1.
im taking hemphill. they gona be fired up at home. ws gave up almost 400 yds vs timpson. hemphill played garrison close till till the 3rd qt. im saying hemphill 23 ws 16.  dont like either team haha
Glad that you pointed out that you don't like either team, we were all so anxious to hear that.  We really do care who you like and don't like.  West Sabine wins this one by 14+ and then will turn thier attention to repeating what happened last year in SA except it will be in front of the home crowd this year.  Good luck against Alto.
2. Will be an easy W for the Wolves however the wolfpack will get thier first serious test the following week when they face West Sabine.
3. West Sabine 34 Timpson        6 WS has too much speed for Timpson.  The Tigers defense is the best I've seen in years.
4.
I think West Sabine picked up some kids that used to play down in Brookeland which would explain the depth. They struggled a little early but have been solid in district, I don't know if that comes from improvement or playing in a weak district .I quess we will find out this weekend.I know they got a basketball guy sitting in the supt. chair.
2 of the 15 kids on the WS  team came from Brookeland one of which has been at WS 3 years and the other is a Freshman in his 2nd year there.  Struggled early?  They were playing ranked 2A and 3A teams, they've yet to be beat by a 1A team.
5. West Sabine's Desmond Lacey WILL be the best QB in the district.  He tore his ACL in the 4th game of the season this past year and at that point he already had 6 or 7 passing td's and probably 250 yards rushing.  His command of the game was unreal for only a soph. qb.  He has returned to sports and looks 100%.
6.
Does anyone know what size players WS has, and what type of ball do they play?? I hope its a good match up. I think the second game will be a good one. WOS has no real basketball players just great athletes with lots of speed. The third game I think HJ is just to strong for PNG.
Not a whole lot of size, one 6'4, a couple 6'2, and the rest under 6'.  WS has a ton of speed and depth.  The top 10 on the roster are just as good as each other and because of this WS tends to pull away in the 4th by wearing down the opponent.
7. Not sure exactly how many it will seat but it's plenty big to host playoff games for larger schools.
8. Give the guy a chance.  If he can keep the Twine boys in Hemphill and get more kids to turn out for football he will have done a lot.
9. West Sabine is not losing as much as everyone thinks.  Starting QB will be back, he'll be the best QB in the district IMO, plus several of the best defensive players coming back.  There are several moving into varsity that are REALLY good.  Skill positions will not be as potent as far as having as many weapons but there will be 3 at skill positions that will be just as good as any that graduate this year plus the line will be much improved.  I look for the Tigers to be just as good if not better than last year.
10. If you have not seen the new Gym in Pineland it is a sight to behold.  Supposedly the size of 4 regulation courts when the seating is back.  The court is 10 foot longer than the old court and was told that it is the largest in the region.  Seating is phenominal, individually padded seats on both sides.  Extremely nice artwork on the walls.  Amazing for 1A or any level for that matter.
11. Not trying to take anything away from Broaddus, they have a good team and a good coach, but IMO West Sabine should have won by 20.  The tigers have not shot so poorly all season.  I believe that this was a good game for the Tigers in terms of being a "wake up call".
12. Sorry, I forgot to mention that this game will be played tonight in Teneha for the Teneha tourny championship.
13. Good game or blowout by Kountze?  I'm not too knowledgeable about Kountze (transitioning from football to basketball is always hard for me) but I do know that West Sabine is good and in my mind has been overlooked my many.  Thoughts?
14. West Sabine 33 Hemphill 12..... West Sabine's district had better be prepared to play some football.  The Tigers are the real deal!!!
15. Hemphill may have a long night against Garrison this Friday but I can tell you one thing, Hemphill has the BEST freshman football player you may ever see at the varsity level.  He is a RB and is a beast!!!  This kid is fast and strong.  Watch for Hemphill to get some serious looks in the next few years.
16. West Sabine will be the dark horse in this district.  They are returning all skill position players.  Look for a very quick team with a serious threat from the passing game.  WS could win this district, only Lovelady could stand in thier way.
17. Not sure of the score but Hemphill won game 2.
18. Sabine Pass wins game 2 14-5  WS pitching was struggling, walking and balking runs in to the plate........ Game 3 in progress West Sabine up 4-1 top of the 5th
19. One of the best ideas that TP&W has had in a long time. It really excites me to see TP&W doing all that they are for hunting by setting a deer management plan, that although may not be the best management plan in the world, it is MUCH better than what was in place before. Now, TP&W is trying to "recruit" new hunters, and even taking that extra step to make sure that they are trained to hunt properly/ethically!! WOW, my hat goes off to TP&W!!!! I would help TP&W out with the mentor program, if for nothing else, to show my support to TP&W for all that they are doing and to pay them back for making the outdoors a better place for me.
20. 23-AA wins 5 of these 7 with only Kountze and Hardin coming away with the wins for 24-AA.... ;D Just kidding with you 24-AA guys... No doubt both districts are very well represented with powerhouse teams!!!
21. Don't get me wrong BucFan, I am not taking ANYTHING away from a really good EC team (a team that I hold in a very high respect). You guys questioned whether or not 24-AA or 23-AA was the tougher district. I personally think that 23-AA top to bottom is the tougher district (maybe the toughest district in all of East Texas top to bottom). EC has the ability to beat most of the teams in this district but IMO I do not believe that they can beat Newton nor Corrigan Camden. Notice that I am giving you guys full credit for being the better team over my Hemphill Hornets. For the past several years you guys have had Hemphills number in the playoffs.
22. You may be right, but if I were a betting man, my money says that both Newton and Corrigan Camden would take EC to the woodshed.....
