tram, haven't seen you on here in a while. Is Mart legit this year? I know they had some defensive and health issues early in the year, but seems like they're rolling now and I know Mart always has a shot come playoff time. BigTank says that their backfield is lights out with a Soph/Fresh combo. How do they compare to Alto, SA, and WS in your opinion? T+R+A+M flipped = M A R T  ;)

[/quote] HD beat one team with a winning record. (Iola). Alto beat two teams with a winning record (Tenaha and West Sabine). Alto lost to a 5-5 2A-DII school, and an 8-2 1A school. HD lost two games to 5-5 2A schools (one DI/one DII) and one loss to an 8-2 2A school. In Alto's other six wins, their opponents have a combined 17-44 record. In HD's other six wins, their opponents have a combined 16-44 record.

[/quote] Back when  Maurice Clarrett challenged the 3 year out of high school rule and won, opening the door for USC WR Mike Williams in 2004 before it was overturned. I remember hearing that Adrian Peterson (a HS senior at the time) was pretty set on entering the draft out of high school before all that got flip flopped. He was a projected Top 10 NFL pick if he entered the draft. After 1900 yards rushing his freshman season at OU, (and all his success since then) he proved that would not have been a mistake. I am a big supporter of the rule that you must wait until 3 years after your graduating class. I hate what it has done to college basketball with one and done players, and even worse when you could go straight out of high school. The NBA game has been affected by this as well.

I'm not even getting into this other than to say when HD played Kountze early in the season, they were for real. That's where the original cheerleader run through sign was at. I don't know if they got distracted, coaching fell apart, the QB situation caused issues or what, but when they played HD, that was a playoff team at the 2A level. I really felt like they would compete with EC for 2nd in that district. As far as the QB goes, I know HD fans were happy everytime we saw Teel in the game at QB. When the freshman Arnold came in, we held our breath. That kid should have been the QB all season in my opinion, freshman or not. The kid is electric and that is the truth. The Harpers were playing RB/WR on offense, and DB when I saw them play, so not sure if Justin Harper was better than Arnold, but I highly doubt it. Both those kids needed to be on the field at all times, and with Arnold at QB they were. Like I said, the Kountze team I saw was legit and an 8 win 2A team in my opinion. Heck they beat 3A Shepherd who narrowly missed the playoffs and knocked off Huffman. I think it never came together after the first few weeks of the season. Hopefully Kountze will regroup next year and settle on Arnold at QB.
