Well here, Stangs & Tigers.  Guess up around Carthage they have the same problem.

how dare you Hagar. I have always thought you are a well spoken, football knowledgeable guy.  but no mention of DAWGS(Jasper) instead you list a type of cat. lol you booger you.

it's quite alright if you(or anyone) disagree with me.  I can't force anyone to be right. 🙃🙃

If this Cuney is anything like that other Cuney was; watch out world!!!  WOS, do you remember him?

he isn't the beast tiki was actually he has not even been a starter but when his name is called upon he gets the job done.

I apologize for getting off thread topic, but I love me some Jasper football . so please yall bear with me.

Tiki is now playing semi-pro ball for the Texas Colts. He has a twin brother named De' Anthony who was a damn good linebacker for Jasper.  their cousin is Terrelle Cuney who played center for the DAWGS and went on to the University of Texas. He is now the defensive coordinator at Burkeville highschool.

OK I am done now. ✔

He ran for almost 400 yds against us. A few yrs back at jasper.lots of confusion that nite on defense

that my friend was Montavien Hunt in 2018. His dad is Fred Hunt who played Qb against yall back in the 80s.

I assume j_dog is referring to the head hunter himself Terrance "Tiki" Cuney. A 5'10 225 lb beast. Yall got a taste of him in 2013 in the 3rd round. yall won 18-16 on a last minute pass. went on to play Carthage in 4th rd.  We jasper fans earlier that year watched him dominate Carthage. lol he was/is a big fella but he out ran #1 ranked Carthage defense 90 yards on one play for a td.

Wasn't doing that on purpose.  That story was on another et board also. I apologize for the confusion.

I also thought it was Carthage TX.

it was shared on Facebook and that where I saw it. lol I had even started a thread about it yesterday. Tyler in Carthage what is was called, the title probably had folks wondering what in the world was I talking about.

  5. Jasper has one of "youngest" teams that we fielded in quite some time. while I think they will come into their own as time goes on.  A game and a half under the Friday night lights going into the 5th game of the season is not the ideal situation for getting kinks worked. Coach usually does a good job getting kids put in position that best suites them, he just having to go it at an accelerated pace.

Defensively the DAWGS are ahead of the offense thus far I think. We have 2 or 3 sophomore players on defense that are gonna be alot of fun to watch as they grow and mature playing at the Varsity level.  On offense no we don't have a Carl Limbrick but we have some young men that have some fast turning wheels.  you will see Jasper throw the ball more than you have in a long  time.

for me personally I have taken a liking to #6 (Cuney) on offense.

While Vidor thus far is having a great season(I wish them continued success as it goes on) and the fact those young men are usually well coached and play with all out effort.  the Pirates are gonna be a handful to say the least. Granted HJ is not as good as Vidor I think. they do run similar type offense so the timing of this game with it still fresh on Jasper’s mind hopefully works out.

the one thing I can/will guarantee come Friday night is that I will be there in Vidor supporting them DAWGS.

  6. I got so excited and happy for LCM when I saw this 🤗.

this just may be those Battling Bears year to beat Jasper.

You have to go back a couple of decades into LAST CENTURY (1979) to see the last "W" LCM got against Jasper.  10-7 the score.

    Should be a good game.

thanks for playing Bears & good luck against your Nemesis.

I played against Burkeville back in the day, and worked with two of the Spikes brothers who were on those teams.  I always like seeing teams that have been down having success.  It energizes the school and community.  Congrats and best of luck this season.

I agree. 👍 Burkeville has had a rough road in recent years.  it's good to see them having some success!

Sorry, after the bands finished I went to the concession stand with toddler in tow.
ended up finishing chicken basket and headed out as baby was done-zo.

    gotcha!

the little ones make the world go round.

to me (and maybe to some of yall as well) the travel to get to each other's  school always seems like it takes 4 ever.

lol win or lose the way home afterwards is rough. I don't get drowsy at the wheel often but over the years I have had some woozy doosy trips home from HJ.
