The offense is the problem this year, not the defense.

Defense is giving up an average of 22 points a game which is not great but not terrible. The offense only averages 13 points a game. With the skill set this team has, they should score 13 points in their sleep. Line play and QB play has to be the issue or it's a scheme issue or both.

I don't see United defense allowing any team to score 50 or more points on them. So these predictions seem way over the top.

I agree,  the defense will probably be tops in the district when its all said and done! In 3 games with the new DC they are only giving up 14 points a game on the avg. 14 Sterling, 7 ball and 21 Friendswood.  Friendswood scored late in the game so it should have been 14 points.

  2. PSA, word on the street is G is coming back! He does not have all of the resources to be successful. He's complaining about tutorials, kids and lack of coaches so that's why his game management skills suck!! He has the same issues all coaches have but they wasn't 0-30 and received an interview and got the job. SMH

G has blamed everyone but himself!! Fired his DC during the bye week and had a different person calling plays on Friday. The defense is much improved since than. I dont care who call plays The O Line is not good but the head coach supposedly is an O Lineman by trade!! He was supposedly a OL coach at Duncanville. LOL

Complaining on this site isnt going to stop the kids at BU from getting let down by the system, most of the kids on this team need sports to get into college and coaches do not come to a school where a coach has a 5-42 record!! I just wish for the best for the younger classes because its absolutely embarrassing to see this team on Fridays play. Counting down my time!!!

It’s likely just going to add complexity to a snapper/center, and even if you practice game time execution versus practice execution.

it’s a choice do you spend time on QB/C snapping the ball in a corner for 10 minutes a practice for one play or do you have the QB throw 20 more routes, or the center get 20 more shotgun snaps.

everything is an opportunity cost because you have practice time limits.

Its called pre practice or after practice!! coaches must be willing to put in a lil extra time for success.

    @bmtqj33 and @Yeoj , THIS loss wasn’t on the coaches…

So when a kid has a pick six its not the coaches? I know i see the secondary coaches going over how to block or not block on a pick. Every aspect of a game comes down to the coach whether its the position coach or the HC!! their teenagers that want direction and want to be coached up. BU had 2-3 players out in the secondary but they accounted for 12 points on a pick and a short field. I know they got toasted near the end of the game but they were coached up in just one day of prep wk since we think its ok to take a 2 hr trip on a Thursday. I can just speak on mine, the DB and safety coaches has developed mine and will continue bc he has built a lifetime relationship with them. They both played at a high level in college so i know he will need some advice from them!!  COACHES must be held accountable!!

It seems like a lot of Football coaches leave that school district.  Does it happen in other sports or just football?

Not at all, BU basketball team just won state and has a coach in waiting that has a proven track record not 0-33!!!

The other auxiliary sports at BU suck besides track!! Football coaches coaching other sports just for stipends no concern for winning at all. Its not the coaches fault they making money!!!

Well I’ve been quiet to long!!!!!

Anyone that knows me know I’m a supporter of the school in the pear-orchard. First off How a 0-30 coach even get a phone call let alone an Application(Mr. AD) second/ I’ve been supporting this school for over 20 years and I’m trying to figure out why the same assistant coaches are being recycled!!! Don’t get me wrong not all but they know who they are. And they know who I am!! It’s a shame that these kids have to go threw this year after year. I know coaches don’t play one down but at least put the kids in the position to be successful!!!

As for the (AD) you knew this man was not the person for the head coach position based off his résumé!!! There for You need to explain your reasons for the pick!! And if you didn’t know he showed you a 5-5 season last year he tried to leave for a New head coaching position in the same District (how dumb)!!

And at the end of the day our team is going to Reflect The head coach!!!

