Did anyone think Rusk would be up on Carthage 14-7 at half this year? I don’t care how many turnovers Carthage had that’s apart of the game. Regardless we can save that talk for next week. Thanks! You are exactly right. "Gel" is the exact term I used earlier in this season when BH struggled to find an identity under a new coach and staff. The critics howled but anyone with any football knowledge should realize it takes some time. The predecessor had five years, but some did not even want to give Absek five weeks. Sure.. transitioning to a new coaching staff your senior year that got here in July can’t be easy fir players or coaches. Just saying if TW didn’t head out I think the season would have been a little less chaotic. In the end the result may have been the same but we will never know. Next season should be more consistent with a full year under Abseck.

Barbers Hill. You were very much in doubt of making the playoffs. The team gel and then did the unthinkable and knocked of the number 2 team in the state. You then turned around and was a couple of plays from beating another top ranked region 3 team. What an incredible season and one that makes the entire district 12-5a proud. Love what you guys accomplished this season. We look forward to your support for the last two teams standing. I really believe that all season we were talking bad about our district because we are all beating up on each other and the reason for that is that we may have been better than we thought with a reeal state champion contender in Crosby. You guys did your part to make sure our district was put on the map. PNG has a tall task next week and we make no bones about it, We had the same tall order this past week. That is why we play the games. 12 5a has become one of the better district in the state this season. Barbers Hill you made us PROUD I take my hat of to you. 
 

Congratulations to the Hill on a great , exciting and successful year. Anytime you lose a close one, especially in playoff rounds, there are going to be decisions made, usually in the 4th, on plays that are questioned. Both teams had them. But as i said last week, the seniors from the Hill will be talking about their upset of FB Marshall at their 30th reunion if not longer, and a few what ifs about tonight. My teammates talk about our playoff loss to state champion Brownwood often, but beating Waco Midway also. Bittersweet . And this may be the tipping point class that sends the Hill to constantly reach multiple rounds  in the playoffs. Great job players, fans and new coaches. 👍🏻✝️🐻

Alright I'm Sold BH wins by 21. 
I don't think that district up north is very good, I think they have one team with a good offense and a bunch of teams with solid defenses but they haven't seen anything like the offenses in 12-5A. This is a great matchup for the Eagles because they don't need shoot out numbers to win. 
The only thing BH needs to do is stop watching their game tape from last week on repeat and make sure they are ready for Consolidated. Cannot look back to your awesome win or forward to your potential revenge game against your rival. Have to be in the moment, if the Eagles are they cruise to victory.

I hear you and I agree with all that but the last part. My skin is so thick its off the charts. No one, and I mean no one can get under my skin, no matter what they try.  My life is WAY too big and WAY too good for anyone, especially on any high school message board or any social media to rattle me. It does seem though that I really matter (round the clock) to some, even though that is never my intent, but that's on them, LOL. It really is all good.
BTW I am an ex collegiate athlete. Just sayin.

FB Marshall got outplayed, out executed , out conditioned , ....THEY GOT WORE DOWN.   Watch the game on TexanLive.   BH controlled the game from midway 2nd Qtr until the end of the game.   BH punched them in the mouth and staggered them.  
Who you play early in the year and how tough a district your in is important heading into the PLAYOFFS.

Agree 100 percent. triple headers and even quadruple headers were the best 80-90’s  Watching Odell James and Aldine MacArthur, La Marques state runs ( except the 2 years they beat us there) Vince Young, Ray Seals and Madison, great Katy teams, PNG, Nederland, Westbrook, WOS and Jacksonville— all day great football

Cy-Fair FCU Stadium, 7:30 Friday night. Its an awesome stadium, you think you are at a college campus.  

I never knew I was that important to you. I am flattered. I also didn't know you are so juvenile that you tried to use "gal" to describe me. That's almost as good as "ant mound" being turned into "aunt mound" by some other 12 year old on here. Do you stick your tongue out at your computer screen when you read posts here? I don't think it has been a bad year given he walked into your fieldhouse in July, without a spring and had to implement an entirely new program in a month. With that said y'all put more on Crosby than any other team including the ones that beat Crosby. That is no jab at Crosby, they are going to go deep in the playoffs but it gives you a glimpse into the potential for BH. If you all think you were going to State the first year he started, that was a fantasy at best. It takes years to get a program going and to get the community all bought in.

I see a lot of posts on how BH is throwing money at coaching to solve their problems but they had to give Abseck that amount to get him to leave. He has been given offers all throughout his tenure at Cedar Park and turned them down. You have no clue how entrenched and loved the Absecks were here. We probably have a smaller community than BH and they were part of it. Our kids grew up together. He coached my boys.  They were celebrities. They are getting what CP and LISD SHOULD have paid him here. Every sporting event for the school, that man was there all year with his family by his side. I think BH got a deal and he will turn that program into a quality program in the next few years.  

Interested to see how BH does in this game. 

I think you full of BS personally and have no idea of the talent level of BH kids down through the 7 Th grade. Your always bias against BH and honestly think in your opinion if your not black then you can’t be athletic. Prieto took a couple of years to ramp up and so will Abseck, your opinion of where we will be in the following years amounts to nothing. Goodluck to Crosby, but we don’t care what you think✌️

^^^ This is pretty much my take on the season, too. 
For all the intense criticism leveled at the new coach (mostly by outsiders) few have kept in mind this is a TRANSITION season for BH. I said that many times. New coach, new system, late start = inconsistencies and some losses. With that said, some of the issues are on the coach, and some are not. No coach is culpable when a RB fumbles, or a otherwise accurate QB overthrows by 5 or even 10 yards like I saw last night, sure handed receivers drop easy passes, or a defender does not wrap up and lets someone break a tackle. You get the idea. Fundamentals can be taught but the players ultimately have to execute. 
What the staff is responsible for is attitudes and discipline. Personal fouls have to be checked, and attitudes have to be adjusted when necessary. This will be easier as players come up through the new system. In summary, this season went about how I expected for a TRANSITION year, and it was literally inches away from exceeding expectations. No one realistically expected BH to win State or anything this year anyway. This year is done but I am solidly optimistic about the next 2-3 years ahead. The predecessor got 5 full years, so this coach certainly deserves at least three to see what can be accomplished. He has my full support.       
 
 
    
 

There’s no doubt we did it to ourselves. I guess if I could use an excuse, it would be our HC didn’t come in till the summer, so kids were trying to learn a new offense and new defensive scheme starting during two a days. That’s tough to do and be successful, but personal foul penalties all year long and multiple ones each game is on coaches for not getting control of the kids. Of course this solely my opinion on the season and I was only at 7 of the 10 games.
