  1. When I asked him about his offensive gameplan, he said that he will have multiple formations. That alone should make you Injuns happy. Seems to be a real nice guy. I wish him luck, except against us and Central.
  2. Sounds like it was a heckuvah game. Wish I could have been there. Hard for me to get to games during the week though.
  3. I agree on both points. (Ummm, just a thought, but shouldn't this be in the college football forum? ??? )
  4. BmtSoulja1 and I discussed Ozen's coach possibly leaving last night and, man, if Stump does decide to make a move BISD is really gonna get caught with its pants down this spring. And with Central's offensive coordinator putting his hat in the ring for the LC-M job, I just don't know what is going to happen on the bountiful side of the Neches. I wish Stowers good luck though. He is a very classy guy and did wonders with the program over there. I hope everything works out for him.
  5. Well, if that's the case, it's a good thing the applicant list got released. Now LH will know he is putting his hat in the ring for another job. Just think, if the list had never been released he wouldn't have had a bargaining chip. ;D ;D ;D
  6. I remember days of Vidor winning and being buried on page two or three. But if we got creamed and did terrible it would be on the front pages making the other team look like a jauggarnaut...I wonder how PN-G will fare this coming season after the media got the shaft from the district?
  7. Naw, not Stern. We'd have to have some strippers and porn stars involved for this to be Stern-esque. Or at least Eric the Midget getting ripped on by Artie. ;D
  8. Not something I would be that particularly fond of if I was you. Dallas has been a joke since 1996.
  9. The list was sent out, but with all 35 names blacked out in magic marker. So, in essence they still did not release the names. Which is pretty stupid, as that is the same as giving away evidence of breaking the FOI Act for anyone who wanted to pursue further political action.
  10. prove it. Show me facts. Your board thinking that they are above the law is a pretty good indicator. And of course you and every other PN-G grad/fan wants us to stop posting about this so that the whole issue of the applicant list will go away. Why? Because it is showing the rest of the Southeast Texas area how truly ignorant your school board members are to the laws of the state. That's not purple pride on your face -- that's just a deep red of embarassment.
  11. Thanks. But if someone was let go without being told why, they can still file suit against the company for wrongful termination, right? It may be legal, but it doesn't seem to me that the company would want the immediate court costs. Especially in this sue-happy day and time. Was in HR as well.......Texas is a right-to-work state. This means that under the Texas Labor Code, a person cannot be denied employment because of membership or non-membership in a labor union or other labor organization. Texas is an at-will state, an employer can fire an employee with or without cause. The only exception would be if you are fired for an illegal reason. (Because of your gender, religion, political affiliation, age, etc). Most companies follow policies that are fair so that someone is not fired for an illegal reason. Thanks guys. As the kids on South Park would say: "You know, I've learned something today..."

  13. ;D Yea but if it was your school you would be the first to want to see the list. I would not if some had made it clear they might lose their job. I'm no lawyer, but I don't think that is lawful for any employer under labor law in Texas. But I could be wrong. Any law guru's out there that can shed some light on the subject?
  14. Hey BmtSoulja1, what do you think hapens to the Jags offense should this happen?
  15. coop, what about the person who typed it? They had to type it blindfolded. ;D
  16. If LC-M can release their list then PN-G has no excuse. Confidentiality indeed. : I bet some of the same names may be on PN-G's list that are on the LC-M list as well. I think most districts are not stupid to the fact that their district is not the best in the world and a coach may want to leave to better themselves in their career. If anything, they wouldn't tell the coach he was fired if he is a winning coach. They will probably offer him a raise in pay to keep him on. So don't give us this "morale" BS and try to talk down to us like PN-G is more careful in their decision making. Breaking the law is not a sound decision. Come on now, Injuns. Just pony up the names or face the LAWFUL consequences. Even the attorney general can't help you stop a FOI.
  17. True. Of course anything would have been better than the old gym. Even inside you felt like you were playing outside. Our new gym is pretty nice. I've always liked Bridge City's too.
  18. From what I have heard the plan is to do some improvements on the existing stadium this year, and then have a second phase of the bond in 6 or 7 years and build a new stadium at the high school, probably in the pasture between Canal and the practice fields. Yeah, a field there would make sense as well. You think the bond will pass?
  19. Even if we did become a passing team, we don't have the speed to compete with the fast corners and receivers like Central and Ozen have. Call me what you like, my fellow Vidor fans included, but I am a realist. I think we have a potential to make the playoffs and a slim possibility of a district championship down the road. But I don't see us ever in the state championship, as the playoffs are where the faster teams from around the state end up.
  20. Last season, we had some games where we never threw over 5 to 6 times. (Can't say all of them because I couldn't make them all due to my job.) While I would like to see more of an air attack, Mathews is going to stick to a bruising ground game and big guys opening holes. Whoever is placed in the QB slot will probably face the same amount of throws Teinert did. I would say a bigger deal would be if we didn't have a strong tailback coming back in '09. With Pittman back we should be able to function. We have never been a strong passing team so I guess I view it a little differently. For instance, the year that Roman Franklin was the QB/Kicker/Punter/Water Boy/Tackeling Dummy/etc... I would have rather us have snapped it directly to the tailback. (Don't get me wrong, Franklin was a good kid that was tough and durable for a lot of punishment, but he wasn't going to get any second looks as a QB.) As long as whoever comes in to play QB is able to make enough throws to open the running game, then Mathews will stick with the offense he has in place.
  21. Nederland will look to make improvements at Bulldog Stadium in their next bond election. (Field turf, stadium seating, new press box, and bathroom facilities.) But, to tell you the truth, with those two practice fields they have at the high school, plus a field for the band to practice on, I really don't know why they have had so much trouble through the years getting a stadium at the high school campus. The field right behind the performing arts center would make a great stadium area, there would be plenty of parking, etc ... I scratch my head at that all the time. As for a new stadium in Vidor? HA,HA,HA,HA! Let's see, my daughter is four now so maybe one day when I become a grandfather, some 20 to 25 years down the road, the voters in Vidor MIGHT pass a bond issue to build a new stadium. Yes, it looks about that bad. They say they support our kids, but if you look at the present fieldhouse and stadium then you know that they are all talk. They won't even vote on field turf. A whole new stadium? Again: HA,HA,HA,HA! They are content with stands and bathroom facilities that look like they were built in the 1980s down here in the swamp. (SIGH!)
  22. I agree, Skipper. Does anyone not agree with that? They finished with 3 district wins and like 18 returning starters as long as they go as hard as vidor always does. oh and FIX THAT FUMBLING PROBLEM. that hurt them in several games Yeah, the turnovers do seem to always come at the wrong time. (Of course there is never really a "right time for a turnover now is there? ;D ) But yeah, if we keep the turnovers under control we should have a good ground game with Pittman coming back. Not sure how many are back on the O-line but those we do get back will have a season under their belt and hopefully play even better than last year. The problem I saw in some of the games is that the defense played too soft in the big games. PN-G game we played great and then against Nederland we looked like we had never got behind the line of scrimmage in our lives. If the D plays consistent to go with the offense, then yes, I believe we can get to the playoffs.
  23. He could always apply for the PN-G job! ;D If I was him I'd retire though. But I'm not him, so what do I know?
  24. I asked a ref about that one time and he said that the schools could never afford it. What I think is needed is one extra referee on the squad that can sit in the press box and see things the others can't, radioing the call down to the referee. All you would need is an in-ear monitor device like musicians use.
