I will say this # 78 for LC will even get more attention when he is not restricted to what he can do because of weight restrictions. Could you imagine having to tackle that guy.
-
Most of those players you listed play both ways and they perform at a high level on both sides of the ball. I can't wait to see these kids as they grow-up.
-
The coaching staff if they lose a game. ;D I kid I kid ;D WOS has an excellent winning tradition plus have great coaches and players. They will continue to have success for years to come.

BREAKING NEWS....Just talked to my buddy who's son plays for BMT-G and he says #3, 11, 23, and 7 are all out for the rest of the year do to emotional distress from all the hard hits they took last week.
I had heard from a buddy who heard it from his wife's hair dresser so you know it is true. That each of the players are reporting they are suffering from writters cramps and eye strains having to post and read how big and bad they are. JK I don't think kids at that age act as bad as us adults. -

C.O. Wilson. 43
Groves. 18
Yea C.O. won with real class! They were up 35-18 with less than 30 sec left in the game, on their own 20yd line and threw pass down the sideline for a TD. Boy that's a way to show our kids how to act!
IF the pass would have been intercepted and returned for a touchdown convert the 2pt PAT and you have the makings of a wild finish.
If CO.Wilson would have ran a straight dive play up the middle and broke it for 80 yards and scored would the loss been any different?
At this age I would think I would rather have a team trying to pass if my team is 17 points down.
1. it stops the clock on incompletes
2. completion avg has to be low at this age.
3. gives my team a better chance of a turnover.
Not defending any coach or team just giving my opinion on what I would want if I was behind and still was trying to win. -

2011 NYFA PINK OUT IS APPROACHING!!
ALL MONEY FOR SPONSORSHIPS AND T-SHIRTS IS DUE TO YOUR TEAM MOM NO LATER THAN MONDAY SEPTEMBER 26!!
Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, our Junior Bulldogs will be hosting our 2nd Annual Pink Out game day at our game fields for all of our home games on Saturday October 8, 2011.
The Pink Out was a great success last year and our teams will battle it out again to see who can raise the most money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation by gathering Pink Out sponsorships that will be listed on the back of our official Pink... Out t-shirts! T-shirt orders and sponsorships will be taken from Monday September 19 to Monday September 26! The team that collects the most donations for sponsorships will be given $200.00 toward their end of season party by the NYFA Board!!
100% of the proceeds for sponsorships will be directly donated to the Susan G. Komen For the Cure Foundation on behalf of NYFA! T-shirts are $15.00 each (add 1.00 for each X over 2X) and sponsorships are $20.00 each. Sponsorships can be your name, your business name, or you may honor a loved one who has battled, survived, or lost their fight for breast cancer. T-shirt artwork will be posted in the next few days!
Our goal is to donate $1,000.00 on behalf of our Junior Bulldogs in an effort to help support breast cancer research! We encourage all players, coaches and fans to participate by bringing their pink! Pink clothing, pink accessories, and pink creativity are encouraged by the Board, and all participants and their families can place their vote for the best Pink Out team by paying $1.00 per vote (which will also be donated) at the game fields October 8. The team that wins the most votes this day will be given $100.00 from the NYFA Board toward their end of season party. All teams are eligible to win both contests!!
Let's come together as a community and raise money for this wonderful cause!! All participants last year had a blast and raised a lot of money and this year we are looking for it to be bigger and better!! Even if you are unable to attend, please share our event with all of your friends!!
Detect, Fight, WIN!!!
To order a T-shirt or to make a donation please download the forms below and return it to one of our teams, or at our game fields Saturday September 24 at the concession stand between 8am and 6pm!! Thanks for your support!!

