1. I think this will be a good game. HD's question mark is their OLine, and Hardin brings some big kids to the dinner table. HD's defense has looked excellent up to this point. Contain Delahousse and the Bobcats win. They have too much talent in the backfield not to move the ball. I am not looking past Hardin and I can assure that Coach Finney has tremendous respect for the Hornets team and staff. Good luck to both teams... Hardin - 16 Hull-Daisetta - 32

West Sabine - 42 Kelly - 18
You have to be kidding…just knowing what I know about the Kelly Team this year and hardly anything about WS…I don't think a #7 ranked 1A team can have enough fire power to put up 42 points on Kelly. The most improvement of this years team from last will be seen on defense.
I'm not kidding one bit. I'm sure Kelly will be improved but they won't even be close in this game IMO. As far as the 42 points... West Sabine dropped 60 on Kelly last year and called off the dogs in the 3rd quarter. The Tigers return 17 or 18 starters so I can't see this being any different than last year. Just my .02 cents.
3. Before I saw Burkeville in person, I would have picked the Oilers by a couple TDs. I actually think BV wins this game. They have a very good athlete at QB, several athletic speedsters at the skill positions and in the defensive backfield. Their OLine lacks depth, but they surprisingly have tremendous size. Several large kids across the front including at TE/DE that has to go 6'6" 275lbs. Burkeville - 22 West Hardin - 16
4. I watched Sabine Pass on Thursday against HD's junior varsity squad. They out scored the young Bobcats 3 to 2 in a very competitive game. They have three playmakers on the Sharks roster. The QB and WR are both good athletes. Their running back has good size and decent speed. All three of these players were good on the defensive side of the ball. Unfortunately they don't stack up anywhere close to what DV will bring to the table. Pirate JV should finish the second half of this game. Deweyville - 56 Sabine Pass - 12
5. BV picks up a couple first downs before being sacked on 4th and 6 by Dezman Cook. The next play Cade Huckabay takes it 70 yards for the HD TD. XP no good. Final of live half Hull-Daisetta - 26 Burkville - 0 Defense looked great for the Bobcats. Ready for Hardin!!
6. Colby Espree with a 32 yard TD run after a nice 27 yard run by Darrell Lavalais. XP Good. HD - 20 BV - 0
7. HD scores in 4 plays. Capped by 5 yard run by Austin Edmondson, after nice run by Tyler Redmond.
8. Live Action BV picks up 5 yards on 2 plays. Dustin Welch with 2nd pick of scrimmage. HD takes over on BV 32 TD line
9. Game-style Sabine Pass Varsity - 9 plays, 70 yard drive for TD. HD JV - 11 plays, 70 yard drive for TD
10. 2nd controlled 10 plays HD - 1 TD. 4 first downs. Zero turnovers. BV - 0 TDs. 1 first down on final play. (Nice swing pass for 10 yards) SAbine Pass Varsity - 2TDs HD JV -0 TDs
11. HD vs Burkville - 1's (10 play controlled) HD - 1 score. 3 other nice runs and one completion. Positive yards on 9 of 10 plays. BV - 0 scores. No first downs. 3 positive yardage plays for 13 yards. One sack resulted in fumble. One interception thrown. Sabine Pass Varsity - 0 scores HD JV - 1 TD
12. I think the Bobcats will have a great season this fall. They return too much talent to not succeed. Coach Finney has these kids believing they will win every game they play. Regular season will be a good test for HD. The only true cupcake on last year's schedule (Galveston O'Connell) was replaced with Halletsville Sacred Heart. This should be a solid test as they are coming off back to back state championship game appearances including the title in 2011. Hardin, Lovelady, and Normangee will be improved from last season. Groveton will be a tough game especially playing on the Indians home turf. They should be better than last season as well and will have good speed at the skill positions. Easily the two toughest games on the sked this season will be 2A foes Deweyville and Kountze. The Pirates return alot of talent and have a new coach who has turned the program around similar to what Finney has done at HD. The Pirates won't reap the benefit of four extra possessions (onside kicks) or homefield advantage this year. I thought DV was the better team last year, but not by the margin of victory that they won by. This season's game will be a great battle and I could see it going either way. The Kountze Lions are the team that will really be the toughest challenge