kids parent is the manager or coach, there will be some form of daddy ball.  Some Dads can handle it, others not so much.  The best thing you can do is explain to your kid that life is not always fair, there are good coaches and bad coaches, and to live and learn.  What does not kill you makes you stronger.
I have seen it at he high school level also.  Where a kids who was a good player warmed the bench most of his Junior year all because his Coach didn't care for him much.  He quit playing the game he loved his Senior year because of that coach.  But it isn't a sad ending story because in the end that young man went on to ump little league and this past summer even went to coach in the early games of the LL World Series.  He had the time of his life and made lots of memories.
 5. I don't have sons who play football or softball for that matter.  I have daughters and we have had early morning volleyball and basketball tournaments out of town.  As a parent we do what we have to do.  If that means putting our kids to bed a little earlier or waking them up a little earlier.  We do it because they are doing something they love and want to do.  Now my youngest daughter loves to run and most races are held early in the morning and if you have packet pick up on race day then you have to be there at least thirty minutes to an hour early.  It is something she loves and wants to do and so we will put her in as many races as we as her parents feel she can handle at the age of 8.
 6. My friend that listened to PNG/Central game on the radio on her patio (she lives in Brentwood or whatever that gold course name is) said she could hear PNG's band but never heard Central's.  I guess because they were facing us is why she didn't hear them. But they sure were loud and so was the score board.
 7. I would love for my Indians to win but I just don't think that will happen. A girl can wish can't she?  ;)
 8. As a PNG fan I am so embarrassed seeing all these comments downing Nederland. SMH. Sorry to tell everyone the better team one and there is not a person at that game that can deny it. Let never have the lime light because those boys deserve it. You all know that if hell froze over and PNG would have won last night that every single PNG fan on this board would have been on here running their mouths. Please just stop and congratulate the Bulldogs on the win and move on.  Good Luck in the playoffs Nederland this Indian will be pulling for you.
 9.
Everyone in the Golden Triangle. It should I say everyone in the world knew it was goin to be like that, but for some strange reason at least one of the local channels pick this game for the game of the week. In the sports section of today's Beaumont Enterprise no one picked PNG to win this one, not even the buffalo nickel!!
Isn't it past your bedtime.
 10. I am just ready for game time already.  I want to be off work.
 11.
Well I had tickets to tonights game, I had put them in my glove compartment so I would have them. Put my truck in the shop at vins paint and body shop, and some sorry bastard stole them. I'm not a happy camper right now. If by chance I happen to get in the game, lord help them if they have the balls to sit in my seats. Someones gonna get an butt whippin.  >:(
Check your PM's I sent you a message. I was telling a friend of mine about what happened to your tickets and she told me to tell you that if tickets were your SEASON tickets to call the administration building (ticket office).  Let them know what happened and they should be able to either print you new tickets or at the very least write a note stating that they are your season tickets and that they were stolen and that should get you into the game.  Now if they are not your season tickets then there is nothing they can do. Good Luck and I hope this helps you out.
 12. To say Salt Grass is the only quality restaurant we have here is a slap in the face.  In down town Beaumont right next to Hamburger Depot is a great little Italian restaurant called New York Pizza and Pasta and so far everything I have had is amazing.  Even Hamburger Depot has some amazing burgers if you are looking for that. There is also a new cajun place called Thibideaux's  New Orleans Kitchen in Beaumont on Old Calder Road. There is a nice restaurant down in Nederland on Boston Avenue called Finch Hutton if you want fine dining. Everything on their menu is do die for. There is also Larry's French Market down in the Groves which has great food but you need to have time because it is always busy. I am sure there are a lot more that I am missing but to say that Salt Grass is the only thing that the Golden Triangle has to offer is a little harsh.  Also who goes to HOOTERS for the food?  ;D
 13.

I know of some Nederland fans who walked into their office.... Cherokee blasting and their office decorated in purple.
I hope they won't be too sick to attend the game tonight...I knwo that would make me ill...lol
A little Purple cures everything.  ;)
 14.
The only time Cheermom's cooking stinks is when she is cooking cabbage or chitlin's. The rivalry stuff has been stifled by PC mentality and zero tolerance policies. I've heard about the stuff in the 60's but the putting a Purple flag up the pole and cutting the rope is new to me. I like it. Kids in those days were more creative because they had to be. nowadays many of them or on ADD meds etc Couple that with all the electronic stuff and they aren't as interested. Although it would be funny if some computer nerd hacked in to the scoreboard or something
Thanks, ndn2016 my husband loves my cooking as long as it isn't yard bird.  ;D ;D  He's been eating it for over 21 years. But I have to say my smothered cabbage and bacon is to die for.  8)

 16. I know last year many yard signs were broken beyond repair. Those things are not cheap either, a couple hundred dollars at least. That to me is uncalled for. I work hard for the things I have but then I would have pulled my sign up the week before MCM. I wouldn't have taken a chance of something happening to it.
 17.
That is a BIG negative Cheermom4!
Not from where I sit it isn't it is a HUGE POSITIVE.  I love the color black almost as much as I love purple because it is slimming.  ;D  But that ugly as gold is not my thing, I prefer platinum.  8)
 18. Go Dogs!!!!!
Yep our new field is fricken awesome!
But it sounds so much better this way.................... PURPLE AND WHITE ON A FIELD OF GREEN PRETTIEST SIGHT YOU HAVE EVER SEEN!!!!  ;) 8)
 19. I am sure there will be lots of people tailgating and lots of food will be available before the game.

MCM is the varsity game....sounds like a bunch of wanna-be dads...on sub-varsity
This is an Underclassmen thread...MCM is every game!
tickets sell out for these subvaristy games??  enlighten me, now
You would be suprised... there are not many dads on this thread. IF you dont like it go find something else to do. By the way, the girls play volleyball in mid county madness Friday. Both schools and media recognizes softball, baseball, basketball etc. The subvarsity games is a rivalry, so whats wrong discussing the upcoming game. And no, there will not be a sell out for Thursday games. I wil bet there will more people in the stands for sub-varsity than any other game in the area. So chill dude, its just a thread to discuss a game.
oh, I guess its a bunch of moms on here....lol ::)
Who do YOU think should be on here, OH WISE ONE?
 21.
I think the poster is an underclassmen ;D
Has to be and an underclassman who probably doesn't get to play because he has a terrible attitude.
 22.
If i remember correctly, there is a saying that Friday Nights START on Saturday Morning...& that includes Tuesdays & Thursdays. These kids dream of Friday Nights for years. And getting ready for that whether it be on Saturday, Tues, or Thurs is all part of it. It doesnt mean that it doesnt matter. These sophmores that were moved up were on these JV teams just a few weeks ago. Everyone on that field no matter what day of the week makes a difference...js  ;)
Very well said +1.  Not to mention those Varsity coaches are at those Saturday, Tuesday and Thursday games.  Maybe not all of them but some of them.
 23. I know for me and my family that has both Indians and Bulldogs in it.  It has been a smack talk rivalry since some of the kids were born.  I can remember my nephew coming to my house in his Bulldog shirt and me taking it off and throwing it in the trash.  8)  He was only about 5 then, he is about to be 13 now. He still remembers it and laughs.
