I'm sure those coaches and players at LH do not know how to run the slot-t. I mean that's where Mathews would go to learn about the offense.

I'm more of a see for myself then base a conclusion kind of a guy... and that conclusion will not be based off a game or 2 or 1 season. There's nothing but air and opportunity for people to get out and watch games and then form a conclusion. Thats kind of what's wrong with the world today. Too many outlets for people to vent, gossip, etc. and people take those rumors, complaints, statements as the gospel.

Good job basing your conclusion off the post of a few disgruntle fans. More than likely those disgruntle fans are little league coach heros, who scream at their TVs on Saturdays and Sundays during football season.

How many residents of Vidor has you talked to about the new HC... How many of those actually go to games/follow Vidor football...or are you going by the handful of posters on this site? Facilities have been up to date. This is not something new (except for the turf football field).

When was the last time you stepped foot in the weight room at Vidor? When was the last time you stepped foot on the new playing surface? When was the last time you stepped foot on the gym floor? Vidors weight room has new weights and weigh racks. Vidor is also able to use the weight room to practice indoors when weather is not cooperating thanks to the turf in the weight room.

Vidor with their new, old coach has a few key players coming back and Easy on the Pirates “always” beat the bears. I was on some lopsided defeats in the 90s by the hands of the bears… but it has felt good the past couple years! Lumberton has some key players coming back and should be DC favorites. Lcm lost some key players but should be able to stay in the race for DC. Livingston… 🤷🏼‍♂️

You are 1million% correct… playing schools like WB, North Shore, TJ, Baytowns (when they were good), LaPorte has ZERO to do a schools/HC’s record. It’s all about the senior class. 😂🤣

and don't leave out the fact that Vidor was in 22-5A in '94 & '95... playing against teams like North Shore, WB, etc. And does it matter if you win by 1 or 100??? NOPE a win is a win! Either way your point is about as sharp as a spoon.

20-4A in '96 & '97 football seasons. Same schedule and of course we lost seniors lol .... After the '96 football season Vidors HC Pat Murphy left for another coaching job in Monroe, LA (where he is from). After he left the incoming senior class wanted OC Paul Bourgeois to take over as HC (spoke at a school board meeting about wanting Coach Bourgeois as HC) but the school board decided to bring in Kevin Johnson from Lumberton (HORRIBLE Mistake). Johnson brought in his delinquent coaches and only kept a few from the previous regime. All the coaches that left or let go went on to have really good success.

'96 Vidor ran the option. HC was Pat Murphy and the OC was Paul Bourgeois (went 5-5). '97 Vidor ran whatever Johnson brought with him from Lumberton and the OC was Benny Ellison (went 2-8).

Robert Allen Deshazo... same guy. Vidor graduate... coached at lcm, bc, and now lumberton... Possibly somewhere else too.

So many qualified applicants on this message board, but I'm not seeing the names on the list of people who applied.... Oh thats right, cause air chair/bleacher coaching means absolutely NOTHING! Probably the same people that scream at the TV watching college and pro sports.