I support kids and that will never stop!!! The reasons the for recycling assistant coaches is that BISD signs two different contracts unlike most districts. Meaning if you quit coaching football you just lose that stipend but you can continue to teach your sped, pe or health class. Most of those positions are coaching spots in other districts. Most districts do not put an asst head coach in the classroom nor the coordinators in a classroom so they can have ample time to prepare but BISD does not do that. So with that said, you cant run off an asst  if hes doing a good job in the classroom and you cant bring a new one in if there is no spot for him to teach!! Trust me the recycled asst coaches is not the problem!!! They can only do what they are told and be held accountable for what the are told to be accountable for. If HC doesn't run a tight ship its on him. You cant recruit new coaches via twitter and Facebook!! Middle school feeder school had 12 kids on the team last week and the best kid out of the 12 not coming to BU!!! Just saying

And let it be known in this loss, we can't blame the coaches.  Our players unfortunately fouled this one up...  Center snaps high, players fumbling at inopportune times.  Players not staying inbounds when you're trying to milk the clock.  Dumb holding calls at inopportune times...  No wait.  We did habe a delay of game penalty on our last drive.  Not sure if that was on the players or coaches...  I'm just done at this point.

We have two weeks to correct the unfortunate mishaps of the players since it was their fault!! Hopefully they can have a players only meeting  and fix the issues or they can call up their pee wee coaches to help them out!!!😥

Agreed but with the one when they fumbled while running the clock that's on coaches QB should have been under center if I am not mistaken we were in shotgun, the little things

Not accustom to winning, so that wonderful coaching staff does not practice a victory formation!!! Just saying since i'm at 90% of the practices. Let me not jump the gun, they may practice that in the period!!!🤥

If you have your issues with the schemes/Gameplan then fine. Take it up with the coordinators/HC….but to lump every single coach into one category is unfair. How would you know the knowledge level/coaching ability of every coach without being up close in practice everyday. To me you just come off as someone who is unreasonable, spiteful, and messy. Female qualities.

You the one hiding behind that screen name! Like i said before you 5 2 and you can talk to me whenever coach noah!!

    This thread got interesting fast.

Well it did for awhile, everyone has their opinion about the coaching situation at BU. Like what was mentioned earlier in this thread, lets just play the hand that was dealt to BU. Personally its just sad that our kids have to deal with it, my son has no earthly idea that I'm a lil upset about the coaching situation. So i'm just going to sit and enjoy my son's last 3 months of high school and head on to DUKE in January to start a new chapter in his life. I just hope things change for the better at BU for the kids sake!!!

Jag86, it seems as if you know about coaching, you would be on the sideline. Talking about what should be done on a thread is probably much easier than actually being in the midst of the coaching arena. What does proper personnel to you mean “Coach”?  Also, I think it doesn’t matter where you come from, it’s where you’re at. Those coaches were hired undoubtedly because they know something about the sport they’re coaching. I’m sure you could do better though. These coaches are coming to practice everyday molding and guiding these kids. Spending day and night and even after hours trying to make sure these kids understand the game plan. They’re certainly not doing it for the paycheck. Those 3 “Outstanding Coaches” should apply for the job if they’re that “Outstanding”. Of course that’s only perception on your part. Additionally, what does a coaches height have to do with anything?  His football acumen and knowledge on defense would probably make you think twice. I’ll probably trust the coaches over someone who sits in the stands and find faults. Sports is a mini-life situation. A state championship in high school is not going to get these young me  a job or even make them better men. However, teaching teamwork, perseverance, consistency, trust, hard work, and resolve is going to make them better men. Winning is just and added bonus. Coaching is hard work. Being in the stands and pointing out what “you would do” is the easiest and most simplest thing to do. I encourage everyone to let the coaches coach, the players play, and the fans support. I also provided a link for those 3 “Outstanding” coaches who wants to coach and be on the sideline.

Actually i know a lot about coaching, well i think!! I was on a staff at central that went 4 rounds deep that lost to Ice Cream capital of the world!!!

One of the players is on the current coaching staff that should have been considered highly as the DC!!!

Went on to West Orange Stark and i just coached with a 2 or three legends: Bay (RIH), T and of the retired head coach!! While there we became the program with the highest winning percentage in the state of TEXAS. WOS still is the most winning program in the State!! Just Saying!!

Finally i was a PEE WEE Coach legend!!! LOL Thats Mr Rivers football resume. I was a  D1 baseball guy by trade but i had to attend every football coaching clinic to give my kids the best opportunity for success!!

My biggest attribute is: I LOVE THE KIDS!!!!
