  1. He is on the ground before the pick is made. I doubt it was acting. He is still looking for the ball while on his knees. Hands to the back that far from the line of scrimmage? If this was Lumberton vs. Central what would you say? Wrong is wrong, it doesn't matter what game it is. But, it is all in the past now and I'm not going to argue with you. It won't change anything. Up until then, we had the opportunity to go ahead despite playing like dookey in the first half. That is all I wanted to prove by putting the picture in here. That was the turning point of the game. Hopefully, we can at least slow Livingston down for whoever they play in the first round and our boys can finish with a winning season. That is all I'm cocerned about now. And, like I said earlier, Asa is the one that Lumberton better be looking at for next week. Kid is an athlete and has my utmost respect. I think it is great that he wants to play college ball at home.
  2. "Varsity Blues" -- first "Rudy" -- second "Any Given Sunday" -- third The rest of a lot of those mentioned follow all of these in my book.
  3. Watch the replay on Cable this Tuesday. It wasn't a hard shove, but it was in the back and should have been called. Again, coulda, shoulda, woulda. I agree, Conn's momentum probably took him down. They were both running like bats out of ... well, you know. ;D Vidor lost because we didn't play hard enough in the first half and you guys capitalized. I'm not making an excuse for that. I'm just showing that we were still in it despite our mistakes. I'm proud of our boys this year.
  4. Teinert is graduating this year... Well, maybe Teinert could just play defense and we could get a look at next year's arm? Who will be filling Teinert's QB position? Anyone know?
  5. My bad. I said that Laramore was pushed. It was actually Conn, and it was on the one yard line. Just looked at the pictures today. Regardless, Vidor should have buckled down and stopped that last run by Grogan instead of just giving up. If they could have gotten a fumble or something momentum might have swung back their way. Again, coulda, shoulda, woulda, but it was like they just quit after not getting that call. I was disappointed too, but you can't depend on a call to win a game. You gotta play hard. Vidor not playing hard in the first half is the real reason we lost and Nederland is once again in the playoffs. We're getting better, but we have to play four full quarters. Good luck in the first round guys. Now that the spots have been decided, I'll be rooting for all GT teams. GO JAGS, BIG NED, AND L-TRAIN!
  6. Hats off to the Bulldogs. You really scrapped and outlasted us. Our defense played like crap in the first half, nowhere near what they have been doing all year. Oh well, we should have defended the pass better instead of seemingly always keying on the run. But, that is all coulda, shoulda, woulda. Cardenas has my utmost respect, although he did already, as he is really the heart of your team. Grogan is good, but Asa is your real go-to guy. (Lumberton, consider this a warning about Asa. ;D ) Only non-call that hurt us was the non-call of pass interference on James Laramore that allowed the interception in the fourth. We all know that was pass interference since he nearly shoved Laramore into another county. Should have been our inside the 10. Again coulda, shoulda, woulda. Grogan's big run came right after that took all the wind out of the boys sails. Too bad a player can't talk back to the ref. Laramore was robbed and the refs knew it. They tried to make up for it by calling you guys the next time the Bulldogs hit our receivers early, but the damage was already done. Other than that though, I thought it was a great game all around between two very well balanced teams. Just wish we could have come out on top. We did not play to our full potential on defense and that is the main and biggest reason we lost, although we gave Grogan headaches the rest of the night, like I knew we would, besides that one big run. But I was wrong about Ronning. Not one hit behind the line. I guess he did lay down and die. Tsk, tsk. Our offense wasn't having that much trouble against you guys, just like I knew they wouldn't. Although, they did look better against us then they did against Livingston. Bulldog defense looked like poop in that one. On the brighter side, it was good to finally see Rico out there at linebacker. Kid has been injured since the scrimmages, I believe. Nice to see him making some tackles out there. Hopefully his senior year will fare better than his junior.
  7. Well, I'll let the boys decide how they play defense on the field tonight. Words on here don't mean anything between the lines on Friday nights, so I'll quit trying to tell people about our defense. If we play to our potential on both sides of the ball, this should be a very good game. And maybe you'll get the chance to see for yourself what I've been saying. I sure hope that you do get to see them at their best.
  8. If Vidor hits better than WOS did in our 1st game, I'll tip my hat. I think he means in district play, although Central is pretty hard-hitting as well. We may not be the hardest hitting, but I'd venture to say we are probably one of the hardest-hitting. Our defense is almost as good as it was when Coach Hatch was there. But they have the potential if they play to it.
  9. I'm a homer, so I'm pulling for my Pirates. But I second NDNWarrior in saying best of luck to both, especially in the way of injuries. Hopefully both teams come out of this with everyone able to play next Friday.
  10. Good!!!!!!! I just hope that some of our boys on defense have been coming on here as well to read how we "don't have any athletes to stop Nederland's offense." I hope they read those posts and get just as ticked off as I have. > Thing is, they get to hit people and I don't. ;D I for one hope they prove you all wrong.
