Lamar (51) @ Beaumont West Brook (7) - FINAL
Coach_Izzy replied to jdawg03's topic in High School Football
Seriously asking…how does Ron Jackson still have a job as an AD with the hire’s he’s made for the football programs? Smh -
Well good thing I don't have to worrying about applying for a job, but with my resume I’m positive there isn’t a football program in the state of Texas that wouldn’t hire me. Carry on

Being a 6A school playing in arguably the toughest district in the state, please tell me what does Westbrook get out of playing a terrible 5A school? I honestly feel bad for what’s about to happen to WB in district play, there needs to be a purge of coaches & admin in BISD. No way football in Beaumont should be this bad.

BISD Memorial Stadium now will be.........

I've been saying this for over 10 years now. It is the only way Beaumont will ever have a chance of competing at a high level consistently, this along with a purge of the current admin. Having a successful football program starts from the top! BISD is 10 years behind most other programs especially when it comes to how to run a facilities, X's and O's & how to run a successful program overall. It still baffles me that there's no true feeder programs or athletic periods in middle schools. BISD is the ONLY schools in 21-6a that don't have 90 min athletic periods as well. Just sad man smh. -

Willie Ray Smith Finalists - Silsbee SWEEPS!
Coach_Izzy replied to AggiesAreWe's topic in High School Football
When did they start allowing underclassmen to get nominated for this award? If I remember correctly the year I was finalist, we were all seniors. This has to be new right? Even the Houston Touchdown Club only allows Seniors to be nominated. I’ll also add that this award lacks substance because the people voting more than likely has never seen most of the players play. Houston TD Club meets before the season starts to watch film on all the players who coaches nominate & make their selections. Then they meet several times during the season to watch film of recent games to either make cuts or move player to the next round of selections. They have a very strict criteria when it comes to their award & I think the WRS voters should take note & catch up with the times. But as far as who wins, my heart hopes it’s Davion but I’m biased cause I coached him. Realistically though, Drelon should win the offensive award with flying colors! -

I would take a look in Silsbee…

I can believe it, it’s a free for all in Dallas when it comes to recruiting. However I don’t think the UIL will do anything about it, it’s been going on for years. I believe the only reason the UIL started investigating them in the first place is because DV went around them to essentially get ruling on Anthony Black overturned.

I agree with everything you said except for this…DV will be a problem for as long as they want to be. The Dallas area has by far the best basketball talent in the state of Texas, it’s not close actually IMO. With DV being able to attract kids from all over Southwest Dallas & beyond, they’d still be a problem for Beaumont if we were to go to one public school because the talent comes in waves. For example next year will likely be a huge drop off for BU in terms of success & playoff run. However I’ve been saying Beaumont needs one school for over 10 years now & everyone on here called me crazy. That’s the only chance Beaumont has to compete at the 6A level consistently.

So if the parents lied & said a coach dog something he didn’t do, that doesn't matter? Got it… btw this wasn’t a punishment. Simple bootcamp that has been in place at Rockwall for years. If you actually knew the situation around the few kids that actually went to the hospital then you'd mostly agree with me. Like I said this situation was simply a few * kids that went ran to mommy. It’s a reason majority of the parents & players stood up for Coach Harrell

You actually believe some HS kids did 368 push ups in 60 mins? Common sense has nothing to do with a degree, you would think more than just 4 or 5 kids would’ve been hospitalized if that was the case right? Also you would think parents & players wouldn’t come to the defense of a coach who would put multiple kids in the hospital.