to the Bobcats. Not knocking either school's kids, but I think Kountze has more talent than DV, but the Pirates are more physical and play harder. If the Lions show up and get up early, it will be over by halftime. If HD plays their smashmouth brand of ball, physical defense, and contains the big play, the Bobcats will win. HD will again sweep their monsterous district (all three teams) with Iola and Colmesneil being tough challenges. I see HD going anywhere from 7-3 to 10-0. Barring injuries, my honest prediction is that HD goes 9-1 in the regular season. Their 3 losses last year were to Kountze, DV, and Groveton. HD dominated Groveton (350 total yards to 130) but didn't get the win. That changes this season. For some reason I believe that HD splits with Deweyville and Kountze. I don't know which game they win, and which one they lose, but it will be tough to pull out both those victories. All three of those games will be closley contested games and the team with the will to win in the 4th quarter will win. I don't see a blowout in either teams favor in any of these games. If HD wins the district, they should get the 2nd place team from District 10. This will most likely be West Sabine or San Augustine (if they get past D-9 3rd place team in round 1). Alto and Mart will win their districts and both end up on the bottom side of the playoff bracket. I see HD beating West Sabine in the 2nd round before advancing to face Joaquin or Bosqueville in the 3rd round. HD pulls out the win and faces the winner of Mart and Alto in the regional final. Hopefully whoever wins that game between the 'Jackets and Panthers will be all beat up! Just my .02 cents which doesnt' mean much, but that's how I feel. Good luck to Hull-Daisetta and all the teams in the area.
13. Hull-Daisetta: Hardin Deweyville Alto Kountze Groveton West Sabine LIBERTY only three district games leaves plenty of room for a great schedule.

You cant be a troll when you know I'm gonna be here all year buddy.  HD is SETX's reject team.....and you know it.
Classless!! All I can say is they (HD) will still be playing football in the playoffs, while your team will be practicing jumpshots
Doubt it.
I don't, it's the truth. I gave credit to San Augustine for a great sports year as a whole. Really and truthfully, was it that much better than what HD did? SA lost one less game and played one more week before getting beat by 4 TD's in the playoffs. Hope ya'll had fun with a regional semi-final birth last year, because you won't sniff the third round this year.
15. HD should be Austin Edmondson. 1st team all-district QB last year but you never know. He was a RB until last season so he may get shifted back to running back if someone else steps up big. Coach Finney and Huckabay will make the right call no doubt.
16. Yeah the kid is a freak. Already 5'10" 190lbs and runs a 4.4 40.
17. Lol your such a troll. HD doesn't care about any other sport. We finished 2nd in track back to back years a few years back including back to back 100m champion and 2nd in sprint relay. Who cares tho. I'm talking about this year. HD would crush SA without looking back this season. They had a great year last year and I'm not taking anything away from the SA program. Just tired of your garbage. If HD did good in basketball (which they will go a couple rounds deep this year) baseball, or track nobody would care if the football program wasn't successful. I'm not saying that's a good thing but its the truth. Just wait til the season starts and talk to me a few weeks in.
18. My brother just called and said he found a bunch of our old game tapes in my grandma's garage. He named off a few including HD vs. EC '95. I told him to keep that one and I'll take the rest lol
19. Nevermind. Just saw where they mentioned him when talking about Mart in the 1A preview section. Just didn't list him on the Mart team preview.
20. Just wondering if the freshman phenom is still a Mart Panther? Only reason I ask is that after reading DC Texas Football mag section on Mart, there was no mention of Cosby whatsoever. You would think being a returning all-state selection and one of the top three players on the team (along with QB Thomas and LB Nail) that there would have been a mention.
21. I have no connections to either school, but I'd have to represent the PN-G Indians! Been to a couple Mid-County Madness games and those Indian fans are awesome. The Reservation is a cool stadium and lots of history with their program.