  11. Well, I could spend an hour on this but I won't. I've said enough already. I'm gonna quit pointing out facts about our defense and our offense since Nederland folks are never going to take them serious, obviously. I hope the Bulldogs come in thinking our team is crap too. Feel free to boost your confidence all you want. ;D I bet your coaches are seeing us from the proper perspective on film though. But hey, maybe not. If they just got the LC-M film, they don't know half of what we are capable of. Whereas if we got the Livingston film, our coaches are going to see almost everything you've got... It will be a very good game. But I really like our chances. And I'll leave it at that.
  12. Have you seen Nederland play? I have. The L-Train should have no problem with that defense. Don't sell yourself short. Geez!
  13. I think that the Nederland game will be a toss-up, so I'm not going to "jinx" my boys. LOL! Now for the rest: L-Train lays track through Bear cave Jaguars officially replace Lions as Kings of the Jungle (sorry Coach! LOL! ) Panthers slash up tepees as new hobby Mustangs shake Hawks like a hunting dog shakes a dead possum
  14. Someone said that Palin probably knows more about football than the other three. I'd have to agree. For basketball though, I'd say Obama would make the best coach, and baseball is slow enough for McCain or Biden to manage.
  15. Still no love for our defense, huh? I guess Nederland will be the first unstoppable offense we've played this year... Alright, I agree with your Nederland assessment. I'll keep that the same. For Nederland to win: 1. Control time of possession 2. Run Grogan and run him often, itll open up the passing game (Big Ned needs more play action!) 3. Defense must make at least a few plays, most notably on 3rd down 4. Nederland's offense must also be Nederland's Defense Now for the changes (just a couple): For Vidor to win: 1. Keep the ball away from Nederland (good) 2. Avoid dumb penalities and turnovers (good) 3. Play hard-hitting defense the same way we have been all year getting behind the line and sacking the QB to shut down the passing game 4. Hit Grogan in the legs at the line of scrimmage
  16. Oh, good. Then we are on the same page then. LOL! I got a hunch as to who the legend is ... and I bet it's the same as your hunch too. ;D
  17. Soulja...Does something about this seem vaguely familiar?? Say it's not so... :D Maybe I'm wrong...the spelling is good, punctuation is being used and sentence structure is decent..LOL. ;D Could it be? I know I had to change my screenname to get on this site for some odd reason. Could be possible... ;D LMAO how did ya know we were referring to you Cutlass?? ;D (j/k) Actually ...n/m it's a long story!!! Actually, I didn't know. I thought you guys were talking about "The Legend." LOL!

  19. Well, two of Ozen's scores came from turnovers by us near their endzone, giving them short yardage for a score. Even a team like Ozen can drive 20 to 25 yards. In the second half, when they were having to drive an entire field, they were easily frustrated on offense and were not dominant at all. Ozen won with defense (causing turnovers), and captalizing on short yardage which any fairly decent team should be able to do. Not because of any offensive prowress that just blew our minds or anything. Like I said before, I'm not going to name a score. This is anyone's ballgame. I'll just pull for our boys to come out on top.
  20. How about Asa Cardenas, Jude Vidrine, Ryan Brady, and Brent Salenga just to name a few... if Vidor lets them get open, watch out.... Yeah, I was very impressed with Cardenas and Vidrine came up big late in the game. Very good players. That being said, can I assume that you mean Nederland would more than likely rely on a passing game? That is what I'm gathering... They would replace Grogan with a Jr. by the name of Grant Lovelady, not as big but just as strong and faster....Plays linebacker, might see him anyway if Grogan plays some defense Friday night!!!! ;D ;D ;D Thanks James. From what I've seen from most other posters, Nederland didn't have anyone waiting in the wings if they lost Groban. Good to know.
  21. I see Lumberton rolling through their last two games with big scores.

  23. Let me ask this. (No ill-will intended for anyone, understand. Just for the sake of debate.) Say Grogan got hurt on the first play from scrimmage and had to sit out the rest of the game. Now what do you do? If Reynolds went down (again, God-forbid on both) we would just put Peevy in and continue as normal. Our run game would still function. But would Nederland's? Grogan is big, but he can be stopped. And the way he has to be stopped (three or more piling on every time) can lead to injuries. Who takes Grogan's place if he went down? Or can just an air game cut it in 20-4A? I'm just bringing this up not because I want anyone hurt, but just to see what you think Nederland could do without Grogan. Vidor's run game would continue in regular fashion. Remember when we beat them last, Micah hurt his ankle and had to sit some in the third. And Nederland went totally flat. They didn't score again until Micah came back and played hurt in the fourth. (Dude was a beast, much respect to Mosley.) Again, just to reinterate to all the people who only look for the negative, I don't wish injury on Grogan or anyone else. I want us to beat Nederland with them bringing their "A" game. This is just for debate purposes ONLY.
  24. : Oh ... my ... gawd ... Has it really come to this low?
