  1. What does a particular school's performance have anything to do with my knowledge of "anything" for that matter ? For the record, I didn't attend this program, but my child does. And the reference to the particular coach "who is the all time winning'est coach in the history of SETX football, was from a different school, than the one pictured in my profile.
  2. I would think so, he's been in the college ranks on and off, for a while
  3. Congratulations Coach Breaux, great hire for Orangefield ISD.
  4. Is there an example of where this has worked out to the benefit of the kids, in relation to success in multiple sports, including football? I can't think of any programs who have had success at the lower levels with a "head coach" for football?
  5. Don't go with personality. The all time winning'est coach in all of southeast Texas is overwhelmingly hated by his (home) community and the majority of coaching staffs and general public despise him, due to a poor personality. But, if you care to win 4-5 games a year and everybody's happy, then go with personality. Ha!
  6. The real question is, why is this becoming a thing for smaller schools? Save the money and hire an AD who can handle, coordinate and facilitate the job duties required, or am I missing something? It seems the pay for these HC's without the AD title is on the lower side, so wouldn't that in turn reduce the amount of suitable candidates with aspiring dreams of becoming "the guy" to lead a program (where football matters)?
  7. 2018-2019 season, we all could agree that Bill Belichick was among the best of the best in the history of the sport. Had he retired at the end of the 2019 season, we would have crowned him as possibly the GOAT of coaches, right? Fast forward to 2023, his Patriots are 4-11 and since Tom Brady retired, he is 29-36 as a Head Coach. What changed? Did he change? Did his coaching philosophy change? Did his schemes, ability to adjust, ability to create change? No, he's literally the same coach he's been for nearly 50 years. You know what did change? Players. The one constant in all of sports that changes outcomes of games, seasons and careers, is a player(s). Tom made Bill. For a lot of HS coaches, there are communities with enough blood line and culture for "Toms" to make a coach look ELITE, sometimes for decades or better. And like Forrest Gump says "That's all I have to say about that "
  8. You're telling me Hardin varsity is in a tournament with their JV and these other 1a schools? This has to be a typo, right?
  9. So whats the truth here? Hemphill reassigned Stark, or both parties mutually parted ways, or Stark is packing his bags and moving on his own choice? I remember a few years ago, another school ran off Tod Stark, or was that the truth? Who knows anymore! Either way, he had a pretty good 3 seasons at the helm in Hemphill.
  10. When I hear the word spread, I think of one thing only.
  11. Any idea when OF board next meeting is, to announce the hire?
  12. When will Orangefield announce the hire of Brandon Prouse?
  13. Is that the only two offenses available to play in football anymore? Slot T or Spread? What about pistol, zone read RPO, power wing or power I, double Wing, run-n-shoot, 60/40 series, veer ? Are those obsolete?
  14. Prouse to Orangefield makes sense for both parties.
  15. Looks like Trinity stayed in 3A DII by 3 kids.
