Hull-Daisetta Bobcats vs Alto Yellow Jackets
HDBobcats9 replied to H-D BOBCAT 55's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Can't wait. This should be a great game!! -
I do think the Wolves roll in this one catching the weakest team of the 8 remaining in Region III. I think the other three games will be close. This one....not so much. San Augustine - 44 Axtell - 13
-
Franklin's tailback Darius Floyd and fullback Chris Morrow both rushed for just over 2,000 yards each last year. Both were All-State RB selections. I think Floyd has been the focal point this year but both can go. Franklin will put up some rushing yards and some points. I think EC can take them as long as Roberts is healthy. I say : East Chambers - 51 Franklin - 42 P.S. HD ran into Franklin in the 2nd Rd after we beat Timpson in '98. The Lions beat the Bobcats 34-19 and HD hasn't ran into them since to try to get some revenge. We'll be rooting for our old district rival to put the whoopin' on 'em for us! Good luck Bucs from HD!

West Sabine is a good team and at one point during the season, I think they could have beat Mart..... just not now. Mart is finally healthy and they will be a load for anyone in the playoffs. I wouldn't be surprised if Lacy helps keep it close for a while. My prediction: Mart Panthers - 42 West Sabine Tigers - 26

Hull-Daisetta Bobcats vs Alto Yellow Jackets
HDBobcats9 replied to H-D BOBCAT 55's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I think whoever wins the war in the trenches will win this game. Both teams can pound the rock and play good defense. If either team's offensive/defensive line begins to dominate, that will be the difference. Lavalais and Whitaker will be the two best players on both sides of the ball for their teams, but I think they cancel each other out at RB/LB. Sturns and Edmondson are both solid QB's. HD will not have 5 turnovers (4 in 2nd half) like Harleton did to open the flood gates for the Yellowjackets. I think this will be a pretty low-scoring affair. HD will want to pound the ball with Herman, Lavalais, Espree, Edmondson, Redmond, and Hickman to set the tone. They do have nice WR's in Mosely, Huckabay, and Welch. Both teams will have to hang on to the ball and eliminate turnovers. Special teams and limiting the big play is always a key, especially in a matchup like this. The ROACHES have to be nasty in the trenches for HD to win, and I honestly think they will. Bobcats - 26 Yellowjackets - 20 [move]HD NATION!!![/move] -

Alto vs Harleton Updates/Scores

Harleton had a 9-7 lead in the 3rd, but Alto just poured it on after that. Congrats to Alto on the win. Bobcats vs. Yellow Jackets!! -

Alto or Harleton wins, plays Hull-Daisetta?
HDBobcats9 replied to H-D BOBCAT 55's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
If Whitaker is unable to go, I think his loss is bigger on the defensive side of the ball at LB. Don't get me wrong, he's a helluva RB, and gets the hard/tough yards , but the kid who stepped in last friday had 230+ yards rushing.
I didn't know the kid that replaced him put up that kinda numbers. Whitaker is a dang good player and the film I've seen he makes Alto super tough with his play on both sides of the ball. He and Darrell Lavalais remind me a lot of each other. I know Alto has a bunch of athletes like they always do. I know it will be an uphill battle for HD against them but I think it will be a good game that either team could win. Much respect for the Jackets. Wish them the best against Harleton this week. HD will be ready for either team. I hate the lack of respect the Bobcats get but I guess it's deserved. Respect isn't given, it's earned. That is exactly what we plan on doing starting with Alto or Harleton. -

Alto is pretty banged up from what I hear. As long as Whitaker is healthy, they are gonna be tough. I think Alto pulls this one out against Harleton by two scores. As far as HD vs. Alto, I think HD shocks the world (except the community of HD) and beats Alto in Rd. 2. Yes, HD had a weak district, but they dominated like they should have. The scores may not reflect that, but Finney likes to let his foot off the gas when the victory is well within hand. HD has won 5 games in a row and here's what the scores were at one point: HD vs. O'Connell - (34-0 2nd qtr) HD vs. Normangee - (43-6 3rd qtr) HD vs. Iola - (36-16 4th qtr) HD vs. WH - (44-6) HD vs. Colmesneil - (27-0 2nd qtr) Alot may be surprised when they meet the Bobcats!!! (if they beat Harleton) -

I think Hunstville makes the most sense. It's about 85 miles from Alto and 90 miles from HD. Livingston is a decent midway point as well. I think Alto wins, but Harleton may give them a game. They played Joaquin and Timpson pretty tough this year. -