I guess I'm the only one that goes to the Wal-Mart in Vidor... :'(
No ... we have all seen the pictures -
Heck they all are capable... Just very very few do. Maybe after the season you too could have a rematch. For those of us that missed the game.
-
You betcha.
Like my old coach use to say winning is not everything... but it is the most important thing.
Or play for the fun of it but only winning is fun. Just kidding I hope all kids get more out of playing football then X's and O's. As a parent and coach I hope to show that. -
Last year we had a player that had stikers he wore on his helmet with names of family members he wanted to remember.

I took numbers from school digger, and had to divide overall of the campus. Like I said the numbers may be off a little, but not too much. PAISD numbers continue to decline.
OK I looked at the school digger site and they only list 2 of the 3 middle schools Eddison and Austin listed in PA so I am sure that is why your numbers looked low.
http://www.city-data.com/school/lincoln-middle-school3-tx.html#Attendance09
So it looks like you could add another 218 kids to that list. so maybe around 670 6th graders boys and girls.
Good discussion I like it. -
I had no idea boys would be that interested in wearing pink. I love it. After last year we had to place some restrictions to what players could do to the association issued equipment. Several helmets were permanently marked with pink.

From the STJFL by-laws
Article 4 sub-part j line 2 “Any and all teams that can score 50 or more points on any West Orange Stark team will not be play-off eligible.â€

Ok guys I did a little research. I did it by 6th graders, who would be senior tackle because that was easiest to get numbers as close as possible. What I did was get enrollment figures from what campus had a 6th grade and then divided the number of grades by total campus population and came up with the figures. It's not exact, but might show the difference. These numbers are boys and girls. Here it goes:
1. Nederland 544 kids (CO Wilson, Central)
2. Port Arthur 454 (TJMS,Lincoln MS)
3. Beaumont 437 (Vincent, Marshall)
4. Vidor 365
5. PNG 338 (PN MS, Groves MS)
6. Lumberton 302
7. Bridge City 194
8. WOS 177
9. Little Cypress 170
10.Orangefield 135
11. Kountze 104
Now they could let Beaumont have the North End with (Austin MS, MLK, Smith 443 kids) have a team and then the South End (Odom,South Park 387 kids) have a team. That should be done to let everyone play. JMHO
It is very hard to get some clear numbers for some of the schools but now way PA has 100 less number of 6th graders than Nederland. I think you may have left out some numbers from their 3 middle school Austin, Edison, Lincoln.

I agree teams like WOS and Lumberton who only have around 1,000 kids from 1st-8th grade have only about a third of the kids that PA has available, and have done very well over the years. I just find it odd that the STJFL placed restrictions on Bmt. that limited them to XXXX number of kids and not PA. Now if that restricted number for Bmt is the same as the potential numbers for PA then great. BUT i just don't think that was taken into consideration when PA granted admission to the STJFL. HEY I know that it only takes 20 or so to have a team and if don properly everything works out.
-
Just throwing this out there. If my numbers are correct (chances are they may be off) WOS with #4 has given up 2010 Jr. 28 pts, 2009 Jr.White 6 pts., 2008 Pee Wee 41 pts. in each of the regular seasons. So scoring 50 pts in a game is HUGE. Hats off to PA. ALL of those kids played hard. I bet it was a great game. There again I love them all.
-
Looks about right. But I think there may be 4 or 5 others that could beat several on that list.

Still no comparison P.a has more than one league u can play in with 3 different teams..........Png has one team one league ALL Kids play in ......btw you miss counted on number of schools in p.a .......png 1 high school....p.a 1 high school....bmt 3 high schools, public that is !!!!
So I guess the answer is PA has no restrictions then right. Not that it makes a difference here on a messageboard but you have to admit teams that have more kids to draw from have a advantage. If Bmt is limited to (someone please fill in the blank) and that limitation is a say 3,500 kids than why would you say there is no comparison to PA. By the way unless we have high school kids playing on any of the teams I did not include any of those enrollment numbers. -
Compared to say Port Neches
6 Elementary Schools = 2199
2 Middle Schools = 1087
About half of what PA may or may not be drawing from.
