That’s true. I saw it firsthand. He’s a great athlete. I just don’t think he’s one of the best qb’s outside of his district. I’m excited for him though. No telling how far he can go in baseball.

Upside, prob only plays football when it’s football season prob never practices football, he’s a d1 football player also if he wants to be!!

  2. Running a 6.5 60 yard dash shows you how good of an athlete he is, he will give any teams trouble on the football field. Looking at his stats he’s going to almost rush for 1000 yards, going to throw for over 1000 yards and already has 8 passing and 8 rushing tds, all I’m saying is Livingston little better than normal and they will be better with having an athlete like that.

Lumberton looked pretty good in the first quarter, then the Coach went for it on 4th down did not make it, EC scores.  Then later in first half on his own 35 he goes for it AGAIN does not make it.... EC scores.  I think the Coach blew it for his team.  Don't get me wrong, they were not going to win but, each team scored on their first 2 possessions, and it was close until they shot themselves in the foot with going for it on 4th down.  I think it was fine the first time but, the 2nd time was a 4th and 2-3yds on your own 35!  Just not smart imo.  Also they ran the ball too much, one of EC''s few weaknesses is WR coverage.  The WR's were open and they kept running planned QB runs just weird.  I'd have to listen to the broadcast again but I think I am remembering it

I understood the first 4th down attempt. I would assume the second 4th down attempt was due to the fact that the Raider D had not slowed EC down. It was a risk that came up one inch short after the measurement. I recall the QB running due to pressure more than called QB runs. The 97 yard fumble return for the EC TD is what killed me. If Lumberton scores on that play, it was gonna be a lot closer game! I feel like the Raiders are getting better. I have confidence that they will compete come district.

Got to be dedicated to a particular system or it negates your time spent there advantage.

I'm not hating on him like some. Everyone wants the coaches head during the down years and they want him franchised during his good years.

I definitely agree about being dedicated to a system. I think/hope Babin is gonna stick with the system in place now. Lumberton has some really good young players coming through the system. I think the future is bright if they maintain continuity with the system and the coaching staff.

Only reason is 4 out of 6 go to the playoffs.  Ok that is a winner?  I give up yall are all correct he is the greatest coach ever and should never be criticized.

Lumberton has made the playoffs what 5 times in 55 years and the head coach has been a part of it all 5 years!!! You are clueless man !!

It doesn't matter how long Babin is there if he keeps changing the playbook every single year.  It's like starting over every season. Lumberton has got to stick with a certain system for a extended length of time .

Babin was Gun Run for his first four years. Lots of downhill run and play-action pass. He tweaked stuff every year but largely ran the same stuff. In year 5 he switched to the Slot-T. They won 7 games but he decided that their future looks better back in the gun. He went back to the gun this year with an elevated focus on the passing game. I respect your constructive criticism, but he hasn’t changed the offense “every year”. He changed last year, then changed back to the gun this year.

Like I said all the parents and kids never the coaches.  If a parent says anything they are upset because their kid is not playing.  Not the case here.

Lumberton made the playoffs 5 times Babin has done it 3 times as a head coach and twice as the OC. He’s a winner!! Sometimes you just don’t have the athletes  to compete.

  8. “Lumberton has been competitive every year Babin has been there. His non-district schedule always has balance - you are sighting Kirbyville, Furr, and Evadale (which was an impromptu game). You are leaving out Jasper, Silsbee, HF, East Chambers. They play good teams and weaker teams. They win some and lose some. Football participation is higher than its ever been at Lumberton and fans show up every week in support. Obviously you don’t like Babin for some personal reason on top of the fact that you are mad that your son isn’t on the field in front of some other kid with “a certain last name”. You are a bad Lumberton citizen. You are publicly hurting your kids program with your eyes wide open. Shame on you.”
