  1. and mouthy lol... but yes it should be a good one.
  2. MC won today 13-0. Play tomorrow at 10am.
  3. He's not just a football asst coach. He coaches powerlifting and in the recent past he's done a hell of a job but I'm sure you could step in a do a better job.
  4. Not sure why you use the word argument when it's more of an opinion. I think 2-A-Days are very beneficial and I am a "back in the day guy" but I stay very up to date with what is being done in the summer (conditioning, weightlifting, coaching/practicing).
  5. I forgot to mention that 2 days are helpful for the body to get acclimated to wearing football equipment. It's the first real chance for offensive linemen to get on the field with QBs. Gives coaches a chance to see players after a summer of working out, 7on7, etc.
  6. Agree!... When I was in school mid-90s we had summer workouts (lifting and conditioning) and we worked. Luckily, I worked for the school during the summers and was able to get off for a couple hours to make summer workouts. During those couple of hours there was no running of plays, no talk about schemes, or anything else related to football. The only thing football related was "hey let's meet at the field and throw the ball a bit" and to say kids are out in the heat more than kids back in the 90s, 80s, 70s, etc... is crazy talk lol
  7. Haven't heard much. I'm sure once we get a little closer to practice, we'll the rumors will start flying lol
  8. Dude... go worry about snocone-gate and the other problems bc has.
  9. Pathetic... suit up and play. Playing to not get hurt or playing scared is how you get hurt.
  10. I'm guessing the pockets are deep at LCM from all those losing years 😆
  11. Winning stops... recruiting #'s drop
  12. Has to do something... that lightening in a bottle has just about run out.
  13. I know of 2 from the area that have sent the same message.
  14. Shouldn't have to motivate players. Motivation comes and goes. Either you want to, or you don't.
  15. You are correct, 20-19 at Vidor... can't remember if it was HC or not.
  16. Not necessarily rivalries but Vidor vs WOS in '96... Vidor won 21-19 (I believe that was the score) and Vidor vs Memorial from 6, 7, 8 years ago (Don't remember exactly when).
  17. Trahan has been a football coach at Vidor for awhile... I mean should there never be a first time offensive or defensive coordinator? Should a HC always have head coaching experience????
  18. Again... I did not single you out..."when people" not when oldschool. And most of those posters that do not support are still trying to live vicariously through their kids and have better football minds than some of the greatest coaches. I'm a Vidorian and always will be. I'm a supporter of every coach that coaches at Vidor and other schools. It's not an easy job. People expect perfection from coaches that coach kids/teenagers... kids/teenagers who can barely wipe their own... Does Vidor have the nicest/best of facilities... no... are they better than some... yes. Is Vidor a powerhouse no. Will Vidor be competing for a state championship this year, next year, year after that... no. Will Vidor compete for a playoff spot... yes... District Champions... maybe so. But at the end of the day, win, lose, or draw are the kids gaining something from the coaching? If so, then job well done!
  19. Did not say there are posters on here who have and have not been to games. Did not say my opinion is more valid or not, but when people start spouting off about things, they do not know about... facilities, equipment, new HC, etc.... then yeah, I'll voice my opinion which is more factual than an opinion. And those facts being that Vidor has new weights, weight racks, equipment, makeshift indoor practice area, a new football playing surface, new-ish gymnasium and.... a new HC that NO ONE has seen be the HC at Vidor before. Those posters that are forming an opinion, being disgruntle about a HC before he even steps on the field... they can go back to ripping heaters on the sidelines and being the little league coaching guru you were born to be. And for the others.... get out and watch a season or 2 then form your OWN conclusion.
  20. Tyner coached for sure last season and maybe the season before. I remember seeing him on 3rd when Kelly played Vidor a couple times.
