@stinger 6 wins in bout 30+games vs sa. thats 1 win every 7 years, like they say on ESPN cmon man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! even beat yall the year yall went to state semifinals.
I'm more of a "living in the present" type person, though.  And presently, I think the Wolves lose two district games this year, one this Friday night and one when the Hornets travel to SA.  That being said I am proud of the direction that both the Hornets and Wolves are headed in, both coaches seem to be turning the programs around and I predict that both will be really good for the next few years, maybe more.  I wish both teams well.
I am surprised that you even know what a defense is; being that you have not seen one all season!  Any way, SA needs to come out fired up, and not flat like they did last week.  This game is in SA, I see them taking it in a close win!
Wow, you never cease to amaze me, wearing that monumental sized chip on your shoulder, I can't even give SA credit without you doing the gum bump about teams that are not even involved in this thread.  Come on Sally, lighten up...lol
 3. Who takes this one.........  Will be a tough test for the Wolves and thier "stellar" defense....  Can't wait until Friday night!
 4. Hemphill 64 New Waverly 28 Too much offense from Hemphill, defense is improving also........
 5. With 4 games under his belt Hemphill's sophomore QB Justin Twine is just under 1,400 yards on the season at 1,363.....  Averaging 340 on the ground per game.  Unbelievable!!!
 6.
I got to see him up close and personal at the West Sabine game, and he is a full grown man in a 15 year old's body. Think he has close to or over 1,000 yards already in 4 games. A Bo Jackson-type athlete in my opinion. Body of a fullback and sprinter's speed. I'm originally from West Sabine but this kid is a special talent that still has growing to do. Just hope he stays healthy.
He's well over 1,000 yards in 4 games and being the mathematician that you are I'll tell you that in 4 games he is averaging 340 yards per game rushing....
 7. Well he is now (at halftime of the Buna game) at 1,161 rushing yards in 4 games...  233 yards in the first half tonight
 8. Justin Twine has 233 rushing yards at the end of the half...
 9.
blowout city i still think hemphill will be 4th in district no defense!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Yeah, however thinking wasn't always one of your strongest quallities......ZING!!!! lol
 10.
As a longtime sportswriter I have seen a lot of high school football. One of my favorite kids to watch was Jeff Spikes in Burkeville. He ran for more than 3,000 yards in 1994. Won the Willie Ray Smith Award that year, I believe. They would run a misdirection out of a wishbone and before you could find him, he'd be gone. Thing is ... he only played the first half of most games he was in ... which showed the coach had some class and some caring for the health of his athletes.
I played against Jeff Spikes and he was a BEAST but this Twine kid is better and only in the 10th grade.  I'm not from Hemphill just stating what I have seen from him, as a sportswriter you should go check him out.
 11.
Not hard to do when you rush with the qb 30-40 times a game.
He rushed for only 21 times in the game against WS and I am pretty sure he rushed 18-20 times against Joaquin.  He's not getting 30-40 opportunities.
 12.

geeezzz...what's he gunna be like as a senior?...wow ;D
I'm thinking he might be at another school when he's a senior.
Absolutely no need for him to be at another school.  As a sophomore he is already garnering enough attention to get AND is getting the attention of D1 schools.  He's already recieved letters from several BIG D1 schools.
 13.

obviously gray's yard are more respectable... he is a runningback playing 5A football... are this QB's yard from scrambling or designed running plays??? how good was that team they beat scoring 77? they are like 3A right?
Aledo is 4A
My bad, I retract that part of the statement and insert 4a.
 14.
no disrespect to hemphill but twines are good, but dont think the rest of the team will have a chance agaisnt buna.
You're probably right but he will break one or two.
 15.

obviously gray's yard are more respectable... he is a runningback playing 5A football... are this QB's yard from scrambling or designed running plays??? how good was that team they beat scoring 77? they are like 3A right?
What A your school is has nothing to do with respect for a young Kid in a small town school should have the same respect given if you are in your high and mighty big time stadiums as we are playing up here in the woods..Respect is earned not given... I congratulate the young man.. ;)
Amen, I agree.
It would also make sense to state that Aledo's line is probably MUCH better than Hemphill's thus helping pave the way for Gray, however I am not taking ANYTHING away from Gray he is a phenomal athlete who just broke the all time career TD record.  Ninety percent of the plays that Twine rushes on are designed plays.  Joaquin was sending 3 defensive players after Justin Twine each snap and he still had over 200yards rushing, while his brother that plays RB also had over 200.  If you stick 3 on Justin you're opening the door for his brother Jordan.
 16. After only 3 regular season games Hemphill Sophomore QB Justin Twine is at 928 rushing yards on the season.  What is the single season rushing record for a QB in the state of Texas?
 17.
SA is WS last thing to worry about. Say what you want, but if it's not a district game, SOOO What!!! Anyway, WS is a 1A school whose been kicking some butt against bigger schools. Yea, Twine did his thing, but he could have been stopped! I know Garrison shut him down the week before, so I don't want to hear that crap. WS has work to do on defense, but SA has work to do alltogether. We're not worried about anybody this year.....and yea I know nobody's talking about Lacey's stats from WS, but they were just as good as Twine's. Check them out!!!
First of all compared to the yards WS allowed Twine then yes I guess you could say that Garrison shut him down by holding him to 187 yards, secondly Lacey was no where near close to having the yards Twine did.  Lacey had less than 200 rushing yards while Twine had 534.
 18. regardless of what he does against buna, when watching him just remember he is a sophmore
 19.
I don't remember the last time one player ran for 200 yards against Buna, neither Albiton or Trevor Bell could do it, from what iv seen from this kid is speed when we have speed with Burch and speed and power with Williams, if i remember right we played this kid last year and i know he will be better this year but i don't see him living up to all the hype as the season goes on.All im saying is if he comes into Buna and runs all over one of the most physical teams in the area then I'll buy into the hype but until then we'll be seeing y'all the 16th
I'm not "y'all", not from Hemphill, and you will see.  If I'm wrong I'll be the first to admit it but I am not wrong, just hard headed.
 20.

This is gonna be a tough one for SA.  I think it will be Alto by 18 or so by the end of the game, however I am rooting for SA and look forward to them getting back to thier winning ways.  Go Wolves!
With the team I saw last week, it would be impossible that Alto has that many points against SA.  I also hear that Alto is not as great as they were last year.  I guess we shall see.
Don't let it get the Wolves down, they are in a rebuilding, strike that, a turn around year and will only get better under the direction of Hubbard with each game.  I see another big scoring game coming next week when the Wolves go to Pineland to face the West Sabine Tigers.  The Tigers are gonna score plenty of points but they will NOT be able to stop the Wolves offense.  Whoever scores first wins.
 21. What did you expect, the kid is a phenom.  Keep it up Ford! Great to see a East Texas boy doing well at the next level.
 22. I don't believe that Hemphill will beat Buna, the Hornet defense is weak or should I say very young and Buna will be able to score at will, however Justin Twine will have over 200yds in that game.  You can go ahead and mark that down in your book.  Kid is unbelievable on the field and even a better kid off the field, very respectable.  He has right at 700 yards (a little over I thnk) in two games and he is a sophmore.
